For this post, I'm going to be featuring Dove.
Dove has many products, ranging from hair, body, and skin. Even thought dove does make products for me, their main audience is women. Women of different body/skin types, different ages and color.
"We believe beauty should be a source of confidence and not anxiety. That’s why we are here to help women everywhere develop a positive relationship with the way they look, helping them raise their self-esteem and realize their full potential." -Dove
I can honestly say that dove is a great product because I use it on my skin. My skin is very sensitive and I can't just use any kind of soap, without it feeling dry or turning red.
Thier product is very affordable, depending on the size and the retailer, you could be looking to spend around $4-8 dollars on a product.
For instance, This Dove Dry Oil Moisture Body Wash is $5.49 at Target for a 22oz bottle. An 8 pack of 4 oz beauty bars is $8.99. You can purchase DOVE at any retail store that offers skin care, like Target, Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, even Amazon.com.
Doing this search I saw ads for Olay body wash and Irish Spring, which is weird because Irish spring is targeted to men and not women.
Dove’s ads are always High key lighting set ups, with very light tones. Some of their ads feature women who use the product and sometimes just the product itself. It could either be a single shot or a group shot and it would usually have like the product edited it at the bottom in post. I wouldn't think that the use any spectacular equipment, but a basic DSRL with a wide angle lens to capture these group shots. Models are usually wearing an all white T-shirt or bra with bikini bottoms or boy shorts.
Sometimes when I look at these ads I wonder if they [the model] chooses their own poses they want to stand in or if they’re posed that way.
Trying to give credit to where credit is due; I couldn't really find who shot these.
but looking at articles and other blogs I fond that dove features work from 67 female photographers including Annie Leibovitz, Tierney Gearon and Peggy Sirota.
