He trailed off.
"Maybe you just have exceptional luck."
"Nothing bad about experimenting a little now and then."
Kakyoin shrugged when the other mentioned his luck. Perhaps it was just that. Sure, he was pushing it now and then, but it was just him wanting to make art. He wasn't hurting anyone, so he saw no problem with what he was doing. "Maybe..."
To think none of the dangers of being out alone at night were going to scare him away, he was pretty brave— though others might have thought him foolish. But he was really dedicated to his craft, kind of like Uta. What wasn’t there to admire about that?
"You must be pretty good at avoiding the dangerous things out and about then. Do you go out and do this frequently?"
Maybe he could ask to watch if he came across him again. Or, did artists not like being watched while they worked?
"I've gone out and about on numerous occasions like this before." Kakyoin smiled, already thinking about what he was going to paint upon the walls of the buildings. "I suppose I'm pretty good at avoiding things like that. No one really comes to bother me. I've had people watch me from afar, but then they leave after a while."
[It’s official!! I have been accepted into the Art Institute, and shall begin my Game Art and Design major starting Tuesday. According to my schedule, I only have four class three days a week. So my activity on here will all boil down to my work load. Aaaaaahhhhh I’m so excited!]
"Or you could be. Who knows. I might be a figment of your imagination." She mutters passing the boy. She stops to look at the piece once more. The angel was beautiful.. but she couldn’t help but think.
"Aren’t biblical angels described as monsters of pure fire?" She mutters staring blankly a the image. Shizuka didn’t really know much about art, that was Aimi’s thing. But she knew somethings.. "Maybe you could play with that in a reflection image?"
"Really?"
Kakyoin looked up at his piece. Yes, he definitely had to do something with that now. Should he add to this one, or begin a new piece. So many possible outcomes for this. He must do this before his inspiration runs out though. "I could play around with that..."
"Ah, thank you. I enjoy it quite a bit, although I don’t know if I could do such a large-scale work like this."
"It’s interesting that you are willing to risk getting caught or worse. I respect that."
"I'm sure you could if you truly have the passion for it.. I used to paint on canvas, but...the buildings seem much better than some little thing made of wood and cloth."
Kakyoin looked up at the wall in front of him. The smile disappeared when the other mentioned the risk. "I suppose so. No has caught me yet, and the danger of Ghouls hurting me seems to be pretty low too, surprisingly."
"I was as well, sorry about that.."
The clatter at the other’s feet caught his attention, a spray can? Oh now that he looked, this guy had quite a lot of them stuffed away in his coat. An artist? He’d really admired all those with creative interests— all he had ever been good at was reading.
"Ah— are you heading somewhere to paint with all that? It’s going to get dark out soon…"
"I am, actually. I seem to work better at night for some reason."
Kakyoin smiled a little, already thinking about the different things he'll paint. Of course, how long they'll last depends on the authorities when his work is discovered. "I'll be fine. I always am, surprisingly."
"I’m Uta~ I make masks."
It might be telling the other a bit much, if they even realized what he was. But if he felt it might be an issue, he realized didn’t have to let Kakyoin get away alive.
"I-I'm Noriaki. Masks? That's cool."
He wondered what sort of masks the other made. It certainly was something that interested him, and could help inspire him. Then again, he was looking at someone who could very well be a ghoul. But, he wasn't being hostile towards the other in anyway. Perhaps this might work out. Hopefully. The red head would like to get through this alive and in one piece.
"Is that so? You are talented. I’m an artist myself… but my work is a bit different."
Uta’s expression was neutral, as usual. No real hint of emotion one way or the other as the other looked to him. He wondered what was going through Kakyoin’s head at that moment.
That stoic expression unsettled him. It was creepy, but perhaps it can be something that will inspire his next peace. Kakyoin just gets the feeling he shouldn't linger around this guy for too long, no matter how friendly he is.
"You are? What sort of work do you do?"
Walking through the darker streets she cuts her way through a presumably abandoned building she notices a smell in the air.. solvent? and drying paint.. had someone been painting? She walks around to find the source of the smell.
Suddenly she stops hearing someone call out from the other room. She walks around giving off a slight wave “Hi? sorry, I was just walking through.” She looks to the wall of the room on which he was painting…an angel?
"Oh, it's okay. Just thought I might have been going crazy for a sec."
Kakyoin gave a bit of a nervous laugh. He looked back towards his work, please, but sort of unsatisfied with it. Maybe he should add more. No, it's becoming much to late, and he has school in the morning. Him staying out as late as he does it already bad enough.
[Imma go play some video games. I need to pull myself away from rps before I explode. Haha, just a bit swamped right now]
Tonight might be a quiet enough time to go out for something to drink— it’d been a while since he’d gone and had some nice coffee. And there weren’t too many people out tonight either.
He let his mind wander as he walked, gaze dropping to the sidewalk below as he follows a memorized route. Yet his walk is interrupted as something collides with him suddenly— his body quick to tense up as an immediate reaction.
"—!"
Seeing it was just a normal person he immediately relaxes, face showing slight concern.
"No it’s alright, I wasn’t paying attention either. Are you alright?"
"Yeah I'm okay. Was just distracted." Kakyoin jumped when there was a loud clang by his feet. He looked down, noticing one of his spray cans had fallen from his coat. "Was just on my wait to do work on something...."
He picked it back up, returning it where all his other spray cans were hidden The red head had to keep all of his tools handy after all. It would be quite the travesty if he were to become inspired, and his tools to be at home. He might lose the motivation to do some graffiti on his way to get his stuff.
"How brave—it’s a little dangerous here at night, you know~"
He chuckled to himself while watching the other. And still he was putting himself at risk for his art, wasn’t he? Was he so naive and trusting that he would make himself so vulnerable to a ghoul? Or perhaps he was unaware—there were plenty of humans who wouldn’t recognize a ghoul so quickly.
"I'm aware. Most people leave me alone when I do stuff like this though. So I figured it probably isn't all that bad being outside. I mean, anyone who somewhat approaches me when I'm out during this time seems to enjoy seeing what I make."
Kakyoin took another step back to check his progress. Almost done. He looked over at the other, smiling from behind that medical mask. He was still aware of how stupid he was probably being right now, though. For all he knew, this fellow right here might just be letting him do one last piece before deciding to kill him.

That's another building that has been blessed with his vandalism for the day. Well, to him it's a work of art. Just a little graffiti work of an angel. Seems he went for something more calm and simple tonight. He hasn't had the inspiration for something more violent.
Kakyoin began packing up his things, pausing and looking around. He was sure he heard something. "Hello?" Perhaps he should just leave. Being here alone is always a risk, but it was a risk he was always willing to take. One of these days, it's going to be the end of him.

He glanced up in time to see the sun setting. Perhaps he won't be working on a piece at night this time. No, he'll definitely get one of those ideas that will keep him awake. Those ideas where just sketching it out isn't enough. Not even painting it on a canvas will satisfy the need to put it somewhere for the world to see.
Kakyoin sighed, pulling out his phone to check the time. Just as he did so, he accidentally bumped into someone. "Hey sorry, I didn't mean to." He looked up to see who he walked into.
Indeed, a certain ghoul was checking out just what the noise was. First, the other came into view. Uta wasn’t particularly hungry, so he figured he wouldn’t bother pursuing the boy as a meal, for now at least. He looked at the graffiti as soon as he could get a good look. It was interesting, to say the least.
"Looks nice," he spoke in that soft, calming voice.
No harm intended, for now. Humans could be interesting, after all.
Kakyoin jumped a little in surprise, glancing over at the other. The moment he saw his eyes, he knew what the other was. But he seemed to be kind, especially with how soft his voice sound. Perhaps he'll live through another night. Hopefully.
"Thanks. I intended to wait till morning, but the idea was keeping me awake." He continued with working on his piece.

The sound of a spray can could be heard quite a bit away from it's exact location. The red head was working on yet another piece, his white medical mask preventing him from inhaling the harsh chemicals. He paused and took a step back, admiring his progress. "Definitely a piece to be proud of." The boy was always proud of any work he finished. It was probably a mystery as to how he managed to do anything in the dark, though.
Kakyoin was about to continue his work, till he heard footsteps. He tensed up, but tried to relax. Perhaps it was just a ghoul seeing what the noise was. They normally left him alone, but he still had to be cautious. Taking a deep breath, he went back to working on his little art project on the building wall, hoping whoever was approaching wouldn't attack him.

The red head tensed up when he heard footsteps, immediately stashing his spray cans back into his coat. He turned to see who was approaching, relaxing when he saw it just seemed to be some ordinary guy. A cowboy? Kakyoin frowned, a little bemused by the other's appearance. "What's with the get up? Most people don't dress like that so casually..."
