//Heading to bed.
The man Sakura encountered didnât seen out of the ordinary at all. With a cheerful smile she approached him. âH-Hi.â
Not the best start, but it would have to do for now. She didnât let her brief stutter falter her, however - the girl peered at him, her gaze friendly. âIâm new here. I was just wondering if you could...explain about this place?â

She paused, wondering what to say in reply. The man was veryâŠwell, odd wasnât the word.
She couldnât explain it, something about him made her uneasy.
âA weird feeling?â she asked instead. âIâm Sakura. Whatâs your name?â
::Â âYeah. A weird feeling. I donât know why.â He repeated, keeping the small smile on his face. Maybe time would have an answer.
âMy name? Itâs Yuura. Nice to meet you, Sakura⊠I suppose. Not used to formal greetings and all.â
âThat is weird,â she murmured in reply. Almost immediately, however, she perked up to smile at him, seemingly discarding their odd conversation.
âItâs nice to meet you too Yuura. What do you mean by that?â
Was that guy staring at her?Â
Sakura returned the gaze curiously. She wasnât sure what to make of him, but he seemedâŠthere was something about him that reminded her of EriolâŠ
A shiver passed over her before she blinked, breaking the staring contest. The man didnât seem very open, not like others that sheâd met, but still it didnât mean she had to be rude, right?Â
ââŠHello?â

:: When the little girl spoke, Yuura snapped out of his staring contest with her. It was interesting; seeing how far the scientists wanted to develop the city. With a small smile, Yuura walked over to the girl, eyebrows raised.Â
âSorry, I just had a weird feeling coming from you. Hope I didnât scare you.â Lieâ he lived for scaring people.

First Encounter
Winging it, was it? Well, it wasnât as though he had much of an alternative scheme.
Uneasy in nodding, but he did so nevertheless; her plan was better than no plan. And in an area with quite a decent number of people, the chances of something disastrous happening decreased drastically.
Prompted once again by her suggestion urging him on, his shoulders straightened themselves, a rigid nod follow thereafter. And behind her he trekked. Eyes darted across the scenery about them; the various establishments, and the array of pedestrians which they crossed ontheir adventureâs first leg.
Though what he was most curious about for the moment, was Sakuraâs composure. For a child, no longer than him - perhaps even younger - she showed only courage in putting on a brave face, and optimistic in spite of the likelihood she was apart from those she cared about dearly.
The kind of spirit he hoped to develop one day, if crawling out of the deep pit heâd fallen into and dwelled for several years could finally be accomplished. For all the anxiety it brought out, the city was proving itself infinitely more merciful than the treatment he faced in Hitsue; not once had he found himself happened upon by a bully. Odd that even days had passed without some spiteful act carried out.
It was a nice change of pace, though he was wary of letting his guard down only to have the rug swept out from beneath his feet. But with Sakura, in the present moment, he felt assured that there was a degree of safety against that happening.             âH- How long have you been here, Sakura-san? You seem⊠really calm for someone p- pulled here from your homeâ.
They fell into a walk, the pace rather easy to maintain. It gave both of them sometime to look around without the fear of bumping into people - and, considering the crowd, there was a chance of that happening. Despite that, the air was cool, the sun was out, and the general atmosphere was pleasant. All in all, a good day to walk; no, wander.
The girl looked over at his question, a frown crossing her face before she answered. âIâve only been here a day or two...â A slight brooding expression seemed to appear as she considered those sheâd left behind. I hope Touya and Father donât miss me...
A lie, she knew: While Touya made fun of her, he did love her, and her father was...well, they were family.
They probably would be missing her.
A shake of her head is her attempt at clearing away her momentary sadness. âIt...It canât be helped. Iâm...Iâm here now, and Iâve got to be brave, right?â Her seemingly brave words were accompanied by what she hoped was a genuine smile.
Sheâd just realised that she didnât have her teddy bear with her.
I got that from-
That wasnât exactly a good train of thought to go down, was it?
First Encounter
She was certainly calm, for their predicament coupled with the fact they were but children; he could only wish to be as composed as she was. Her own smile gave him reason to return one; not sickly and forced, but a genuine smile.
âR- Right. I donât kn- know how much help I can be w- with getting around. I- Itâs been a few days a- and Iâm still taking wrong turns a- all the time. But I- Iâd like to help⊠i- if I can be o- of anyâ.
That said, he couldnât vouch for very much whatsoever; yet after how Sakura had been so generous and warm, all the more reason to want to aid her the same. They could explore together; call it an adventure to justify all the chance of getting lost - and not get into a panic over it.
He gave a rigid nod, hoping that her seemingly unlimited optimism would rub off on him, and they could simply enjoy the endeavour. Which way to go though? That was the question.        âIs there anywhere that⊠appeals to you t- to check out, Sakura-san?â
She had still been listening, but the girl had also taken to looking around her while doing so. Sheâd always enjoyed rollerblading to school with her brother and Yukito. While the memories still brought up that familiar pang from missing them while in a new place, she endeavoured to regain some of that wonder in being outdoors.
At the finishing of his sentence Sakura realised that she mustâve looked like she wasnât paying attention. Her face briefly flushed before she directed her gaze back at him. âThatâs alright!â she chirped, still smiling at him. âWe can walk around together!â
She paused to think, her unfamiliarity of the place showing through. âI donât know much of what could be around here. Maybe we can just walk and see what we find?â She suggested, gesturing at the path before her.Â
She remembered her first day walking to school: Touya had been with her, the boy heâd been piggy-backing her when she got bored of walking. Sheâd looked around in wonder then too, at the surroundings and then her new school. A bittersweet memory now, but still so nice...Touya mightâve been teasing her a lot more as she grew older, but they loved eachother, that was true.
Her face had softened at the thought and she spoke again:Â âShall we?â Her hand, she realised, she had offered to her companion. Her brother had always been there for her, whether to walk her to school or mock her during cheerleading practice. Surely she could provide that sort of faithful and ultimately loving company for others.
Was that guy staring at her?Â
Sakura returned the gaze curiously. She wasnât sure what to make of him, but he seemed...there was something about him that reminded her of Eriol...
A shiver passed over her before she blinked, breaking the staring contest. The man didnât seem very open, not like others that sheâd met, but still it didnât mean she had to be rude, right?Â

First Encounter
Her grip was neither strong nor weak - she wasnât interested in a show of strength or sending a message. It was just a greeting, a sign of friendliness.
Or at least she hoped so. He still seemed a bit confused about things. Maybe he was shy? Still, she was glad that he responded, glad that he was brave enough to answer her.
âItâs nice to meet you too, Aichi-kun! AndâŠâ
Her voice trailed off; his response to her words about company werenât exactly what she meant. She couldnât even begin to understand how he might be feeling about being suddenly dumped in a different world where nothing worked quite the same way, but she could hazard a guess. Nevertheless, Sakura had gotten the idea that this might be permanent - or if not permanent, it would take a serious amount of magic to get out.
It was something she supposed she didnât have, seeing as how most of her cards bar one was missing, and her wand seemed to be constructed from plastic.
Inspiration struck. After all, sometimes people were just shy, so Sakura tried a different tack: cheerful honesty. âWell, I didnât meanâŠI thought you could use some friendly company as well. Even if we donât know where weâre going, at least neither of us are alone, right?â Her words were accompanied by a bright smile.
Such a pleasant girl, he felt fortunate to have been summoned to her. She gave off such a warm ambiance, something so rare, and somewhere to feel safe. It aided him to relax somewhat; still jittery, but not about to go running off unexpectedly, instead making sure to stay close by.
How charming that sheâd be working so hard to help out those afflicted with troubles such as his own. âThatâs⊠really kind of you, Sakura-san. I- I really appreciate it. I hope this isnâtâŠ. a bother, I wouldnât want to keep you from somethingâ.
Which was unlikely the case with the suggestion she herself might not be entirely sure of the way around. Having two heads, two sets of eyes might get them somewhere familiar easier, and with less time spent. Her reassuring smile had the intended effect; she certainly helped to calm him with all the frantic activity around. The speeding, slowing and even reversing of their surroundings was rather unnerving, but with no reasonable explanation behind it (if such a thing was possible).
âY- Yeah, youâre right. Where should we head towards? Is there somewhere you need to be? Iâd like to help out, as a way of saying thank you f- for everything so farâ.
Sakura sensed that he appeared to have calmed somewhat, and so her cheer increased. âNo, Aichi-kun, itâs not a bother at all! Iâm happy to have found some company,â she assured him, her smile brightening.Â
She paused in her speaking to look around her. At first glance she didnât notice much that was memorable, but then she hadnât been here all that long in any case. âIâm not needing to be anywhere, but maybe you could help show me around? If youâre also not new, that is. I just got here.â She cupped one hand in the other behind her back and shot him a look and a tiny embarrassed laugh.
Her gaze flicked away again, this time staring over their surroundings in silence, enjoying his company. â...Youâre welcome, Aichi-kun. Like I said, itâs no problem at all!â
Her words were sincere, her gaze bright, and Sakura hoped she had made a new friend in her short time here.
First Encounter
The person seemedâŠconfused, at the very least, that sheâd addressed them. She couldnât tell who it was from the distance, but to her relief they finally approached.Â
They finally got close enough for her to recognise that it was a guyâŠhe seemed alright to her, though his behaviour was odd, to say the least. Nevertheless she smiled at him in a friendly manner, walking over so she could meet him halfway.Â
âWellâŠI wasnât really looking for anyone in particular, but I saw you and thought that maybe it would be better to have two people together than them both being alone?â she said, displaying her standard cheer.
ââŠOh! Iâm Sakura Kinomoto,â she added. She tucked her wand behind her back as she extended her free hand, offering it to him.
Even with it confirmed that heâd been the one sheâd called out to, the palm against the back of his neck rubbed both fabric and skin; that meant the challenge of pulling his weight so the conversation, and more so, her calling out to him, wasnât wasted.
A child about his age, or possibly even younger ,and she was handling their predicament infinitely much better than he; it was admirable. In fact, quite a number of those about had been relatively calm despite their location and disconnect from home. Made him wonder just what lives they had behind them, or if he was overreacting, for having nothing outside his family to honestly exist for.
Her hand offered almost had him perplexed into stillness for a number of seconds, surprised that she would want to do so with a boy who just showed up on the street. Her smile was reassuring enough though, and sheâd even given her name - the least she deserved was the same back.
Opposite to herâs, his lips weaved a weak smile, extending his own to take the palm extended. âMy nameâs Aichi Sendou. Itâs a pleasure to meet you, Sakura-san. I donât⊠really know anywhere around here, but youâre right that⊠working together is better than trying to navigate alone. Iâll try my best t- to be of helpâ.

Thud.
Sakura jumped back. So lost had she been in thought that she hadnât been paying attention to her surroundings, and so sheâd ended up walking into someone else.
âJust like you, monster.â Or at least, thatâs what her brother wouldâve said had he been here. Sakura shook her head, thoughts leaping back to the present as she stared at the person sheâd bumped into. A blush crossed her face as she looked at them. âI-Iâm sorry!â
@flannelfav
Hands in her pockets, the ginger turned her head, looking about. She was learning, much faster than sheâd though, in fact. A satisfied smile painted her face before she collided with a stranger, hair puffing up gently as her eyes widened slightly in surprise.
Patting the person down, she gave a small laugh once she was certain she wasnât hurt. Hey, some people were fragile.Â
âNah, donât worry about it. You good?â
While the laugh went a good way to erasing the embarrassment, there was still a faint flush on Sakuraâs face as she met the other girlâs eyes. She seemed nice enough, and Sakura relaxed when she began to realise that neither of them were injured in any way.
âIâm okay,â she managed, a small smile peeking out.
Everything is okay...my invincible spell...the girlâs smile widened with more friendliness.
Blocked Flight Path
Sheâd been testing out The Fly, is what sheâd told herself. Sheâd been holding off for far too long anyway, afraid that the card, like her wand, had been changed beyond her control. To her relief, it still seemed to function. Now she was airbourne - or, at the very least, she was exploring the streets at about shoulder-height not wanting to test it too much lest it suddenly fail.
Sheâd never doubted the strength of her own magic and that of her cards before, but this was a different place, and her wand wasnât the same...it worried her-
!!!
A shape suddenly formed in her vision and the girl yelped as, startled back to the present, she braked to a stop in front of a man. It was her fault, really, since sheâd be so lost in her thoughts that sheâd forgotten her surroundings.
âA-ah! S-Sorry!â
