i prefer older smartphones because i can't stand the planned obsolescence and "ai-powered" bloatware of modern phones. i had that s10e for 7 years until it finally stopped taking a charge and i loved it. never slowed down on me or anything. the pixel 4a 5g has been great for me so far, too. i'm not installing foreign apks or giving my phone to strangers, so i'm not too concerned about discontinued support

i agree that this isn't sustainable though. the hardware is deteriorating on these refurbished phones, so once this pixel finally dies, i'll probably just buy a modern phone
