Worry creases in brow further, eyes shining with concern, if that concern had been a pool of water it would’ve surely stung on cheeks by now and spilled over the edge in a raging flurry, unable to stop. Mouth can’t seem to draw itself into one expression or another, lips pressed together, muffled noises and words of distress never quite leaving, only echoing out as the odd sound or two, as lips twitch and quiver. Hands tempted to be brought close to teeth, so that they could grind and bite down harshly on short nails in nervousness that itched all over.
Feet shuffle to the side slightly, although still standing in the same spot, fingers grasping at the edges of fabric, grabbing and releasing, grabbing and releasing. Blue hues continue to bore at her, staring, as he fidgets around for what feels like forever. She says hearts can’t explode, but her’s hardly even beats at all! What if there’s an exception? How could she be so… so… calm about this!
Actually, he might be the one to explode at this rate.
“Dude, that doesn’t sound fine at all!”
All pent up distress spills out in a shout, tightness built up from standing glued in the same spot in concern let lose, with feet now choosing to pace back and forth, teeth finally biting at nails, all movement only stopping when he chooses to look at her, pointing his finger out. “There’s gotta be something we can do!” Tone raises in volume and in pitch, care and distress both leaking through. Her not having a heartbeat had already worried him enough… but maybe there was some kind of explanation! This was Tea Girl after all… she wasn’t exaclty normal. Maybe she just didn’t have one… that and a million other thoughts had tried to run their course through his head, but now…
Now he doesn’t know what to feel but worry! If her actions after were meant to reassure him, yes, she does have a heartbeat… but, it’s just way too honking slow! Agonizing moments had passed before he heard the thump of a beating heart and it was unbearably slow. Yes… this was Tea Girl, but this was just… way too concerning!
Pacing is picked back up with speed, his own heart the complete opposite to her slow beating one, it might jump out of his chest at any moment, nerves frazzled and mind worked up trying to come up with solutions to help her. None of them would ever compare to his sister’s… but they might not have time to go get her!
“Oh! Maybe I can cast a Haste spell on your heart!” That would certainly help her heart beat at a normal rate but… what if it was too dangerous? Eyes light up for a second, only for that light to be sapped in a second, movement resumed. “Uh… Oh! I know! You can ask Enna Kros!”
…Wait… Who was he kidding, they can’t rely on Enna Kros to help her!
“Aghh! Dude there’s gotta be something!” Feet stop abruptly, fingers curling up in hair and tugging frustratedly, the pull painful, but ignored as teeth grit together. Tea Girl was used to this… that’s the only reason she’s acting so calm! Well… that and she always acted like… this… but what if her life really was in danger this whole time and she just didn’t know?! Why was he so useless?! There has to be something!
The fact that he was so concerned, so worried...it confused The Girl considerably. It’s just how things worked, she had never once questioned why her heartbeat was so slow. Only on occasion was it even a burdened, was it even noticeable and effected how she worked. She worked with time, so that’s why her own was slowed. That’s how she had always looked at it.
“Lann...--” The Girl started when the boy started to pace. He starts to bring up Enna Kros, and the Girl pauses for a moment. What she wouldn’t give to have a cup of tea with her friend again - but that wasn’t going to happen. Enna was far to busy and---
A small huff leaves her, and she puts her hands on her hips. “You know, I was joking about the whole exploding thing.” Or, she had been trying to. But she wasn’t one to make jokes often, so maybe it was just in bad taste? Or Lann didn’t catch it. Whatever it was, the girl shook her head and let her arms fall back down to her sides.
She stepped up to him and tugged on one wrist, pulling his fingers away from his hair and gently placed his hand down at his side. She then did the same thing to the other. “Not having a normal heartbeat isn’t that strange.” She had mentioned that she wasn’t a god in the way reynn was thinking of, but....she was one. Just...-- well, she didn’t want to say it aloud. If anything she didn’t want to ruin the image of Lann thinking of her as anything but that. That would be nice.
But she knows Lann is smarter than he gives himself credit for. And she knows he probably has already considered the fact that she wasn’t human.
“I’m fine this way, isn’t that enough - Lann?”
