On the Edge of the Sea

She dances on the

beach with sandy feet. Water

washes it away.

The sand seems to be

more persistent than you’d think.

Water makes it stay.

With her feet buried

in sand again, she goes back

to rinse them once more.

Forgetting what she

learned, she decides to walk back.

Wet feet on dry shore.

Instead of going

back to the sea, she decides

to let the sand be.

11:55pm

As I’m licking white frosting, it’s becoming pink at the touch of my tongue. I taste sugar and blood.

Hotel?

   They would like a    room for four    in a town with the    view of the shore.    All they wanted was to    go surf in the sea.        Only regretting it, when they'd realized how sandy they'd be.

Friend. Pt 3

As I look upon the time,

I see it has flown far.

But time can not remove

an old, deep-cut scar.

So I sit here now

and vividly recall the day.

As much as I heal,

the memories will never go away.

Is this a curse

or a cruel lesson indeed?

Whatever the intention was,

they have done what they must to succeed.

Friend. Pt 2

I sensed the end was coming

as it came very near.

I held her close to my heart for she was my most dear.

Afraid to watch her leave,

I left her without a sense of home.

The regret that’s buried deep

is mine to suffer alone.

Silent Song.

A singer is not a singer

without their voice.

Those who cannot speak,

they have no choice.

So they must sit and hum

and shall remain with none.

Because they cannot sing

without a voice.

Eventually.

I’ve come to realize that,

no matter how much time and effort one puts in to clear the path,

there may be an obstacle that you cannot remove.

After all you’ve done,

it shouldn’t be there.

But it is.

You may not know what it is,

or even why it is there but again,

it is still there.

And all that you could do,

is hope it will go away

eventually.
