“The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the future less resolved than it will be.”

everyone does not hate you or think you're embarrassing. your insecurities are lying to you. the people around you actually appreciate you a lot. the right people do care about you, and they think you're awesome. don't beat yourself up thinking others see you as something you're not.
“I am constantly trying to communicate something incommunicable, to explain something inexplicable, to tell about something I only feel in my bones…”
— Franz Kafka
“Something in me wants more. I can’t rest.”
— Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals
One of the most challenging things I’ve had to learn is that healing must be intentional. There is no one golden day that comes and saves you from all your misery. Healing is a practice. You have to decide that it’s what you want to do and actively do it. You have to make a habit out of it. Once I learned that, I only looked back to see how far I came.
“You alone are enough. You have nothing to prove to anybody.”
— Maya Angelou
“I can’t emphasize enough the importance of solo adventures. Everything from eating lunch by yourself to strolling in the park alone all help to shape your sense of independence. If you’re never by yourself how will you ever know yourself.”
— Unknown
Your competition isn’t other people.
Your competition is your procrastination. Your ego.
The unhealthy food you’re consuming, the
knowledge you neglect. The negative behavior you’re nurturing and your lack of creativity.
Compete against that.”

“Don’t be so cool you can’t cry. Don’t be so smart you can’t wonder. Don’t be so set on your sunny days that you can’t love the roll of thunder.”
— Anonymous
you’re not falling behind. you are still young and have a whole life ahead of you. you have enough time to explore things u love and experience your life and make your goals come true and find reasons to live. take things one day at a time and don’t let the fear of falling behind stop you because life isn’t a race.
“I think that we live or die under the tyranny of perfection. Socially, we are pushed towards being perfect. Physically, beautiful to conform to standards that are cruel and uncommon, to behave and lead our lives in a certain way, to demonstrate to the world that we are happy and healthy and all full of sunshine. We are told to always smile and never sweat, by multiple commercials of shampoo or beer. And I feel that the most achievable goal of our lives is to have the freedom that imperfection gives us. And there is no better patron saint of imperfection than a monster. We will try really hard to be angels, but I think that a balanced, sane life is to accept the monstrosity in ourselves and others as part of what being human is. Imperfection, the acceptance of imperfection, leads to tolerance and liberates us from social models that I find horrible and oppressive.”
— Guillermo del Toro, Ask Me Anything
I want to fall to sleep with you, and I could care less whether it is in layers upon layers of clothing or only our skin - all I really want is to wake up not knowing where I end and you begin.
Beau Taplin (via perrfectly)
Not knowing what your passion is, is hard. Don’t give up on yourself. You will find it, or it will find you :)
A lover doesn’t discourage your growth. A lover says, ‘I see who you are today, I cannot wait to see who you become tomorrow.’
Donte Collins (via wnq-writers)
Don’t miss out on Donte’s incredible book, Autopsy.

Expose yourself to your greatest fear. After that, fear has no power. You are free.
Jim Morrison (via psych-facts)
Do not resist. Take it. Be overwhelmed. Accept it fully. Make it part of life. Everything in life that we really accept undergoes a change. So suffering must become Love. This is the mystery. This is what I must do.
Katherine Mansfield, from a diary entry written c. March 1920 (via violentwavesofemotion)
