« lets start off this interview with a somewhat simple question; what is one of your favorite things about portraying isabella chavez on ‘in simplicity’? »

one ?? but there’s so many ! but okay, one of the things is her closet, like have you seen it? it’s like her very own mall! and her shoes -- wow. there’s an episode in season one -- can’t remember which, you’ll have to go back and watch, where isabella is trying to figure out what to wear and there’s a glimpse of all her shoes in the background. can you believe i’ve only worn three of those shoes? i have to wear regular shoes if it’s a scene where you can’t see my feet -- or if i as isabella haven’t specifically picked out some shoes to wear on camera. i’m trying to make my way through all of the shoes, though. i need to have worn them all at least once by the end of season two !

« her clothes are gorgeous, i hope you succeed in that! anyway, isabella’s relationship with her parents is incredibly heartbreaking, please tell us that there’s at least one cute reconciliation coming ? »

oh gosh, i know. this poor child needs some love. honestly, i don’t even know what’s coming -- that would be nice though, wouldn’t it ? but at the same time, it’s not like they just made a mistake, y’know? and that her parents are gonna fly home and be like; “oh my god baby we’re so sorry for neglecting you. we love you so much!” isabella was born due to her parents own selfish reasons and they don’t care for her enough to come back, y’know? the only reason they feel kinda guilty and feel the need to substitute affection for money is because she is their daughter and that thought will always be floating in the back of their minds. it’s kinda like; “oh, well she is our daughter, we gotta do something. but our career is more important, i know, we can throw money at her instead of going back.” i’m probably rambling, sorry, but yeah. i’m not sure what’s gonna happen in future seasons but in my opinion, i think it’s kinda too late for the chavez’s to turn into this loving family. but we’ll definitely see her parents more this season, just in different ways.

« i feel so bad for izzy! also, last question. do you see yourself as a variation of izzy or vice versa? »

honestly -- and i know everyone likes to say they relate to their character so much, but for me; not really. i don’t really like portraying characters that are too similar to me because it’s almost like i’m portraying myself? and in my eyes, that’s kinda boring. i like to be challenged. that’s not to say izzy and i don’t have some similar traits like izzy can’t wait to leave school and her town to go on and live her dream and that’s kinda how i felt before my family moved to la. i don’t know if anyone’s heard but... i wasn’t exactly the best student back in kc, i just wanted to do my own thing and school wasn’t apart of that. i went about it the wrong way and yeah, i regret the things i did and said and yeah, that’s it. izzy & i are similar only because we want better things for ourselves -- she’s just more patient!
