Hello, so, I don't know many people who know the character Shard but I always wanted to know how old he is, even though I searched I never found anything about it, do you know how old he would be? (I really wanted to know because lately I've been seeing a lot of fan art Of him and silver and I found it super cute)

OKAY NOW THATS A GOOD QUESTION!

It can be seen that throughout the Archie comics before the reboot, the characters do subtly age as the story continues

And in archie sonic comic lore, Shard is supposedly the first original version of Metal Sonic that we're used to seeing

So at the time of the first Metal Sonic's conception, Sonic would be around a preteen-ish age. And since Metal Sonic is to basically be a complete robotic copy of Sonic, it's safe to assume his intellect would be of that of a preteen as well

By issue 87, the OG Metal Sonic's demise is depicted by him sacrificing himself -after a change of heart- to a volcanic eruption as to allow for Sonic and Tails to escape. So he's like... dead.

BUT! At some point further in the comics, like right before the reboot, that OG Metal Sonic is seen rebuilt and revamped into Shard thanks to Uncle Chuck's hard work. He's still got the same personality, but has kept his change of heart from his last appearance. AND BY THIS POINT, A LOT OF TIME HAS PASSED. LIKE, A LOT.

So he was definitely rebuilt to have the same level of maturity and intellect as everyone else in the cast, who are all around like mid/late teens-to young adults at this point

BASICALLY, he is depicted to be around the same teen/young adult age as everyone else. However, no one is given an exact age... and SEGA has also retconned everyone's official ages in the modern day lore so SHRUGS you can basically give Shard any age that fits your fancy
