- Charlie had been going about her day at the Bugle like normal. Her boss complaining they don't have any brand new photos of Spiderman for the paper and whoever gets them before tomorrows deadline would get five hundred dollars added to their paycheck. So of course, she climbed up the fire escape of the tallest building she could onto the roof.

- It's a bit strange the items she finds up here, she doesn't see anyone but theres a strange smell that makes her a but anxious and a strange burlap mask but she ignores it to focus on taking the pictures and then BOOM, a bags put over her head. When she wakes, she finds herself beaten and bound, tired to a chair.

Was anyone kidnapped with her? Is anyone going to save her?

This was bullshit.

Absolute bullshit.

Ethan sat, strapped to a chair, next to a woman he'd never met, and he had the worst headache imaginable.

His body was in rough shape. His chem fluid was nowhere to be found.

He managed to cough out the words "You wouldn't happen to be Chris's sister, Claire, would you?" through his gritted teeth.

His eyes seemed to glint orange in the limited lighting the enclosed room gave. His two prosthetic fingers were black and gross looking, and a single long scar ran all around his left wrist.

"M- My names Charlie." Charlie has to shout over the mechanical grinding noise that drowns out most other noises. She asks as she squints her eyes and tries to fight the migraine behind her eyes. "Who are you? Where are we? Um- Are you alright?"

"Ethan. And I can't believe I'm stuck in a horror movie a-fucking-gain."

He blinks hard, and a small shik could be heard. The ropes fall from his torso, and he holds a small pocket knife. He quickly undoes his leg restraints and starts cutting Charlie free.

"Don't know where we are. And I've not been alright for a loooong time. No hope on that front."

He closed the pocketknife, switched it to its largest blade, and held it in a reverse grip.

His glossy black fingers catch the light again, and Charlie could swear that they rippled.

"You get kidnapped regularly, Ethan?" She's confused as she struggles to untie herself from the chair but eventually does, standing up a little too quickly and has to sit back down. "Where were you hiding that big knife? What's up with your fingers?"

"This is... third time, I think? And, uhh. Jacket. Sewn in. And the fingers... later. I'll tell you later. Just, please. Don't die."

Ethan held his normal hand out to Charlie, before wrapping it under her arms and holding her upright.

"You just punch anything you see, okay? Just get it away. I'll get you out of here."

"Three times? Geeze, I guess it really does sound like a horror movie." She holds onto hin to stay upright, feeling very disoriented. "Yeah, Yeah...I can do that. Do you have any idea of who might have taken us or wanted to? I mean if feels so random?"

"Honestly? No. Could be Connections, could be a mad ex of Ada, could just be some depraved psycho."

Ethan's grip on the knife shifted, and his eyes scanned the walls around him.

"This is like Louisiana all over again."

"You mean like that crazy Baker family thing? Something was always fishy about the story they told everyone about them." Charlie only moves to follow him after he's cleared an area.

“The ‘Gas Leak?’ Yeah, I was there. Wasn’t even a convincing story, but the people bought it.”

Ethan led Charlie to a door, and slowly opened the door. The room had no one in it, but there were dozens of computers lining the dank wallpapered walls. A single white octagon graced the center of the opposing wall, and a red cross made from triangles sprouting from the center of the shape told Ethan all he needed to know.

“Umbrella. But… they went bankrupt…”

A clattering sound was heard from behind one of the doors.

“Shit. Hide.”

"Oh, shit." She finds a small closet, pulling him in there with him. She doesn't want him to die as much as she doesn't want to. It's dark and you can barely see through the slats of the closet but she stays still even in the uncomfortable and dusty closet.

Ethan makes himself as small as he can in the closet, trying not to impose on Charlie’s space.

A shadow crossed the closet, and a door clicked shut.

Ethan pulled Charlie out of the closet, and returned to navigating the hallways to get them out.

“You don’t happen to have any weapons on you?”

"No but..." She looks across the hall, finding a large long piece of metal, making her way ovwe there quietly. Charlie rips a piece of fabric off the bottom of her shirt, wrapping it the metal piece to make a grip. "We should get going..."

“Agreed.”

Ethan led Charlie through many other doors, until they finally found a stairwell.

“Let’s get out of this hellhole.”

"You gonna tell me about your hand situation?" She asks as she starts down the stairs, careful of anything above or below them.

“It’s… complicated. The Bakers were infected by a bioweapon. A weird… Mold. Of sorts. I got infected with it too, but I’m not contagious. I lost my fingers years later in Romania, and when my body stitched itself together again with the progenitor of the mold, my fingers were remade. Which, yay for backwards compatibility, but. Now I’m visibly inhuman.”

"Well, I'm glad you aren't dead then yet?" Smacking her neck as she's bitten by something.

“I’m glad too, I guess.”

Ethan walked down the stairs, before opening a door to a bright light. Much to his disappointment, it wasn’t the sun.

It was an abandoned lab, with the Umbrella logo looming above the entire room.

“Where the fuck are we?”

"Oooh, a map." She carefully pulls it from the wall and turns to show Ethan, "Does this help? It looks like were in a training facility...why would they have brought us here?"

“Beats me. All I know is we have to get the hell outta dodge before we are the training.”

"Looks to be an armory, you think we can hit it on the way out?"

“It’s on the way. We don’t grab anything too big though. Pistols, maybe a shotgun.”

"I'm too small to grab anything big. Lets get going?" She rushes quietly down the corridor.

Ethan follows her, and tests the door to the armory.

Locked, but it’s a simple enough one.

He crouches down, pulls a paperclip from his jacket, and begins picking the lock.

"You just know everthing, Huh?" She asks as she keeps on lookout for anyone else around, putting a hand on his shoulder when she hears shuffling.

"Experience and good teachers." He mumbled, before the lock clicks open.

"Would've just kicked the door in, but that's too loud."

He grabbed a pistol, checked its ammo, and held it it by the barrel. "You know how to shoot, right?" He said, pocketing a gun of his own.

"Yeah make sure the safety's off and keep both eyes open to make sure you have no blindspots. Finger on the side unless you're gonna shoot." She carefully grabs the gun making sure to handle it with care.

"Great. In a situation like this, keep that gun ready. Anyone and everyone'll get the drop on you."

"Do you have some military training or something? You seem like a military type guy."

"Trained with some military guys, but not technically. I'm a system engineer who graduated from CalTech."

"Sounds like you wanted a normal life. So much for that, huh?"

“I had it for over 30 years. Just unfortunate it couldn’t last longer.”

Ethan held his gun in his left hand, his right still keeping Charlie upright. Door after door, hallway after hallway, trying to find a way out.

"Jesus, this place is like a maze. It wasn't this complicated on the map...what happened?" Charlie keeps ahold of him, the gun in her other hand. Trying to keep her head from spinning.

Ethan keeps leading Charlie, until they finally open a door and droplets of rain splashed onto them.

“We’re out. Doesn’t mean it’s over. Let’s just get out of here.”

"God, what is that smell? Jesus." Charlie's nose scrunches at the putrid stench that seems to enamate from what looks to be a couple trash bags.

Ethan pulled Charlie away from the bags.

“Just don’t touch anything. Let’s find a police station, then we’re free.”

"Oh...It's moving, Ethan." She points her gun in the direction in case something pops out.

Ethan’s eyes widened.

“Run.”

He pulled Charlie away from the backs, gun raised to them.

Charlie gets behind him, looking for a way out but it's either back the way they came or past the moving trashbags. "Um...Ethan?"

“Past the bags, just as quick as possible.”

Charlie bolts past them, looking back to make sure Ethan's behind her. Grabbing her pistol and shooting one of the creatures that stood up behind him. "ETHAN, COME ON!"

Ethan shot one of the Infected in the head, and it fell over.

And then he ran to an abandoned car, pistol-whipped the window, and let himself in.

“Get in!”

"Holy fuck!" Charlie climbs in the window trying not to cut herself on the glass and climbs over the center console into the passenger, buckling up. Flipping down the visor to put the keys in the ignition for Ethan.

He started the car, and shifted into gear. He slammed on the gas and the car sped out into a larger road.

"Woah, Woah...Are you okay?" Her brows forrow as she notices a big of blood on the steering wheel.

"As you wish." She pours some into one of the many many different coffee cups she has and puts a single sugar in it, sliding it over to him.

"Thanks." Clint smiled still a bit tired and took the cup. "Coffee." He hummed quietly and took a sip.

"You look more tired this morning than usual, long night?" She drinks her own coffee and looks up at him over the rim of the cup.

"Short night." Clint said with a yawn and then emptied the hot coffee in one go.

Her eyes widen at how quick he drinks the hot coffee. "Um....Yeah I can see that. You need anymore coffee, Hun? I gotta get ready for work but I did pack you a lunch cause I made way too much."

"That's nice but you know you don't have to make lunch for me?" Clint said. He probably wouldn't eat much if she didn't but she doesn't have to know that.

"It's my way of saying 'thanks for letting me stay at your place cause my upstairs neighbors are dumbasses who bust water pipes.' Plus you gotta have carbs to burn, right?" Charlie knows he doesn't eat nearly enough and this is her way of paying him back since he wont let her give him money. Besides, she feels safer here than her own apartment since he's so diligent and deliberate about keeping this place safe. Not to mention her downstairs neighbor's a total creeper.

"Hey make carbs in that delicious soft cookies way again and I might burst your neighbor's water pipes again before they get fixed completely." Clint replied with a small grin. "Want me and Lucky to walk with you for a bit so you don't have to be alone all the way to your work place?"

"I mean I like your kitchen a lot more than mine, that's for sure. You don't have to burst my pipes for me to cook for you, Hun." She wipes her hands and her mouth off from the bagel she had been eating, grabbing her bag and her phone. "I'd actually love that, I've been on edge a lot when I go to and from work, feeling watched a lot actually. It's quite strange."

"I just have to get my shows and Lucky's leash and we can go. And if you want you can text me when you're off work and we come and pick you up. And before you say anything. No it wouldn't be a bother. Lucky has to go out for a walk anyway so we can also just go and waök with you." Clint said he hate it that she felt uncomfortable walking through the city.

"Yeah, I'd like that, actually." Charlie grabs the purple leash hanging by the door, trying to help Clint get situated so they can leave. "I mean I think sinxe staying here things have calmed d- ...What the fuck was that?" She catches a shadow passing one of the small windows in his apartment.

"Alright." Clint nodded and quickly put on his purple chucks. "What was what?" He asked and hurried back to her side. "We're on the top floor. It was probably just a pigeon."

"I hope so." She tries to focus on Clint instead of whatever she thought she saw, trying to distract herself. "Who's ready for a walk?" Charlie asks Lucky.

Lucky barked excitedly as he heard the word walk and ran to the door, back to Charlie and to the door again.

"Alright. Let's go. Before Lucky jumps through the closed door." Clint said and grabbed his keys.

"Oh Geeze, he's quite lively today." Charlie laughs and opens the front door, adjusting her bag on her shoulders. Making sure ti stay out of the excited dogs way.

Lucky walked down the strais in front of them.

Clint looked at Charlie for a moment. "Are you alright? You seem to be more tense then usual."

Charlie's shoulder bumps against his as they walk beside eachother, watching carefully to make sure no ones following them. "I'm alright, I just uneasy when I'm out and about. I guess. I've been feeling watched almost constantly. I mean even in the guest room it feels like someones just on the other side of the wall, just waiting."

Clint listened and nodded. "Don't worry. No one is following us. And if I'll take care of it." He promised. "Lucky and I will protect you."

"I really wish I didn't need protection though, Clint. I feel weak." Charlie shoves her hands in her pockets. "How are you always so calm? I mean you're the calmest person I know. It's as frustrating as it is comforting." Smiling up at him.

"Hey make carbs in that delicious soft cookies way again and I might burst your neighbor's water pipes again before they get fixed completely." Clint replied with a small grin. "Want me and Lucky to walk with you for a bit so you don't have to be alone all the way to your work place?"

"I just have to get my shows and Lucky's leash and we can go. And if you want you can text me when you're off work and we come and pick you up. And before you say anything. Lucky barked excitedly as he heard the word walk and ran to the door, back to Charlie and to the door again.

"Alright. Let's go. Before Lucky jumps through the closed door." Clint said and grabbed his keys.

Her boss complaining they don't have any brand new photos of Spiderman for the paper and whoever gets them before tomorrows deadline would get five hundred dollars added to their paycheck. So of course, she climbed up the fire escape of the tallest building she could onto the roof.

- It's a bit strange the items she finds up here, she doesn't see anyone but theres a strange smell that makes her a but anxious and a strange burlap mask but she ignores it to focus on taking the pictures and then BOOM, a bags put over her head. When she wakes, she finds herself beaten and bound, tired to a chair.

Was anyone kidnapped with her? Is anyone going to save her?

Niko had been out in Gotham as usual, there were a litter of kittens near a warehouse that he had been sneaking food too. He didn't eat as much as the matron gave anyway and he had done research! he had! there was a book in the library that said kitties could eat carrots and banana so he made sure to sneak them. He was sitting in between the three kitties and feeding them when he noticed a van approaching the warehouse. Huh, that was weird, only Scar's gang hung around here, and even Niko could see that scar was really, really bad at being a bad guy.

Oh, OH! it looked like they managed to kidnap someone!! that was bad! he had to do something! Niko waited till Scar and his gang got themselves slightly drunk, yelling about good money or something like that, Niko didn't really care enough to listen. The child quickly snuck into the warehouse and noticed that someone was tied up! ok, he was sure they kidnapped someone, this was bad. Niko quietly stayed where he was thinking to try and make a plan quickly when he noticed the person waking up.

For a few tense minutes he crouched right where he was listening for any sign that the drunk thugs had heard her. Phew, they hadn't. He quickly looked around for camera's, this is what he meant by scar being a bad bad guy, see not even one camera! well, it was all the better for Niko! He quietly walked closer and waved, "Hello" he whispered voice soft enough that it didnt echo, "Dont be loud, Scar will hear" he told her seriously

Charlie nods her head realizing how loud it can get in here even with the quietest of tones, a few grumbles can be heard from the drunk guards but other than that, it's silent.

Charlie tries to untie herself but the ropes are bound harshlt around her wrists causing it to be quite painful to even move an inch. She's been in much better condition then this.

"Okay...okay." She whispers, squinting her eyes at the bright light, her head pounding and throbbing.

Niko quietly checked the way the ropes were tied around her. He always had a few knives with him, And it looked like the rope could be cut.

"If I cut the rope, will you be able to walk? I wont cut if you cant walk, because otherwise Scar will find me and then we will both get tie up" he whispers to her "If walking hurts then I will try to call Бэтмен for you? Бэтмен will probably help more than me" he adds

Niko bites his lip for a second before tensing and freezing at a loud sound from outside. A minute passes...two...no one enters

Deciding that he probably would not be able to get batman here in time, Niko decisively takes out his pocket knife.

"I will cut the rope now" He whispers to her before getting to work, small hands exerting quite a bit of effort, carefully cutting the rope till she was able to move again.

Once they manage to get all the ropes off, the child gestures at her to stay put for a second before he scurried back to where he entered the warehouse from.

there were two ways of entering the warehouse, one of which was a small opening in a place where a vent used to be. Niko had snuck inside through there but he wasn’t sure if the other would be able to fit through.

He quietly ran back to where she was sitting whispering to her “We have to go out before Scar sees, Scar is not smart but if he hits it hurts very very much. I came by fitting inside small door, We have to check if you can also fit inside small door. Come quietly!”

Ethan sat, strapped to a chair, next to a woman he'd never met, and he had the worst headache imaginable.

His body was in rough shape. His chem fluid was nowhere to be found.

He managed to cough out the words "You wouldn't happen to be Chris's sister, Claire, would you?" through his gritted teeth.

His eyes seemed to glint orange in the limited lighting the enclosed room gave. His two prosthetic fingers were black and gross looking, and a single long scar ran all around his left wrist.

He blinks hard, and a small shik could be heard. The ropes fall from his torso, and he holds a small pocket knife. He quickly undoes his leg restraints and starts cutting Charlie free.

He closed the pocketknife, switched it to its largest blade, and held it in a reverse grip.

His glossy black fingers catch the light again, and Charlie could swear that they rippled.

Ethan's grip on the knife shifted, and his eyes scanned the walls around him.

Ethan led Charlie to a door, and slowly opened the door. The room had no one in it, but there were dozens of computers lining the dank wallpapered walls. A single white octagon graced the center of the opposing wall, and a red cross made from triangles sprouting from the center of the shape told Ethan all he needed to know.

“Umbrella. But… they went bankrupt…”

A clattering sound was heard from behind one of the doors.

"Oh, shit." She finds a small closet, pulling him in there with him. She doesn't want him to die as much as she doesn't want to. It's dark and you can barely see through the slats of the closet but she stays still even in the uncomfortable and dusty closet.

Ethan makes himself as small as he can in the closet, trying not to impose on Charlie’s space.

A shadow crossed the closet, and a door clicked shut.

Ethan pulled Charlie out of the closet, and returned to navigating the hallways to get them out.

“You don’t happen to have any weapons on you?”

"No but..." She looks across the hall, finding a large long piece of metal, making her way ovwe there quietly. Charlie rips a piece of fabric off the bottom of her shirt, wrapping it the metal piece to make a grip. "We should get going..."

“Let’s get out of this hellhole.”

"Trained with some military guys, but not technically. I'm a system engineer who graduated from CalTech."

She's walking around later and accidentally bumps into him. "Woah, Holy shit. You scared me. I didn't think anyone was out here. How- How'd you get here? I- I could've sworn I was alone besides the jaguar over..." Charlie looks over to where the big cat had been, now vanished. "there?"

"Huh? I might need some rest, my heads playing trick." Thinking to herself.

"Perdón, Bonita. I didn't want to scare you." Adriano apologizes and then frowns at what she told him. "A Jaguar? Here in New York? Outside the zoo? Are you sure?"

"I don't know...I've been seeing things as of late, I suppose?" It's clearly not something she wishes to tell him or anyone, ashamed by it almost.

"I mean under certain circumstances it is possible you saw a black jaguar. Maybe it broke out of the zoo or some crazy man is holding it as a pet and it ran away from home." He shrugged. "Oh! But where she my manners. Hola. I'm Adriano. Nice to meet you, Bonita." He smiled at her and offered her his hand.

"Oh, Hi. I'm Charlie. It's really nice to meet you. Wait...H- How did you know it was black?" She's confused but it's been a long day and maybe she's just dehydrated? Charlie offers her hand to him to shake regardless evwn if she is a bit suspicious.

"Didn't you say it was black?" Adriano asked and blzshed almost unnoticeable. "It's nice to meet you Charlie."

"No, I don't think so but...it's nice to meet you too." She's blushing as well but not nearly as hidden as his. "A bit warm out here, Isn't it?"

"Si. A warm summer night. I like it." He answered and looked around. Except for the two of them the streets were completely empty

"I didn't realize it was so late, time passes so strangely sometimes." She looks up at the stars, suprised to see how beautiful they are tonight, quite bright. "I guess the clouds burned off."

"Clouds burn?" Adriano could speak english but he sometimes had problems understanding idioms.

"Oh, um...since clouds are made from condensed water. When it gets hot, the sun burns them into humidity...technically "burning" them off. Does that make sense?" She smiles at him with a kind and sincere expression trying to make sure it makes sense.

"Sí. That's makes sense. Thanks for explaining it to me. I still don't understand all American sayings." He told her snd smiled back at Charlie

"Well, I'm American and half of them don't make sense to me either. Don't feel bad." She gives him a reassuring smile as she walks with him.

"As you wish." She pours some into one of the many many different coffee cups she has and puts a single sugar in it, sliding it over to him.

"Thanks." Clint smiled still a bit tired and took the cup. "Coffee." He hummed quietly and took a sip.

"You look more tired this morning than usual, long night?" She drinks her own coffee and looks up at him over the rim of the cup.

"Short night." Clint said with a yawn and then emptied the hot coffee in one go.

Her eyes widen at how quick he drinks the hot coffee. "Um....Yeah I can see that. You need anymore coffee, Hun? I gotta get ready for work but I did pack you a lunch cause I made way too much."

"That's nice but you know you don't have to make lunch for me?" Clint said. He probably wouldn't eat much if she didn't but she doesn't have to know that.

"It's my way of saying 'thanks for letting me stay at your place cause my upstairs neighbors are dumbasses who bust water pipes.' Plus you gotta have carbs to burn, right?" Charlie knows he doesn't eat nearly enough and this is her way of paying him back since he wont let her give him money. Besides, she feels safer here than her own apartment since he's so diligent and deliberate about keeping this place safe. Not to mention her downstairs neighbor's a total creeper.

"Hey make carbs in that delicious soft cookies way again and I might burst your neighbor's water pipes again before they get fixed completely." Clint replied with a small grin. "Want me and Lucky to walk with you for a bit so you don't have to be alone all the way to your work place?"

"I mean I like your kitchen a lot more than mine, that's for sure. You don't have to burst my pipes for me to cook for you, Hun." She wipes her hands and her mouth off from the bagel she had been eating, grabbing her bag and her phone. "I'd actually love that, I've been on edge a lot when I go to and from work, feeling watched a lot actually. It's quite strange."

"I just have to get my shows and Lucky's leash and we can go. And if you want you can text me when you're off work and we come and pick you up. And before you say anything. No it wouldn't be a bother. Lucky has to go out for a walk anyway so we can also just go and waök with you." Clint said he hate it that she felt uncomfortable walking through the city.

"Yeah, I'd like that, actually." Charlie grabs the purple leash hanging by the door, trying to help Clint get situated so they can leave. "I mean I think sinxe staying here things have calmed d- ...What the fuck was that?" She catches a shadow passing one of the small windows in his apartment.

"Alright." Clint nodded and quickly put on his purple chucks. "What was what?" He asked and hurried back to her side. "We're on the top floor. It was probably just a pigeon."

"I hope so." She tries to focus on Clint instead of whatever she thought she saw, trying to distract herself. "Who's ready for a walk?" Charlie asks Lucky.

- Charlie had been going about her day at the Bugle like normal. Her boss complaining they don't have any brand new photos of Spiderman for the paper and whoever gets them before tomorrows deadline would get five hundred dollars added to their paycheck. So of course, she climbed up the fire escape of the tallest building she could onto the roof.

- It's a bit strange the items she finds up here, she doesn't see anyone but theres a strange smell that makes her a but anxious and a strange burlap mask but she ignores it to focus on taking the pictures and then BOOM, a bags put over her head. When she wakes, she finds herself beaten and bound, tired to a chair.

Was anyone kidnapped with her? Is anyone going to save her?

This was bullshit.

Absolute bullshit.

Ethan sat, strapped to a chair, next to a woman he'd never met, and he had the worst headache imaginable.

His body was in rough shape. His chem fluid was nowhere to be found.

He managed to cough out the words "You wouldn't happen to be Chris's sister, Claire, would you?" through his gritted teeth.

His eyes seemed to glint orange in the limited lighting the enclosed room gave. His two prosthetic fingers were black and gross looking, and a single long scar ran all around his left wrist.

"M- My names Charlie." Charlie has to shout over the mechanical grinding noise that drowns out most other noises. She asks as she squints her eyes and tries to fight the migraine behind her eyes. "Who are you? Where are we? Um- Are you alright?"

"Ethan. And I can't believe I'm stuck in a horror movie a-fucking-gain."

He blinks hard, and a small shik could be heard. The ropes fall from his torso, and he holds a small pocket knife. He quickly undoes his leg restraints and starts cutting Charlie free.

"Don't know where we are. And I've not been alright for a loooong time. No hope on that front."

He closed the pocketknife, switched it to its largest blade, and held it in a reverse grip.

His glossy black fingers catch the light again, and Charlie could swear that they rippled.

"You get kidnapped regularly, Ethan?" She's confused as she struggles to untie herself from the chair but eventually does, standing up a little too quickly and has to sit back down. "Where were you hiding that big knife? What's up with your fingers?"

"This is... third time, I think? And, uhh. Jacket. Sewn in. And the fingers... later. I'll tell you later. Just, please. Don't die."

Ethan held his normal hand out to Charlie, before wrapping it under her arms and holding her upright.

"You just punch anything you see, okay? Just get it away. I'll get you out of here."

"Three times? Geeze, I guess it really does sound like a horror movie." She holds onto hin to stay upright, feeling very disoriented. "Yeah, Yeah...I can do that. Do you have any idea of who might have taken us or wanted to? I mean if feels so random?"

"Honestly? No. Could be Connections, could be a mad ex of Ada, could just be some depraved psycho."

Ethan's grip on the knife shifted, and his eyes scanned the walls around him.

"This is like Louisiana all over again."

"You mean like that crazy Baker family thing? Something was always fishy about the story they told everyone about them." Charlie only moves to follow him after he's cleared an area.

“The ‘Gas Leak?’ Yeah, I was there. Wasn’t even a convincing story, but the people bought it.”

Ethan led Charlie to a door, and slowly opened the door. The room had no one in it, but there were dozens of computers lining the dank wallpapered walls. A single white octagon graced the center of the opposing wall, and a red cross made from triangles sprouting from the center of the shape told Ethan all he needed to know.

“Umbrella. But… they went bankrupt…”

A clattering sound was heard from behind one of the doors.

“Shit. Hide.”

"Oh, shit." She finds a small closet, pulling him in there with him. She doesn't want him to die as much as she doesn't want to. It's dark and you can barely see through the slats of the closet but she stays still even in the uncomfortable and dusty closet.

Ethan makes himself as small as he can in the closet, trying not to impose on Charlie’s space.

A shadow crossed the closet, and a door clicked shut.

Ethan pulled Charlie out of the closet, and returned to navigating the hallways to get them out.

“You don’t happen to have any weapons on you?”

"No but..." She looks across the hall, finding a large long piece of metal, making her way ovwe there quietly. Charlie rips a piece of fabric off the bottom of her shirt, wrapping it the metal piece to make a grip. "We should get going..."

“Agreed.”

Ethan led Charlie through many other doors, until they finally found a stairwell.

“Let’s get out of this hellhole.”

"You gonna tell me about your hand situation?" She asks as she starts down the stairs, careful of anything above or below them.

“It’s… complicated. The Bakers were infected by a bioweapon. A weird… Mold. Of sorts. I got infected with it too, but I’m not contagious. I lost my fingers years later in Romania, and when my body stitched itself together again with the progenitor of the mold, my fingers were remade. Which, yay for backwards compatibility, but. Now I’m visibly inhuman.”

"Well, I'm glad you aren't dead then yet?" Smacking her neck as she's bitten by something.

“I’m glad too, I guess.”

Ethan walked down the stairs, before opening a door to a bright light. Much to his disappointment, it wasn’t the sun.

It was an abandoned lab, with the Umbrella logo looming above the entire room.

“Where the fuck are we?”

"Oooh, a map." She carefully pulls it from the wall and turns to show Ethan, "Does this help? It looks like were in a training facility...why would they have brought us here?"

“Beats me. All I know is we have to get the hell outta dodge before we are the training.”

"Looks to be an armory, you think we can hit it on the way out?"

“It’s on the way. We don’t grab anything too big though. Pistols, maybe a shotgun.”

"I'm too small to grab anything big. Lets get going?" She rushes quietly down the corridor.

Ethan follows her, and tests the door to the armory.

Locked, but it’s a simple enough one.

He crouches down, pulls a paperclip from his jacket, and begins picking the lock.

"You just know everthing, Huh?" She asks as she keeps on lookout for anyone else around, putting a hand on his shoulder when she hears shuffling.

"Experience and good teachers." He mumbled, before the lock clicks open.

"Would've just kicked the door in, but that's too loud."

He grabbed a pistol, checked its ammo, and held it it by the barrel. "You know how to shoot, right?" He said, pocketing a gun of his own.

"Yeah make sure the safety's off and keep both eyes open to make sure you have no blindspots. Finger on the side unless you're gonna shoot." She carefully grabs the gun making sure to handle it with care.

"Great. In a situation like this, keep that gun ready. Anyone and everyone'll get the drop on you."

"Do you have some military training or something? You seem like a military type guy."

"Trained with some military guys, but not technically. I'm a system engineer who graduated from CalTech."

"Sounds like you wanted a normal life. So much for that, huh?"

“I had it for over 30 years. Just unfortunate it couldn’t last longer.”

Ethan held his gun in his left hand, his right still keeping Charlie upright. Door after door, hallway after hallway, trying to find a way out.

"Jesus, this place is like a maze. It wasn't this complicated on the map...what happened?" Charlie keeps ahold of him, the gun in her other hand. Trying to keep her head from spinning.

Ethan keeps leading Charlie, until they finally open a door and droplets of rain splashed onto them.

“We’re out. Doesn’t mean it’s over. Let’s just get out of here.”

"God, what is that smell? Jesus." Charlie's nose scrunches at the putrid stench that seems to enamate from what looks to be a couple trash bags.

Ethan pulled Charlie away from the bags.

“Just don’t touch anything. Let’s find a police station, then we’re free.”

"Oh...It's moving, Ethan." She points her gun in the direction in case something pops out.

Ethan’s eyes widened.

“Run.”

He pulled Charlie away from the backs, gun raised to them.

Niko had been out in Gotham as usual, there were a litter of kittens near a warehouse that he had been sneaking food too. He didn't eat as much as the matron gave anyway and he had done research! he had! there was a book in the library that said kitties could eat carrots and banana so he made sure to sneak them. He was sitting in between the three kitties and feeding them when he noticed a van approaching the warehouse. Huh, that was weird, only Scar's gang hung around here, and even Niko could see that scar was really, really bad at being a bad guy.

Oh, OH! it looked like they managed to kidnap someone!! that was bad! he had to do something! Niko waited till Scar and his gang got themselves slightly drunk, yelling about good money or something like that, Niko didn't really care enough to listen. The child quickly snuck into the warehouse and noticed that someone was tied up! ok, he was sure they kidnapped someone, this was bad. Niko quietly stayed where he was thinking to try and make a plan quickly when he noticed the person waking up.

"Hello? Is anyone there?" Her eyes squint from the light suprised to see the kid infront of her, her head throbs and she's even more confused. "Woah, oh, hi?"

Niko's eyes widened before he frantically gestured at her to shush. He had been here many times, the warehouse made his voice very loud even when he spoke quietly! He was afraid Scar would have heard her!

For a few tense minutes he crouched right where he was listening for any sign that the drunk thugs had heard her. Phew, they hadn't. He quickly looked around for camera's, this is what he meant by scar being a bad bad guy, see not even one camera! well, it was all the better for Niko! He quietly walked closer and waved, "Hello" he whispered voice soft enough that it didnt echo, "Dont be loud, Scar will hear" he told her seriously

Charlie nods her head realizing how loud it can get in here even with the quietest of tones, a few grumbles can be heard from the drunk guards but other than that, it's silent.

Charlie tries to untie herself but the ropes are bound harshlt around her wrists causing it to be quite painful to even move an inch. She's been in much better condition then this.

"Okay...okay." She whispers, squinting her eyes at the bright light, her head pounding and throbbing.

Niko quietly checked the way the ropes were tied around her. He always had a few knives with him, And it looked like the rope could be cut.

"If I cut the rope, will you be able to walk? I wont cut if you cant walk, because otherwise Scar will find me and then we will both get tie up" he whispers to her "If walking hurts then I will try to call Бэтмен for you? Бэтмен will probably help more than me" he adds
