“I’ll leave the hope to you. I was always more of the ‘work yourself to death’ type.”
“Don’t deprive the world of your good looks.” She teased them, shaking her head slightly. “You’re gonna kick this semester’s ass.”
krxsradford:
“Pain in the ass, right?”
“That’s for sure. We’ll survive though. I have hope.”
krxsradford:
“Who cares if I’m pretty if I fail my finals?”
“Fuck...same, Kris. Same.”
poseysteel:
“It works. I’m bad at cooking and leftovers last me a while,” Posey shrugged, a brief smile crossing her face before she dug into her second piece. “In my defense, I do make fries instead sometimes. Y’know, to offset the massive amount of pizza I eat,” she huffed out a laugh.
She laughed lightly and rolled her eyes in amusement at her friend, taking another bite of her pizza before narrowing her eyebrows. “S’that mean you don’t want me to make dinner for you sometime?”
poseysteel:
Though she groaned when Chelsey insisted that the thank you was required, Posey didn’t argue any further against it, busying herself finishing off the crust of her first slice. “I probably eat too much pizza. My freezer is pretty much just… all frozen pizzas,” she admitted with a soft huff of laughter.
Chelsey couldn’t help but grimace at Posey’s mention of her freezer being filled with not much else bit pizza. “Shit, Pose.” She said with a bit of a laugh, nudging her foot against Posey’s. “Guess someone’s gonna have to make sure you eat something other than pizza every once in a while.”
poseysteel:
Scoffing with a bit of a half smile on her face, Posey dug into her food at the same time that she swatted at Chelsey for thanking her, legs shifting until she could rest her knee against Chelsey. The bit of contact was plenty for her while they ate. “You don’t need to thank me. Seriously,” she got out once she had finished what was in her mouth. “Help yourself, I got a large for a reason.”
She laughed as she was swatted, nudging her knee lightly against Posey’s when it rested against her own. “You’re filling my belly which is much needed. So thanks are required.” She retorted before reaching into the box to grab another slice of pizza when she’d finished her first. “I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve had pizza.”
poseysteel:
Offering up an awkward thank you to the pizza boy once everything was said and done, Posey bumped the door closed with her hip and returned to Chelsey, sliding the pizza box onto the coffee table in front of the couch. “I don’t know if you’re one of those weirdos who needs a plate to eat pizza, but you’re on your own if you want one,” she said with a playful little huff of laughter, eagerly opening the box and plucking a piece of pizza for herself.
“Oh yeah, I need it all. Plate, knife, and fork.” Chelsey joked before reaching in to grab herself a slice of pizza as well, curling her legs up underneath her in a crisscross. “Thanks for the food, Pose.” She said softly after she’d finished chewing and swallowing her first couple of bites. “I’m starving.” Chelsey continued, having skipped out on lunch that day in favor of finishing up an assignment.
poseysteel:
“I didn’t think you were serious,” she admitted with a huff of laughter, getting up from her chair so she could actually take a seat next to Chelsey. “Beside,” Posey pressed, an edge of playfulness in her tone, “I’m the one that implied that first. Us. I-” A knock at the door saved her and Posey internally thanked whoever was delivering their pizza for saving her from fumbling over her words. “Gimme a minute.” With that said, she got up to pay for and retrieve their food.
She raised an eyebrow once more as Posey stood up from her chair and moved to sit next to her, her hands balling into loose fists as they rested on her lap. She laughed lightly when Posey mentioned that she was the one to imply it first, knowing that she couldn’t deny that point. She turned towards the door with a bit of a glare, having wanted Posey to finish her train of thought, but settling for the fact that she would have to wait. “Pizzaaa.” She stated, rubbing her hands together when the blonde returned with the food.
poseysteel:
Shooting an amused look at Chelsey, Posey eased her glasses off to wipe her face, as if facing a video game boss had really taken a lot out of her. “I’ve had crushes on tons of video game characters though. Samus, Zelda, Alice, Chell, Lara- God, Lara.” With a sigh, she slipped her glasses back on and offered up a sheepish grin. “You’re better though.”
Chelsey let out a soft laugh at Posey’s words, shaking her head in fond amusement. Posey was definitely something else...so unlike anyone else that she’d ever found herself crushing on. And that, in itself, was intimidating as fuck. “I’m going to take that compliment and run with it. Even if you don’t want me in your bed.” She stated, referencing their texts from a few days prior.
poseysteel:
“He’s a piece of shit,” Posey declared, even if a minute later she ended up finally beating the boss. With a triumphant smirk on her face, she swiveled around in her chair to face Chelsey. “My favourite was always Melody, the daughter. I’m pretty sure I had a crush on her.”
“Nice work.” She murmured when she noted that Posey had beaten the boss. “Crush on a video game character...married to a video game character. Damn. I’ve got a lot to live up to.” Chelsey joked, quirking her eyebrow and smirking at the girl.
poseysteel:
“It was one of the first games I ever owned and played,” Posey admitted without taking her eyes off of the screen, focusing on that instead of the circumstances surrounding why she had gotten the game in the first place and how she had used it to cope. “And no matter how many fucking times I beat it, Boolossus is always a pain in my ass.”
“That’s pretty cool. That makes sense.” Chelsey didn’t know a ton about what Posey’s childhood was like. Just that she’d been adopted and had more than a few adopted siblings as well. She’d never really interacted with them or seen any of them really, other than brief moments when one of them would show up at her and Posey’s place of work. “Boolossus...that’s quite the name.”
poseysteel:
“You’re Mario’s brother and you bought a mansion, but it’s haunted. You have to suck up all the ghosts and put them in their paintings,” Posey explained as briefly as she could make herself—the fact that she was a bit too preoccupied for her typical long-winded explanation helped. She cursed when the ghosts assembled into a bigger one again. “Luigi’s Mansion. It’s an older game, but it’s one of my favourites.”
Chelsey nodded her head as she watched Posey play the game. She’d never been one to really enjoy video games, but she was absolutely willing to learn about them or at least learn why Posey liked them so much. Especially if it meant more time with Posey. “Pretty impressive that he was able to buy the mansion and stuff.” She muttered, her head tilting to the side. “What makes it one of your favourites?”
poseysteel:
“Sorry. I know I said five minutes but… this boss is really frustrating. Five more and you can have my undivided attention. Pizza should be here soon anyway.” // @chelseytahan
Chelsey smirked slightly at Posey’s words and leaned back against the couch a bit more lazily. “Glad to know that if I can’t get your attention on my own...pizza will do the trick.” She teased, her eyes scanning over the screen. “So...what’s the story of this game again?”
