Can I call these “statues”? Still not sure. Anyway made this lovely couple from hand cut paper on wood with (I think my favorite part) a small yarn rug. I’m really enjoying seeing my paper cuts as more three dimensional standing sculptures. “Truth and Justice “ I loved how my iron giant came out so I wondered if I could make statues from my hand cut paper pieces. This was a great test. It’s hand cut paper on wood. I cut out the wood base and background on my #glowforge and hand paper cut on top of that cut out. I’ve made two of these. One is for sale and the other is my donation for the #c2e2 saint Jude’s charity art auction. I will be at C2E2 this year and my commissions list is now open. Still more to do with this guy. I cut the wood layers out on my #glowforge (which I LOVE) and all the paper is hand cut as are the details. I still have some more to do with the base but I really love how this came out. Many of you know the iron giant is one of my favorite movies and I’ve made many paper cut versions of this happy fellow but this is the first free standing paper cut of him I’ve made. So lately I’ve. Been working on stuff I can’t share yet but I wanted to share this. I’m Dming my first campaign this week and I wanted to make myself a DM screen. I know the term “Run D&D” has been made but I wanted to draw my Dice and dragons as Run DMC so I sketched it out, giggled to myself and thought it would make a cool screen. The vents in the bottom right is a screen for my Bluetooth speaker to play BGM during the game and I repurposed my dice box tower for the inside and added another dice box that is padded and fits on a shelf above the speaker. The inside doors are painted with a special metal paint so I can use magnets for notes. I made a strip that goes on the top to hold tabs that mark for initiative rolls. The inside right is big enough to hold notecards, spell cards and a roll of tape to use on the initiative tabs. Or my iPad mini with dndbeyond loaded up as well as all my handbooks in pdf form. The outside doors, the cover of my dice box and the tower have some of my favorite Run DMC lyrics engraved on them.
