Over the Fence || Shinwoo & Sandeul
Sandeul nods his head slightly, making a mental note of what he’s told. Looking over at the older male next to him, it would probably be wrong to try write stuff down…it would take him too long anyway, writing still wasn’t his thing. “Brave isn’t really something I’m good at.” He murmurs in response.
The crackle makes the younger male jump, looking up at the purple flicker of the force field.
"Erm…no." Slowly his attention is brought back to Shinwoo as he looks down at the other’s watch, nodding slightly. He’d have to ask Seungho hyung for a watch, somehow, asking for things also wasn’t something he was good at. Again the younger male simply nods.
"Why do we have to wait 3 minutes?" It’s probably a dumb question but he asks it anyway, keen to understand. His fingers fiddle with the edge of his hoodie a small shiver running along his spine due to the cold air.
"That thing is actually the strongest when they first turn it on. It takes it three minutes to get to full power." There was a lot of science behind it that his father had explained at one point, a long time ago, but it wasn't necessary for the whys and hows right now. "Once it's at full power, there are weak spots that kinda....fluctuate over the whole dome..."
He gave the hand in his a little squeeze, eyes on his watch again. Watching the second hand tick and the minute hand inch along slowly. Listening to Sandeul's quiet breaths in the darkness of the subway stairs.
"Alright, c'mon." He stood, slinging his backpack over his shoulder and dropping Sandeul's fingers. "Stick close, if I tell you something - stop, drop, don't move, you listen to what I say the second I say it, got it?" He chucked a reassuring hand under Sandeul's chin, and climbed the rest of the stairs to peer out over the sidewalk, street and small stretch of field that separated them from the fence, waiting for Sandeul to join him.

Wake Me Up || Shinwoo & Baro
Baro takes a gasp of air (quietly) after the kiss is broken and he smooths down what he can of Shinwoo’s hair. There’s a bandage in the way but that’s okay. Everything was okay now. It had to be.
"Shh, shh…" He soothed his lover, rocking him gently and smiling to himself. Shinwoo was rarely ever the one to cling to Baro and in a way he liked it. He liked that Shinwoo felt he could be protected by him. That he was needed. He felt the shift of guilt settling in his gut but he ignored it.
He had Shinwoo now.
No one would ever come between them again.
"Sleep, ya need t’rest. Am here. Not goin’ nowhere, kay?" He whispered into Shinwoo’s ear, kissing it gently and then letting his eyes dart towards the door and he chewed on his lip. He tugged the blanket over their heads.
It had been so long since he'd been held. He was always the bigger, the older, the stronger one, the one holding, ever since he was thirteen. Ten years was a long time to wait to be held. But with Baro rocking him, soothingly, he was also certain of one thing:
It had been well worth the wait.
He inhaled as deeply as achy ribs would allow, nosing at Baro's shirt, inhaling his scent. There was a lot of antiseptic and cold sterile hospital smell, but there was also the smell that he only ever associated with Baro. His Baro, his only love, whispering warm and soothing in his ear. He snuggled down as Baro moved, pulling the scratchy blanket over them. His eyes flickered open in the dim little tent the motion created, smiling sleepily.
"You'll be here when I wake up again?"

The grin shrinks slightly but he holds it, looking over the bandages and bruises that were visible. “Better is good. Very good.” The dark haired boy nods enthusiastically.
Hesitantly Sandeul wraps his arms around Shinwoo, it felt like a long time since he’d hugged someone or had even been near someone kind and familiar to him.
"Don’t worry about me. I’m tough." He mimics the pose someone does when showing off their bicep muscles. "Oh! I brought you something." shifting slightly he pulls a brown paper bag out of his pocket, inside was a roughly baked sugar cookie. "I thought it would be a change from whatever they give you here."
He winces at the slight darkening of Sandeul's bright eyes, wishing he hadn't caused it. He hadn't meant to sadden the younger boy. Even if it was the truth.
But Sandeul wraps his arms around, hugs him close, and for a moment Shinwoo lets his eyes drift closed, curling up. Sandeul's squishier in some places where Baro's firm, but. He likes feeling the other's heartbeat and breathing, so much better than the cold sheets. So much better from the memories of lying on the lumpy couch, drifting in and out of consciousness, waiting (he supposes) to die.
Stop thinking about that.
"I'm sure you are," he murmurs to Sandeul's jacket, though he frowns, just a bit, at all the shifting- muscle flexing and then digging into pockets. He blinks open his eyes in time to see Sandeul shake a crumbly cookie out into his hand.
And sat up, eagerly, snagging the cookie and devouring it in three bites, enjoying the taste of sugar. Sure, jello was sweet, but it wasn't he same at all, and he was getting so tired of fried rice and mushy vegetables. "Fank'oo," he mumbled through a mouthful of cookie, grinning. "Fank'oo so mu'h~!"
Over the Fence || Shinwoo & Sandeul
Dirty sneakers poke at a broken bit of tile on the floor, nudging it around aimlessly as the dark haired boy waited. Sandeul looks up at Shinwoo next to him. He admired this hyung and would actually like to be like him. Perhaps if he worked hard he could be like him.
Sandeul listens with a shocked silence as he’s told about the risks involved in what he agreed to do. There was no escape from the dangers involved here. “T-tell…” He had been warned to keep it a secret and so far he had been doing so. Not even the closest person to him knew about his second job, though at times he had been tempted to say about it. The dark haired male remains quiet, now looking down at his shoes.
He would have to learn to be good at this or he won’t have a chance to do much else. Learning quickly here is going to be the key.
"I had better learn quickly then." He jokes but his quiet laugh is strained and forced. It would be impossible to claim that he wasn’t terrified. He returns the gaze for a moment but is quick to look away, looking back to that piece of broken tile.
A quick shake of his head confirms that his desire to be on TV, to be famous is lacking. “If I end up on TV Baro would find out, I think he’d kill me.” Yet another pathetic joke and strained laugh but it helped to ease his nerves slightly. This was something he would have to go through with now he’d started. Backing out wasn’t an option. A shiver runs along his spine and it’s not just from the cold.
"Learn quick, and think fast," Shinwoo replies, feeling a tiny spark of relief. And the very least, Sandeul isn't treating this like a joke. "Think very, very fast. You have to be able to sneak out of things, run away from things -- there's no point to being brave. If you have to be brave, you're already screwed."
Something crackles like static electricity outside, but he keeps talking, even as the faint purple glow of the force-field flickers at the top of the stairs.
"You have a watch? You're going to need a watch-- we'll use mine tonight, if you've not got one, ask Seungho for the cash to get one; if he's going to have his own smuggler he's gotta be the one to equip you. Don't let him argue, alright?"
He doesn't wait for an answer, marching on.
"The second you see the purple, start timing. You want to wait three minutes down here. Not three minutes after eleven, three minutes after they actually get that thing turned on. Got it?"
