Procrastination is your mind’s way of exercising its power. It doesn’t care what it is you have to do. All it cares is about being in control. “Oh, yeah? Something I don’t want to do needs to be done? F*** that. I’m gonna sit here and binge this show for the next 4 hours. I’m in control here, not some business deadline or class project.” . I don’t remember where I heard this idea. But it rings so true with me. Last night even. I knew I wanted to go to bed early so I could get up early to go to the gym, meditate and get ready for work. But there I was, 30 minutes after my bedtime, on Instagram looking at memes. Luckily, what was going on finally hit me. So, I set the phone down, rolled over and went to sleep. .
