i hope we get more tanner & jean interactions in the next because theirs is such a good and heartwarming dynamic! it's letting jean being the older brother figure he hasn't been able to be for years (non matter how bittersweet that is) because that's one of the too many things that's been ripped away from him. it's letting jean being a kind figure to look up to and learn from when he's never had that: a direct but healthier parallel to him being thea's duckling; he now has one of his own and he can break that cycle of violence when it comes to teaching.

and they way that tanner approaches jean too! there's no assumptions or initial mistrust, he just goes to him and asks him to teach him drills so he can throw just like him! it's as simple as that, jean is just a teammate who he looks up too and who he can learn from without any other expectation.
