today’s funky frog of the day is: agalychnis lemur! commonly known as the lemur leaf frog or simply the lemur frog, they are found in costa rica, panama, and colombia. they inhabit tropical rainforests, and they only reside in three known locations. during the day, they are a vibrant green color, but at night, they turn brown, enhancing their ability to camouflage and hunt. they are small frogs, only growing to around 1.7 inches at most, and the females are generally larger than the males. they are mainly nocturnal, resting on the underside of leaves in the daytime. breeding takes place continually during the rainy seasons, and the males call with a series of clicks. although specific dietary habits have not been reported, it is known that they feed on a wide variety of insects, and they have a life expectancy between 5 and 10 years.
