long story short, being on tumblr is harming me emotionally. i had an awful week, and writing vincent stuff here did not help me at all.

it feels DEGRADING to see so many rant / salt posts on my dash, especially when i’m trying to get away from one particularly abrasive, but unfortunately popular, vincent stan blog. tumblr savior didn’t help either. i just can’t escape

worse still, a lot of old friends have deactivated or moved on. so a lot of my motivation to stay here is just gone.

the corniest part of the pile of shit that was last week was a really graphic anon that i got on wednesday. i don’t even know what to say about it; i just know it was cartoonishly creepy.

most threads will be dropped; exceptions may be continued on discord. if i’ve made anyone feel cheated / betrayed, all i can do is apologize.

i’m going to reblog this on a queue a few times so all my followers can read this.

i know i got the worst possible day to realize this, but i hope you will understand.

“this scope doesn’t even work.” vincent held up the device in his hand: a telescopic sight add-on for his shotgun-sniper rifle hybrid, the hydra. “i want a refund.”

to vincent’s distaste, the shopkeeper pointed at a large sign behind herself, and stated its contents aloud: “unfortunately, chocolina’s emporium does NOT offer refunds. all sales are final! i’m sorry that your scope didn’t work... HOWEVER, i can offer you a special deal on an upgraded version! it’s the Dope-Scope of Hope 3000K, which can enhance your sights up to 300 yards, for the historically unheard-of price of 15000 gil!”

vincent just blinked, baffled at the sudden readiness with which chocolina rattled off her offer. “why didn’t you show me that?”

- “i did say it was on clearance.”

- “but--”

- “and i did tell you there was an upgraded model!”

vincent had been caught red-handed: he’d only bought this measly scope because it was cheap.

“...nevermind, i’ll take it.”

the whole time he was at 7th heaven, he couldn’t bear to look tifa in the eye.

she was living a good, honest life, and vincent saw it all over her. the natural glint in her eyes, the sincere curves in her smile, and the sheer disposition in her posture as she chatted with barret and marlene -- all of it left a burning lump in vincent’s throat. he felt robbed of the life he could have lived. this is not how it should have been.

“hey.” a massive chunk of metal softly poked at vincent’s cape; the gunman turned his head to look at barret, who was facing him with concern. “ya don’t look so good. what happened?”

vincent immediately rose up from his stool and walked out, with his back hunched over just enough to signal the spite barret’s question had stirred up within him.

not even a “§#&@ off,” or any other clapbacks; vincent had only walked out. no one in AVALANCHE had ever done that.

all barret could do was stare in confusion. in his experience, people that quiet could be time bombs just waiting to go off.

there was nothing vincent could not eat here; no matter how bad it tasted or how actually disgusting it was. anything went for him; whether a regular ramen bowl, a plate stuffed with fish and chips, a sandwich as tall as his arm was long – his stomach may as well have been a bottomless pit.

meia had a right to be baffled at someone so utterly insatiable, but vincent was not quite that: he was in a mood to stuff himself. his organism wouldn’t care, after all. it was barely even human anymore; everything tasted the same to him.

a commotion had just stirred up outside 7th heaven. those with the spine to check what was up found an unusual scene: a bloodied man, wearing a tattered leisure suit, on the ground, and vincent valentine pointing a gun at his face.

“i’m going to ask you a question, and if your answer doesn’t satisfy me, i will shoot.” not that vincent was in a mood to let him live. “where the hell did you take the motorcycle?”

the man’s eye had gone black, and the blood running from his mouth slurred any chance of an answer. but vincent wasn’t having any of it, and ordered him to “SPILL IT!” his voice distorted into a bestial roar, and his eyes briefly flashed yellow wisps within the irises.

though vincent’s wrath had bested his judgment, the truth was far more tame – as he would find out at the sound of rolling wheels drawing nearer.

it had finally happened.

vincent had not broken under the pressure -- he’d imploded. his blood’s flow was on overdrive, the tears ran so fast he could feel his eyes burn, and the guttural growl he spoke with had been degraded to screams of rage. something had consumed vincent -- but no one could tell why.

on his knees, the gunman could not stop crying. he’d become trapped in his own sorrow. his peace had come to an end, whether he wanted to or not -- and there was nothing he could do about it.

vincent could not help himself -- but someone would.

the warrior of light had placed a hand on his shoulder, his touch as warm as the light he was always fighting for. just that palm on the red cape helped vincent rise back up into the light, although he took his bitter time to pipe down and breathe in the air.

“this too shall pass,” said the knight of knights. it couldn’t just pass. vincent needed a lot more than just a word of kindness,

but it would do for now.

still defeated, vincent had no option other than to accept the warrior’s gesture, and lean into his arms with tears running down his crimson mask. it felt disgraceful to be seen so vulnerable like this, but even the hardest of hellhounds would break a bone one day.

A heavy sigh and she flopped heavily to sit at Vincent's side. It had been a long, tiring day, icy eyes faded to a dull grey. Meia sidled close. Slid a hand over his forearm. "Don't say anything", she said, head laying against Vincent's shoulder, eyes falling closed. "Just... give me a moment."

he’d hardly noticed meia walk in before she flopped onto his shoulder. even though she was just dropping herself onto a chair, her head hit vincent’s cape like she’d been thrown through a window – it startled him at first, but the hand on his forearm was enough to put him at ease.

his leather-bound hand soon rose up, and the fingers slowly treaded through meia’s well-kept dark hair, just to assure her – he would keep her safe for the hours. “rest well – i’m guarding you.”
