Scared

You ask me to be open, I tell you I can’t. I tell you I’m scared. I’m scared that I won’t live to see past the age of 30. I’m scared that I’ll never have a child. I’m scared that if I get closer to you everything will only just fade over time. I’m scared of ending up in a hospital bed, in a cold room, all alone only left there with my thoughts, my unfulfilled dreams and my will to keep fighting. And sometimes, I just want to give up the fight. But when I’m gone will you remember me? Will all my accomplishments be erased like my history? Will my name become non-existent? One moment I’m happy and then suddenly this emended sadness forecast above my head. Will my own internal sadness be the result of my own demise? What will become of me when my words are left unspoken? And I can no longer put my thoughts down on paper. I’m sorry but there isn’t anything you could possibly do to save me from myself. Or to stop these tears from falling every night. So I’ll sit here unapologetically full of anger and fear.

I’m sorry I’m not who you thought I was. You say I’m a flawless woman And I won’t apologize for who I really am. A strong minded, spiritual, not always put together female trying to get it right. But you chose to settle for less A pretty little thottie for around the way. Unaware of the miseducated and misguided soul she’s become Only to hear her say,”Ha! I’ve won!” Won what? This man eventually was not my prize. Instead of remain in his secure display case With the sign saying,”Please Do Not Touch The Art” He become a worthless display covered in unworthy fingerprints. What was once a breathtaking painting Lost it’s value once it became exposed. Even without the painting I still remain the painter. Full of desire, passion, knowledge, unbothered Blind to the molding process unfolding Like a helpless little seed to a sunflower glowing The passion it was fed so it bloomed Countless brush strokes upon the canvas He forgot the time it took to love him Paying attention to every minor detail Instead of admiring that one true, pure person’s soul His infatuation became a physical desire Rather than finding the beauty in his admirer.

It's been two years since you were called to heaven and I still can't deal with it. Vic you were such a ball of energy. You would never let me stay mad at you long enough. And it upsets me that at some point things fell off but all that mattered is that you were happy and loving your life as you should. I never though of your departure as a goodbye but more as a see you later. I just felt that it was too soon. But I know you must have everyone up in heaven laughing.
