Aang and His Strength Headcanons
One thing I saw a lot of here when the movie was first leaked, was that people were IN LOVE with the idea that Aang wouldn't be aware of his newfound strength as an adult in his twenties while having sex. Leading to talks of "my guy you gotta watch out for that man."
And I loved it too at first. I thought it was cute that he had such a growth spurt he would be surprised at his own strength. It leaned into his sweet nature, which was a relief from all the fics I'd seen of him being alpha male like in bed...but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that just...doesn't make sense?
Aang in the movie is around in his mid to late 20s. And given his build, he isn't a BULKY HULK like being as people tend to say he is, instead he's lean and compact. Katara is able to wrap her arms around his torso with ease. That doesn't scream BODYBUILD mass of muscle to me.
People also have to remember this man is training constantly-hence why he is in such great shape. And because of that, he'd be well aware of his strength-it shows constantly in his fighting skills.
So, anyways here are MY headcanons when it comes to Aang's physicality as a partner. Both NSFW and SFW exist here so minors…shoo. Get.
With Aang at 6’3’’ and with his build, he’d be able to pick you up with ease. Hoisting you up on Appa, holding you bridal style, hugging you to him while you wrap your legs around his waist, he’d act like you’re nothing more than feather light to him.
Because he’s so keenly aware of his size, he wouldn't often grab you by the shoulders or wrist to pull you along somewhere-unless he’s overwhelmed with excitement during festivals. In which case you get swept up in the infectious joy as well. Most times though, he’ll have a hand between your shoulder blades and gently guide you somewhere if needed, or he’d place a hand on your bicep/shoulder as a way to get your attention if needed.
It’s very rare, but if you get in a heated enough argument with a politician, or council member, he wouldn’t have trouble hauling you to his chest to keep you from lunging at some know-nothing who was being obtuse as well as feckless. You don’t entertain stupidity, but Aang won’t entertain you getting hurt, or creating an international incident. So this pertains to missions as well-if you rush into trouble, or act stubborn with an injury, he'll remind you of his strength to keep you safe.
If you wake up with Aang curled around you, with an arm over your waist, or just under your chest, legs tangled together, good luck getting out of bed. He becomes a deadweight in his sleep. You’re strong, but you’re not a match for someone who’s 6’3’’ and 180 pounds of sheer lean muscle.
I feel like Aang as a young adult, exploring intimacy for the first few times before understanding himself and his partner would be exceedingly aware of his size and strength. Especially if his partner were smaller than him by a head or two. Not to imply you can't take care of yourself, he knows you too well to ever do that, but because it's just in his nature to care.
With his strength and size though, sometimes bruises from his grip on your thighs or waist pop up. After the first time it happens, he'd always check himself and his weight, even in the throes of pleasure. Again, his core is to care. Not be reckless. I actually think it's so hot that he would just constantly be like "shit, sorry" lightening his grip on your thighs only for you to put your hand on his. It's okay. You trust him.
He'd be incredibly conscious of keeping his weight off you as well when he's topping. Oh he'd utterly encompass you-practically looming over you, (if someone were to accidentally interrupt, all they'd likely see is Aang's bare back. Unless you happen to be topping, in which case he'd deftly flip you both over and cover you both up cause of course he would, he'd hate the idea of you being vulnerable like that to others) but he'd be bracing his weight on his forearms even as he leans close to press his forehead to yours. You'd have to grab him by his shoulder blades and bring him closer to signal that you like his weight on you. Like a warm weighted blanket.
Yes he is aware of how large his hands are. And yes times two he will use them to his advantage and your pleasure. And yes squared his hands being rough and calloused would be incredible-I'm surprised that's not seen in a lot of Aang smut-even mine the few I've written. I'll need to remedy that the more I practice. He's spent years gripping Appa's reins and his staff-those fingers would be fine sandpaper along the soft inner walls of your cunt, and the decrease in finger sensitivity would mean you need to tell Aang what feels good-he'd have to rely on auditory and visual cues vs knowing what would automatically feel good. Communication is sexy.
Because of his size, positions like the mating press or full nelson would be extremely rare. And only after having your explicit consent first. He doesn’t really like the idea of being able to completely overpower his partner. His go to’s would be the lotus and missionary, cowgirl, spooning, and even the occasional doggy style. The biggest thing with Aang's size is that you'd feel safe. His size allows him to be a human shield when you're overwhelmed in crowds, and when it's just the two of you, his size allows you to feel enveloped by him completely. When he wraps his arms around you, with his hands splayed out across your shoulder blades or back, you know nothing can touch you. Even when he reaches the height of his pleasure, and enters the Avatar State, he isn't suddenly going to be dominating or rough. But his size will make it so that the only thing you can focus on in such close proximity would be those normally gray eyes filled with cosmic white light.
Aang as an adult would be more than aware of his size, and his strength. I no longer think it's accurate to assume he'd be oblivious of his body as a young man in his 20s. Him being aware means that you get to have a great time because he’ll be present enough to be careful, but curious/confident enough to experiment around a bit with that strength of his. I mean if you suggested having sex in the rafters of an Air Temple he wouldn’t be opposed due to knowing just what his body is capable of. He’d be able to balance himself and you surprisingly well.
But part of him might balk at the idea of possibly offending Air Nomad spirits that might linger around.
