A meditation we wrote for ourself about a year ago. We come back to it every now and again.

Decided to share it today.

Why is it that when people try to say that they aren't racist/transphobic/misogynistic/homophobic, etc or that it doesn't exist anymore, the reason they give is always *incredibly* racist/transphobic/misogynistic/homophobic, etc?

As an example, there's the classic "I have a black friend" excuse white people use, which doesn't get said out loud but is often equally true of straight people and the number of queer friends they have, or cis people and trans people, or, unfortunately, transmascs and transfemmes.

And I want to focus on that last one because not only are the reasons people give that trans women have any sort of privilege inevitably based on denial of their womanhood, that false assumption of privilege is inevitably used to deny trans women and transfemmes hospitality in the queer community and human rights in larger society.

Meanwhile transmascs on the other side of the coin are being courted by Cis women in ways that turn them against their trans sisters and yet deny their own masculinity.

And even trans women microagression trans men by treating them as "uwu soft boys" who are inherently better than Cis men because of reasons that boil down to denying their masculinity. And once trans men start passing as cis men, with all the body hair and such that is inevitable on testosterone, those same trans women are all to often reacting "ew gross a man get out of our space" so they flee to Cis people and recloset themselves or go into transmasc only spaces.

We need trans solidarity but with the way things are its a long road to hoe.

there is a fucking statue of a kid who lived sometime in the 1200s, around 800 fucking years ago, because we have pieces of his homework that he doodled on while learning how to write. this is one of his drawings:

It's at the back of one of his schoolbooks for learning Latin.

You know who I'm celebrating this month? My mom, the queer Jewish poet who's finally retiring from 15 years in the Hell that is the customer service department of an insurance company.

Please remember that non-israeli Jews can't do anything about the crimes being committed in Palestine, they have no power to stop it

Hell, even Israeli Jews can't do much, which is made clear with them having also protested and taking initiative to stop the war with no success (so far)

The blame for the crimes and atrocities committed in Gaza is on the Israel government and the governments of other nations that blindly support them

I'm saying this because I have seen some people being openly hostile to the Jewish community and justifying it by blaming them for the genocide happening in Palestine

Hating Jews for being Jewish is antisemitism, no if or buts about it, target your anger at the people actively committing the crimes, not random people that happen to share one identity with them

I think we should ban the laugh emojis

People will be like, "I need you to come here and help me with this" and then make you stand there doing nothing for 15 minutes

I am American and I have never seen photos like this. I had no idea there are borders like this. Even though I LOVE the idea of open borders, I am staring at these pictures like “wait…people can just…walk across some stones or grass and BE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY??? and nobody stops them?? how does that WORK?!” So you can tell that my country’s propaganda has gotten to me by convincing me that this CAN’T work even though…it…obviously can. These pics just seem unreal to me. I’ve been taught my whole life that this can’t exist. In 27 years no one has ever sat me down and gone, look, here’s how it is elsewhere. It isn’t impossible at all.
