Just because it may not affect you directly, does not mean you shouldn't care. Let's look at history and do everything in our power to not repeat the past. I'm not trying Br divisive. He was wearing a baseball cap over his silver hair, embroidered with the United States Marines emblem. He proudly donned a "semper phi" tattoo on his tanned, still toned bicep. Halfway through the meal, we saw another older gentleman walk in wearing a tropical floral print "vacation" shirt with grandkids in tow. He saw the man sitting alone, walked over to him with almost a familial sense of familiarity. He quietly put out his hand, said "semper phi", raised the sleeve of his shirt to reveal his ink and walked away. No other words were exchanged between the strangers, just a solemn, yet proud understanding through their eyes. It was clear these men had served most likely at separate times and different places, but for the same purpose...to protect the freedom and civil liberties enjoyed by our families. So today, if we are to thank our veterans, we must remember to honor their service by respecting our privileges, our freedom, our democracy, and our liberties. We must never let their sacrifice be in vain. 🇺🇸
