ive lowkey never rlly felt the 'i need to be in that audience' feeling quite like tonight. christian broadway debut, final cherrygrace show... the love and energy and support ive seen from that entire company tonight has been electric, and thats just what im seeing through instagram. i cant imagine what it was like to be a part of that show tonight, both backstage and in the audience

Ponyboy was so young when his parents died. He was only thirteen. That’s a child. And I’m thinking of those overwhelming, unavoidable moments when he really, really misses his mom. When a reminder of her, or some seemingly unrelated trigger, punctures his numbing, static forced field of survival mode, and suddenly beneath the grease and fists and blood and blades and busted pop bottles he’s just a kid who would do anything for one more hug from his mama. Who lies awake at night teary with regret over the last time he protested that he was too old for her to tuck him into bed. Who desperately tries to recall her scent, her voice, the sensation of her lips brushing his forehead.

And of course his big brothers, the only ones ever privy to these moments, try to comfort him. Of course in the shelter of their home, away from the scrutiny of his rep as a tuff greaser who’s a good fighter and can hold his own among bigger and older hoods, they hug him and let him cry and let him just be their baby brother. And it does help, but it’s not the same. Because Ponyboy lost his mother when he was still young enough for her to come running when he cried, and she isn’t coming.

A bunch of the original broadway cast members/current cast members are leaving The Outsiders musical on that day. It’s the end of an era as these actors have been with the show for quite some time and we as a fandom have gotten attached lol.

The actors leaving are as follows:

Trevor Wayne, Brent Comer, Jason Schmidt, Alex Joseph Grayson, Kevin William Paul, Renni Magee, Tilly Evans-Krueger, Sarahgrace Mariani, Melody Rose, and Sky Lakota Lynch.
