a guide to using crepe for selfshippers looking to get cheap commissions of their selfship!
(please keep in mind you do have to have access to a paypal or a form of banking/credit card recognized in south korea to use this!)
1. visit the crepe website (crepe.cm) using a browser that supports direct page translation (if you don't understand korean), i personally use google!
2. find a commission you like! when considering prices, the amount of points (represented as p) is equal to the amount of south korean won. convert the amount of won to the currency you use to get an accurate amount of how much you will spend on a commission before tax.
3. before you begin the application process, it is important to understand what kind of commission you're applying for!
if the commission you are applying for includes these words in the description, title, or tags, it means:
gacha: the amount of quality and effort they put in is based off of how much you pay
omakase: the artist is capable of choosing how they would like to draw your characters outfits, pose, expression, or setting
ld: pretty much a full kind if drawing (meaning not chibi?? idk how to describe it)
md: in between being a chibi and a full
sd: chibis!!
fixed-frame: think of it as like a customized picrew! they have a certain base(s) they use for the drawing, but it's personalized to your characters!
if you have any other questions on what certain tags mean, feel free to ask me in the comments xx
4. now that you've picked a commission you'd like, scroll down and click apply!
many commissions will have an application like this! if they do, fill out each box accordingly!! the descriptions and labels will tell you what you need to fill out!
BE SURE TO DOUBLE-TRANSLATE YOUR APPLICATION INFORMATION THROUGH A TRANSLATOR INTO KOREAN AND COPY ONLY THE KOREAN ONCE YOU'VE CONFIRMED IT SAYS WHAT YOU INTEND TO TELL THE COMMISSIONER
i personally use deepl for this!!! it's been my favorite translator to use overall.
5. USE REFERENCE SHEETS!!!! give them a couple references but not too many, and be sure to include if you'd like any outfit changes to your characters in the reference sheet. you can put this where it might say "character appearance" or "character data"
example:
5.5. IF THE APPLICATION FORM DOES NOT HAVE OPTIONS AND ONLY HAS THE "OTHER INQUIRIES" QUESTION, SEND YOUR REFERENCES AND TELL THEM EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT!
example:
6. once you've filled out the application, you can submit!! yaaayyyy
7. after you submit your application, the artist will request payment through points if your application is accepted! you can buy points directly at checkout once you approve the price, OR you can buy them by clicking on your profile>points>charging! this step is where you will need to use paypal or banking, but after this you are pretty much done, not including any revisions or questions the commissioner may ask you after!
