Tokito with the Chase and Vase
Yuichiro made his way back to the rented room.
Yuichiro: Well that was weird…
As he opened the door to the room, he saw Gyokko peek his head out of the ball of blankets.
Gyokko: What? What is it?
Yuichiro:.. Why are you in the blankets like a cocoon?
Gyokko huffed, rolling up right to face Yuichiro.
Gyokko: I got bored and decided to make a nest. It’s comfortable, you should try it.
Yuichiro stared blankly at Gyokko.
Yuichiro:…A nest, huh? Sounds cozy.
He sat down next to the bed, holding the pouches of food he purchased.
Yuichiro: Never mind that… I’ve got the supplies for me, and a map that’s actually reliable.
Gyokko slithered up from the bed, peering down at the map that Yuichiro was holding.
Gyokko: The Takamine Mountains… you’re really went all out for this ‘rescue your brother’ mission eh?
Yuichiro cleared the map on the floor. Looking at the mark that labels the villager they’re in.
Yuichiro: Okay so from the Town to the North west to the mountains, it looks like we’ll take… another three days..
Gyokko: *grumble* Three more days of walking… That’s a pain in the ass…
Yuichiro: Gyokko, you are NOT one to complain, you don’t even have feet.
Gyokko rolled his eyes, playfully annoyed by Yuichiro's comment.
Gyokko: Oh, shut up! It’s not my fault I don’t have feet. You try slithering everywhere instead of walking, and see how you like it.
Yuichiro: Oh yeah, ignore my natural urge to just get off the ground walk, and wiggle around like a larvae on the dirt.
he plopped on the ground.
Gyokko chuckled at Yuichiro's attempt to imitate his form of movement.
Gyokko: You really suck at it, you know that?
Yuichiro: and you suck at walking.
Gyokko let out a small growl to that.
Yuichiro: anyways. I’d like to get going soon, before it gets dark. So can you get in your vase already?
Gyokko groaned, annoyed that he had to go into his pot so soon.
Gyokko: Ugh, do we have to go in now? Can’t I just stay out till later?
Yuichiro: Please, I’ve been gentle with your precious and ‘priceless’ vase. Do me this One favor so we don’t fall behind.
Gyokko sighed, realizing he had no choice but to comply.
Gyokko: Fine, fine. But only because you asked nicely.
He slithered over to his vase, slowly making his way in.
Gyokko: Just don’t drop me or I’ll haunt you for the rest of your life.
Yuichiro: Unfortunately you’re already doing that.
He put Gyokko in his satchel.
Gyokko stuck his tongue out at Yuichiro before the satchel closed, muffling his voice.
Gyokko: I can’t be haunting you! I’m a demon, not a ghost!
Yuichiro: Ghost, Demon, you’re just as annoying.
He tried to open his door, but his exit wouldn’t open..
Yuichiro raised an eyebrow, trying to open the door again but it refused to budge.
Yuichiro: The hell? I can’t open the door…
Yuichiro tried to tug at the door, push it back, tried to slide it open, nothing.
Yuichiro: Stupid thing.. must be jammed or something.
The door seemed stuck, refusing to move no matter how much Yuichiro tried. Frustration began to build up in his mind.
Yuichiro: Come on… open dammit! Why won’t you move?!
He was getting frustrated and increasingly agitated by the second. He slammed on the door, trying to force it open, but it didn’t yield.
Gyokko began to get impatient, banging on the satchel.
Gyokko: Ugh, let me out! I can help you push it open.
Yuichiro: I can handle it just..
He put the satchel back on the bed.
Yuichiro: I’ll just slip through that loose wallboard above the door.
Yuichiro jumped up, catching the edge of the loose wallboard. He managed to pull himself up and slide through the wall to the jammed door. Seeing a rod in between the slide doors.
Yuichiro looked at the jammed door for a moment.
Yuichiro: There’s a rod in between the slides… no wonder the door wouldn’t open…
Gyokko:(through door) You almost got it?
Yuichiro began to pry the rod out.
Yuichiro: Almost… there-!
As soon as he said that, the rod popped out and clattered to the ground.
Right when he pried off the rod.. something beneath him loosened the floor.
Yuichiro’s eyes widened, seeing a Hand grab his ankle.
He couldn’t even scream before two other pairs of hands grabbed his arms and face. Then the pocket closed up. Gyokko slid the door open.
Gyokko: I guess it was just really old. I got it kid.
He looked around to see the empty hall.
There was no response, no sign of the kid either… the room was completely empty, and eerily silent.
