Giggling at the comment, she pursed her lips in mock thought. “But how would you know if it’s the real Good Place, or the Bad Place disguised as the Good Place? It’s going to be an eternal puzzle for everyone now.” She sighed a little too deeply, before chuckling once more. “I don’t think being like Rachel is a bad thing. Honestly, as long as nobody calls you a Ross you’re golden. Cause… who wants to be Ross?”
Charlie’s mouth opened in shock. “The Good Place isn’t actually the good place?” She had managed to avoid any spoilers, because she knew stuff got crazier in the new season and didn’t want to find out too early... But she didn’t think things got that crazy. “Ahhh, I see. I never watched Friends so, I’m kinda clueless on all the characters.”
She’d been running her normal route around the park, or at least attempting to, when she felt herself getting out of breath and stopping using whatever was closest to her to hold herself upright. Belatedly realising it was a swingset, she turned at the voice, trying to force a smile onto her face. “I’m sure doing something she loves but you hate, will earn you some major good karma points.” The words came out more staggered than she’d like, but she quickly brushed away the thought. “I thought everyone loved swings though… apart from Rachel in Friends, but that was a weird episode.”
“Hmm... you’re right. I might even end up in the Good Place.” Charlie was happy she made the reference. She never watched TV shows as a kid, so that translated into her adult life. Lately though, she’d stayed up watching shows that she saw Holly watching, so she could now reference some things. “Oh no... Am I a Rachel?” She knew Rachel was a little crazy, so was that even considered a bad thing?
“Seems like you’re stuck swinging,” Ash agreed with a soft laugh, dragging her feet through the woodchips as she swung back and forth slowly, “I’ve always loved them myself, though I’m sure hanging out here alone isn’t doing me many favors. My–My kids are a bit too old to come here.” She couldn’t help but stumble over the words—it still seemed odd to consider any of them as her children, even though three of them legally were. Legal adoption papers and everything. Shaking the train of thought from her mind, she glanced back over at the woman and the little girl beside her, “She’s beautiful. I can see how it would be hard to say ‘no’.”
Charlie gave a small chuckle before speaking again. “I know... But its worth it to hear her little giggle.” At that exact moment, Abby decided to give her most adorable laugh. It took everything in Charlie not to start sobbing at her adorableness right then and there. “Not really... If I’m being honest I was a little creeped out seeing you here, and almost called the cops. But now that I know you’re a mom... You’re not so bad. How old are your kids?” Charlie’s mind immediately brought up memories of her best friend. “Yeah I know...”
lorelai had decided to take aiden on a walk to get him to go to sleep. sure, it was two hours before his usual bed time but she really needed him to just settle down at least. pushing the stroller with her good arm, she thought the one and a half year old finally drifted to sleep. however, she was proved wrong when they crossed paths with an officer, close in her age, in uniform which got the young boy in the stroller to start calling, and eventually hysterically screaming for his dad, “da.. da.. dada..” the blonde felt her heart sink deep into her chest, as she reminded the child that it wasn’t his father, that his father wasn’t with them anymore. of course, the boy was far too young to understand. at this point, rory lost all of the remaining composure at the screaming child and scolded, “he isn’t coming back!” hot tears continued falling down her cheeks. her action causing the child throwing a fit to toss his bottle, directly hitting the person walking in front of them. “-i-i’m so sorry.” she mumbled to the person who was hit as she retrieved the bottle for the scene that was being caused and for them getting hit. placing the bottle inside the stroller before straining to remove aiden to comfort him, post her outburst, pain of her wounded shoulder causing more tears to fall out as she held the screaming boy close to her.
Charlie had been ready to scream at whoever threw the bottle at her face, before turning and realizing that it wasn’t an adult who did it, but a baby. All anger diminished, and she gave the mother a small smile. “It’s okay. Don’t worry about it.” She stepped closer to the woman, and said, “I have some of those little cereal puffs in my bag if you want to give him some... See if he calms down?” She wasn’t sure if the other woman had better ways of calming the baby down, but whenever Abby got upset, Charlie just shoved some puffs in her mouth and she was instantly soothed.
The volume of Charlie’s voice caused a momentary panic in Holly, initiating a soft “Shhhh!” and a frantic hand gesture to please lower the noise level. Which isn’t to say that the whispering did anything to quell her frustration with the dark-haired woman, leaning in closer to point an accusatory finger. “It is I-don’t-even-want-to-know o’clock and I have not gotten a lick of sleep because somebody decided to give three-helpings of ice cream to the kids. And then somebody left for work while I have been dealin’ with cryin’ babies and hyperactive little kids for hours. I’m. Going. To. Kill. You.”
Charlie rolled her eyes. She thought she’d done something worse like... Forget to put a diaper on Abby. But no, this was just about ice cream. “You know Dylan likes to have dessert.” She felt ridiculous having to whisper. What 30 year old woman as hot as her had to do this? “How could I say no to him? Have you seen that face he gives you when you say no? You probably don’t cause you’re mean and don’t let them have fun! And who cares if they’re hyperactive? That’s how kids are.”
Charlie never thought she could be as tired as she had been lately. How could someone be this exhausted? The kids showed no sign of calming down, so she figured going out to a park was the best thing right now. Tossing all the things she needed into a bag, and double checking to make sure she had both the kids (she’d left poor Abigail at home once, but only once and for five minutes only) and ran out the door. Dylan thankfully was old enough to play on a playground by himself for the most part, but Abby still needed some supervision. Charlie sat on a swing, and, holding Abby, started swinging. She looked to her left, and spoke to the person closest to her. “I really hate these things, but she,” She gestured to Abby. “Loves them. So, really, what else is there to do?”
the house has fallen quiet, nothing but crickets and the dull murmur of the living room television to provide background noise. but rather than a peaceful scene, holly is still dealing with the remnants of a horrible bedtime. between a sugar-fueled four-year-old who decided to pull his very best peter pan impression of “i won’t go to bed! i won’t! i won’t!” for the last three hours, and a one-year-old whose teething phase has caused her to wake up crying hysterically every half hour, holly is drained. and well-beyond pissed off. which means that, nearly as soon as charlie walks through the front door, she’s whipping a throw pillow at her face and whisper-yelling, “i’m going to kill you!”
Sure, every time she walked through the door, she got yelled at by Holly. But Charlie had never been greeted by a pillow before, and especially not an ugly one. “What the hell?” she said at a normal volume before realizing the kids were most likely asleep. “What is wrong with you?” she asked after lowering her voice to match Holly’s. She had been hoping to come home, and relax after her very long night. Bartending sucked when you had gross men continuously asking to hop back there and do some questionable things with you. “What did I do now?”
Education: Granduated college with a degree in business
Sexuality: Lesbian
Quick Facts: (tw: death, homophobia)
So my girl charlie
who is only charlie bc it pisses off her parents who prefer her more “feminine” name
she was raised like a rich girl. and she was this typical rich girl persona
like super shallow, super rude to everyone even her parents u know
in her defense her parents werent the best
she tried to come out to them, but they told her she wasn’t allowed??? like it was so ridiculous, so she had to hide herself and was never accepted by them
she didnt care about how she spent her money, like she got a scratch on her gucci bag?? oh well throw that shit in the trash and buy a new one
so the only person she wasnt mean to, was her wonderful best friend!!
whom she was secretly in love with but shhhh
they were super close, and knew each other since they were really young
so, a year before her best friend passed, charlie’s parents lost ALL their money. like were flat broke and her dad is even in jail bc they were in some STUFF
so she had to learn how to live like a “poor girl”, as she put it. but her friend helped her through it
with no reason left to talk to her parents, she officially cut ties with them, but every now and again they try to call her for something, but she ignores them
tw: death
when her best friend died, she was so devastated. that was the only person whom she truly loved, and felt like that was the only person who loved her
and while she was honored to have been chosen to take care of her friends’ children, she almost said no, bc she never wanted to have kids
she was afraid she’d be like her parents :(
but she said yes, bc how could u say no to those kids??
after her best friend’s death
and while she was worried about how she would take care of them with holly, she knows she has to make it work
after her friend’s passing, she realized that she was a horrible person and immediately changed how she was. shes a little more tolerable now, but still occasionally acts shallow
andywayyy, her secret:
so she’s poor now, and shes raising some kids, but now all of a sudden she wants to go to school??
she never wanted to study business, she only did it bc she was gonna take over her parent’s company
she was always really interested in teaching
like if there were any ppl she liked, it was kids, albiet she was kinda rude to them, but in a funny way??
so she wants to go back to school to teach elementary school or smth
some wcs:
some new friends!! shes a lonely gal :((
she really has no time for relationships and hasn’t fully come to terms with her sexuality, so she really just sleeps around, with men too probably
