A Minute
How long is a minute? Can you track it with ease? Some expedite, some slow us down, it comes down to how we perceive. Can you feel the tension? It's choking me to death. Yet still I stand here smiling, for I love being out of breath.
It's been a minute since I've seen you, perhaps now a year or two. In our time apart we've both had much to do. We still find the time, to commit our crime, and dance around the fire. Our energies blaring through the trees, an echo of our choir.
It'll be a minute before we come together, for I don't know how to say; "I will always love you, but it's best if I don't stay." A minute is sixty seconds, ticking endlessly each day. But a minute can last a lifetime if I never stop running away.
