Being more intimately acquainted with both David and Michael's respective approaches in acting/tone of interpretation than the average speculating fan, how do you think Good Omens as a story would have turned out if Michael were Crowley and David(or someone else you had in mind) were Aziraphale? Were there anyone else who were close contenders in your mind to play the ineffable duo?

Crowley probably would have been a lot more sinister if Michael had played him.

I remember spending a lot of time pondering who Aziraphale could be back when Crowley was going to be Michael, and I think Hugh Grant was a leading contender in my head, but then somewhere in the middle of writing episode 3 Crowley became David Tennant and Michael Sheen became Aziraphale and once that had been decided it couldn't have been anyone else.
