she’s leaning against the mini bleachers, her arms are loosely crossed on her chest, perfectly trimmed eyebrows raised up as she’s watching them fumble through their explanation. there’s a smirk tugging at her glossied lips, all the signs showing that she’s clearly entertained. “ no, go on. i desperately wanna hear how you justify that, ” green hues scan the person in front of her, zoya’s tone is sharp but teasing, there’s a familiar bite to it. “ i promise i’m all ears, don’t disappoint me, ”

❛ i don't know what you were so worried about — this is great. ❜ sylvie said around a bite. ❛ seriously, the little kick at the end? fuck martha stewart. ❜

Having achieved anonymity for the entirety of the afternoon, Cole had gotten a little too confident. His ridiculous disguise of dark clothing and a labeless baseball cap had worked wonders in his opinion. No one had noticed him. Not that he was all that surprised as the grounds were crawling with professional athletes who were far more noticable in Dallas. It was almost freeing. He had gotten very distracted, enjoying the talking and laughter around him. Cole hadn't even realised until it was almost too late that he'd stumpled upon the media area. He glanced up from his phone like a deer in headlights. Frozen still on the spot. His heartbeat picking up with the fear that if anyone was going to recognise him, it was the people here. Suddenly, Cole pushed himself into action and spun on his heel. Colliding almost immediately with someone walking in the opposite direction. "God!" The male exclaimed. "I'm so sorry. Are you okay?"
who: open @championstarters where: vendor row
xavier had been halfway through vendor row when someone stopped him for a photo, then another, then a kid asking for an autograph on a baseball that was already signed by three other players. he didn't mind, laughs came easy, arms slung around shoulders for pictures before sending people back into the crowd with a quick fist bump. when he finally stepped aside for a second, he noticed someone nearby watching the whole thing. a grin spread across his face. "right then, you next?"

“oh no, you do not want my advice. i did not play a lot of baseball in my home country.” the quiet athlete commented.

aydin completely missed the target after throwing the dart. "okay listen, i'm a bit rusty." that was a lie, he never really played darts, but a man can dream to have many many talents. "how have you been?" he asked, they've been playing only for a little bit, taking turns asking each other questions as they play darts, a good excuse to catch up.
who: open to all ! where: seeking relief in the shade !
the texas sun in march had no right to be this aggressive, and fitz had made the rookie mistake of wearing a dark shirt, which he was now paying for somewhere between the vendor row and the main stage, beer getting warm in his hand faster than he was drinking it. he found a patch of shade, leaned against a tent post, and glanced sideways at whoever had the good sense to end up in the same spot. "please tell me you know where the actual food is," he said. "i've been walking in circles for twenty minutes."

໒꒱﹒ " don’t look at me like that, " he called out without turning, firmly stationed at the grill with a spatula in hand while smoke curled lazily around him. " somebody's gotta make sure you all don't burn the place down. " he slid another patty across the grates, flames flaring up for a brief second before settling as grease snapped against the heat, and only then did he glance over his shoulder, eyes narrowing playfully beneath the backward brim of his cap. " you here to help, or just to criticize my technique ? " he asked, a brow lifting as the corner of his mouth tugged upward. " because if you’re not grabbing a plate or a drink for somebody, you're dangerously close to being assigned cleanup duty. "

she had kept it a secret for as long as she could, not wanting to jinx it but being one of the singers for the weekend block party had to be the highlight of her year so far. as excited as she was though, zee was also incredibly nervous and though her set was still a couple hours away, she felt like she couldn't fully enjoy the event until her performance was done. turning towards the person closest to her, zee took the first opportunity to be able to distract herself. "how do you usually take care of the jitters?"

the sun is pressing heat into zoya’s uncovered shoulders, her denim skirt is riding high on now sun kissed thighs and knee high boots are completely impractical for grass, but she doesn’t care. she crouches slightly, milo is in front of her at the tee and his oversized cap is sliding over his eyes. “ alright, buddy - elbow up. other elbow - no … - yes, that one. you have two, use them, ” her voice is calm but firm and within seconds, her son huffs dramatically and she can’t help but roll her eyes playfully while brushing a curl off his forehead. “ look, mama didn’t invent baseball and she isn’t perfect. i’m not running the drills perfectly and i can’t pitch like your faves, but i can teach you to hit. is that okay ? ” a nod. he swings, he misses. he swings again, gets in contact this time - it’s wobbly, but rolls forward and it’s enough for a three year old. she notices they’re being watched, straightening her posture back up, her one hand hooked into the back pocket of her skirt. “ he clearly gets his almost athleticism from me, ” her tone is lightweight, even though her face expression is dead serious. “ tragic for the rest of you, ” a shrug and finally her eyes move up to the person in front of her, though her attention span allowing her to watch milo at the same time. “ don’t tell him i said that - i’m trying to build character, not ego, ”

" how can you not love punch the monkey though? he has literally captured everybody's hearts. i mean have you not seen the tiktok of him being bullied and then the zoo keeper giving him a stuffed monkey that he ends up carrying by his side all the time? do you hate monkeys is that it? because we should totally fly to japan and take him home with us, or visit him. all i know is i want to protect punch with all my freaking dang heart dammit! Open starter Location: The Dugout (sports bar) Time: around 10pm
The Outlaws have won yet another game, even though it had been a bit touch and go at times. No matter the ringing in his ears after getting tackled so often on the field, there had been a buzzing of tensions in the pitchers, louder than any aftershock from another colliding body against his. Chantings muffled by boos, beers lukewarm in dowturned mouths. Still, they had won and, as always, the entire team gathered afterwards for drinks at the Dugout, which is how Jackson found himself mulling over the pinkest cocktail he had ever seen to this date, cold sheen of condensation slipping under his fingertips as he welcomed the drink a teammate had ordered for him before vanishing.
"Hhmm... Heck is this?" He asked to no one in particular as he bowed to sniff the glass before straightening up and looking at the person at his side for support. "Have you got any idea what's in this one?" Jackson asked while stirring the liquid with the straw.
