my dad was off for two weeks after a health scare & they weren't counting it as vacation time like he said too-- they won't be able to get us a paycheck until fucking saturday & we have bills to pay . . . guys im genuinely fucking panicking rn .

things i still think about: Ernie would have absolutely allowed Miguel to return back to the Land of the Living with Héctor’s photo IF his secret about murdering Héctor hadn’t been revealed at that moment.

I truly think he was considering the option, there was a hint of affection and sadness as he held Héctor’s photo off to the side but I think there is a hesitance there at the same time because he DOES hold some contempt for his old friend ( and it shows when you consider the words he says to him when he’s being outed in front of his fans: “you think i’d let him go back to the land of the living with your photo? to keep your MEMORY alive? NO.” ) and i think the root of that contempt is that Héctor would NEVER love him as much as he loves his family and ESPECIALLY his daughter, so to him, ( remember, Ernesto is very narcissistic and self - centered ) letting him return to the land of the living to visit Coco is… him essentially letting go of that.

But that’s just the thing about Ernesto and Héctor - he doesn’t WANT to let go of him. Keeping him confined in the land of the dead is a comfort to Ernesto because Ernesto does not have any family to visit in the land of the living; no connection like that - and he both envies Héctor and wishes to keep him as a person similar to him in whatever aspect he can.

The most important aspect to Ernesto in achieving this is isolating Héctor. He’s lonely and miserable despite his fame, and because he cannot give actual shape to his emptiness and believes he’s done the right thing, he believes that keeping Héctor lonely would ultimately have him running back to him in some way.

That obviously did not happen, so by the time they meet again, Ernesto IS genuinely frightened of the fact he’s being forgotten, but there’s a disappointment there in knowing that Héctor isn’t there for him - he’s still looking for a way to return to his family.

remember that this is always a slow time for the rpc. as we get deeper into the holiday season, remember that people are finishing classes and taking big tests. they're slammed at work or taking on extra jobs to pay the bills. people are stressed about money or family, figuring out flights or trips, dreading the colder weather, struggling to put food on the table. some people are experiencing more dark outside than light, which might mess their schedule up a bit. some deal with seasonal depression during these months.

when your dash is slower and quieter this time of year, and when less people are liking your posts or sending memes, it doesn't mean the community is dying or we're all headed for the end times. i understand that less interactions or less support might be discouraging, especially when some of us are already dealing with the doom and gloom of darker, colder months and the stress of the holiday season... but please don't turn around and scold people for their inactivity or their lack of enthusiasm. don't get fatalistic about the fate of this community and declare it prematurely dead. this period of time always happens every year. now is not the time for unfair expectations. now is the time for kindness, generosity, understanding, encouragement, and love. now is the time for "take your time with replies," and "talk to me if you need anything. i'm here for you."

My dog Ralph needs a very expensive dental surgery

aka 'on this week's episode of 'Pyro goes through a financial crisis'!

So; recently those of you who have me on discord may remember I mentioned Ralph had to go to the vet for a neck injury. I even mentioned needing help with that vet bill, however when I took him in for his check up on that today; they also checked his teeth discovering he has a tooth issue near the back of his mouth that has resulted in the tooth more or less being completely detached from the jaw but not able to come out, hurting both his jaw and his tooth. If I don't handle this, and quickly, it will likely become infected and abscess which would result in him being in a lot of pain, and possibly even passing away. It's apparently a pretty common issue that happens with Dachshunds that I didn't know about; and yet here we are.

Either way; they quoted me about $1,500 total after all the blood work, medications, and the surgery itself. This would pretty much take the entirety of what I have in my bank leaving nothing for me to live on so....

I would really appreciate some commissions or donations!!
