From the forth coming Christian Vasseur and Charlie Beresford LP ‘Les amoureuses’ available from the 2nd June on the glorious Ramble Records
France et Belgique merci.
Well that was a blast. Another wonderful tour with Christian. Christian and my project moved into a new realm this time. A whole new form presented itself and I am excited as to where this journey will take us. A big thank you to all who were involved in hosting and hosted our performances, old friends and new.Â
We were joined at Le 188 in Lille by dancer and choreographer extraordinaire Nathalie Baldo which added a whole new dimension. That evening also contained a gripping performance by the electro rap group Système Nuit, quite a night.
Below is the video taken from the live stream at YIAP in Brussels.
Merci à tous!!

This World may be surreal but it is having it’s moments.
Just back from Vienna having played with Alen Ilijic and Wei-Ya Lin.
We can all moan about how our lives have worked out, but for all the trials and tribulations of mine I have been fortunate to have been at the right place and time to meet all the great people I work with. I don’t just work with them they are friends. As a consequence I have had many defining moments. This was another one of those moments when all of the nonsense of the world disappears and you find yourself in a timeless state where all seems possible. It felt especially so at this time when the world outside resembles the many poor dystopian movies there are out there.Â
There was a poignancy to this performance. Many times we had been thwarted over the last 2 years to get together and play and there were moments when it looked as though this time may not happen also. But suddenly we found ourselves together in a room, in the case of Alen and I the room we had met for the first time in 2019. We had made the decision to work together and then we all know what happened next. Taking to the floor, though Wei-Ya and I have played many times together, it was the first time either of us had struck notes with Alen. From the moment of taking my seat to the final note, there was not one ounce of fear the instant mutual trust made one feel hugely courageous. As the piece came to an end there was that strange moment of waking up and realising that there were actually other people in the room.Â
A truly remarkable time. Very big thank you to the whole aNother festival team and to Helga for putting us up (and the German lessons). It was so sad to leave, having made new friendships and strengthened old ones. There will be more from this trio this year and there may be a guest or two along the way. Vienna I will be back soon!!

Christian and I live in concert in Brussels just before the world went into lock down last year.
After a very quiet spell I am pleased to finally announce that the Beresford Vasseur record will soon be released on the 52nd. It is the recording of a live concert performed in Belgium last year before what happened to us all. The record will be available in two sleeve versions, French and English. More on release date very soon.
Well, well, well.
Well that was a year for us all to remember or forget.
Creatively it had it’s moments. Started well with a nice series of concerts with Christian Vasseur in France and Belgium in January an album taken from live recordings will be released on The 52nd next year.
What? released a record just as lockdown in the UK started. Great timing.

Also a record was recorded with my old partner in sonic crime Tim Harries.

Fourth Page managed to record an album in the chaos between lockdowns. We were featured on the BBC Radio 3 show Freeness. The piece in question was commissioned by Jazz South. Â

Work has started on a new Beresford Hammond album and I am still tinkering about under the hood of a solo record.
Well that’s it for now. All that is left to say is that wherever you are and however life has treated you in these difficult times, I wish you a peace and as joyous a time as you can make it.
Take care.

Quietly intense music that combines fragments of jazz with experimental English folk.
Fourth Page are featured artists on tonight's Freeness on BBC Radio 3.
The "What?" quartet create a mesmerising and unclassifiable music that at times sounds like the score from a film you saw in a dream.
In line with the generosity of Bandcamp waivering their fees this Friday 1st May I send the link to The 52nd site.  As well as the being able to buy the back catalogue you can purchase the physical CD of ‘What?’. Recent reviews of said CD can be found at:

Also available is the new  ‘Beresford Harries - Neutral Tones’. Take care in these testing times.x
Before the world went to Hell in a hand cart I was fortunate to go to Northern France and Belgium and play some shows with Christian Vasseur. I look forward to the return of those days again. Here is a glimpse into our little world. I am currently mixing the live recordings from that tour. This film contains one of those performances.

In line with the generosity of Bandcamp wavering their fees this Friday 20th March I send the link to The 52nd site. We had to cancel the ‘What?’ CD launch due to take place on that very night. As well as the being able to buy the back catalogue you can pre-order the physical CD of ‘What?’ and the download album of ‘Beresford Harries - Neutral Tones’. Take care in these testing times.x
20th March Concert postponed.
It is with regret that we have had to cancel this Friday’s performance. As all will be aware considering the current climate regarding the current outbreak of Corvid-19 we thought it better to postpone the concert until a time when it is considered wise to stage it again.
Take care.
