Anti-Winterpunk POC: "I don't hate white people but white people can't experience racism they just wanna be oppressed cause of their white fragility and white guilt cause they have white privilege" Me: ...what? This is your daily reminder that whitemisia exists. Implying that white fragility and white guilt are negative things that should be used against white folk is wrong. You can't be mad at white folk for having pocphobia when microaggressions like this lead to internalized whitemisia and also further deny the existence of non-systemic racism towards white folk. Racism: prejudice based on ones skin color, culture, heritage, etc. can be experienced by any race regardless of their classification as minority or majority Systemic Racism: prejudice and oppression based on a minority's skin color, culture, heritage, etc. specifically from a majority race in power
okay like.. yeah racism can be against everyone or whatever but like bro have you considered that this isn't a "microaggression" this is just like. False information. microaggressions is like somebody (directly towards you btw) is like "ohhh your hair looks so much better when it's straight" or "where's the father (to a black mother with her child)" or "You're attractive for a black person" it's not somebody going "uh I think [false fact about x race] because [kind of dumb reasons]" (also like pocphobia is really dumb because you're either extremely colourist or stupid if you think you can just know when someone is a person of colour. You are just racist if you only start being scared of them once they specify that they are.)
It isn't false information to use a generalization about something based on a very vague definition that changes depending on the source and context. Also if a person says that directly to a white person it is definitely a microaggression because it legit fits the aforementioned definition which is the one I use. Anyways in future reference I will just call it a slight. However, the actual problem here isn't semantics it is the blatant ableism and ignorance you have when it comes to your perception of race and phobias. Race is based on stereotypes and racism is enforced by stereotypes the whole concept of race itself enforces racism. Your argument that POCphobia is "dumb" is just ableism. Phobias are anxiety disorders they are uncontrollable. Somebody who has a race-phobia (aka race anxiety) is scared of the social construct that is a certain race which includes all racial identities because race is such an undefinable thing many different racial identities intersect making it possible for anyone of any racial identity to fit into any certain racial construct. You saying that "you're either extremely colourist or stupid if you think you think you can just know when someone is a person of colour" legit just proves my point. If someone is scared of the social construct that is a certain racial identity it isn't racist. "You are just racist if you only start being scared of them once they specify that they are." while yes the latter is true your assumption that POCphobia only includes "actual" POC is blatantly ignorant of race as a construct and the negative impacts it has on all racial identities. Anyone can experience racism because nobody has an actually defined race because race isn't real and was made to justify prejudice. Race is all about perception it has no clear lines. Don't even try and bring up genetics because using genetics to enforce race as a social construct is literally just bioessentialism and tracemisia.
Racial categories are weak proxies for genetic diversity and need to be phased out
You've heard that race is a "social construct." These reminders of how silly racial categories are explain how that works in real life.
What it is: “Racial anxiety” refers to the heightened levels of stress and emotion that we confront when interacting with people of other ra
I find it really funny how you're trying to argue with me by telling me I'm being bigoted in a way you made up. This is like trying to tell an atheist they're going to hell. Oh nooooo what ever will I doooooooo you're mad because you're pretending to be marginalized so you can be racistttttttttttt. oh nooooooo I'm so upsettttttt.
Imagine thinking it is racist to be against the concept of race which was legit created to justify hatred and used to justify slavery 💀
race wasn't created to justify hatred, it was created to help define groups of people, because it's literally in our tribal nature to separate into people with similar qualities to ourselves. That doesn't mean it's the best thing in the world, but if we took a group of people who knew nothing of our current ideas and let them live on their own they would also create "ingroups". It's just how a lot of animals work. with the function of our current society it is obviously not the most ideal situation, because nowadays a lot of the use of it is to justify hatred, but it wasn't created for that reason. Social groups exist no matter what you do. Also like. A thing being used to justify something bad is a stupid reason to be against it. Like oh no guys guess I'm anti spirituality because it's been used to discriminate against people (not serious). That's not how it works.
