“O-Oh um…I-I don’t really know if I should join.” She mumbled, rubbing the back of her head slightly, “But…if you wish to dance with me then I suppose that I can.”

“Eh? You don’t think you should join in? Why not? You’re a really great dancer, everyone will love it! I mean... you don’t have to if you don’t want to, but it’d be really great if you did.”

Her smile was still soft, it was good to see that such a little human was so enraged over such things. As well shocked.

“You really seem ok.” she said then with a big smile, nearly a grin more. “But.. Something else.” she blinked at him, the head tilting to the side.

“Where am i even? This sea seems so different to what i am used to.” had she taken a wrong way somewhere? Had the Grandline played her a little trick? Well seems you weren’t even safe under water then!

“Huh? Something else? What do you mean?” Aladdin asked curiously, still slightly enraged over the information he had just received. 

“Oh, this is Sindria, you’re safe here, no need to worry about being captured and sold here.” he spoke softly with a smile. “Maybe the current brought you here? Are you lost?”

“Oh! Most definitely! They probably will be quite shocked that you learned from me, seeing how they’ve never seen me dance.” She laughed lightly, having stopped moving and watched him.

“That’s right, they will be! Are you going to dance at the festival too Kougyoku? We should dance together!” The small magi spoke excitedly. “Then we can eat lots of food and tell everyone about you teaching me.”

“Good good! All it takes is practice. And I know you’ll do good at it, Aladdin.” She grinned, reaching down and rubbed his hair slightly, “After all, you’re a magi.”

He continued to practice and before he knew it he was tripping less. “Look, I’m doing it!” Aladdin laughed, a gigantic smile spread across his face. He couldn’t wait for the festival, he was going to show everyone what he’d learned. 

“Do you think Alibaba and Morgiana will be surprised?!”

“Not quite, here.” She leaned down slightly, her hands placing over his hips a bit and showed him the correct way to do so and she stood back up, grinning as she did another move, “But you’re doing quite well!”

“Oh! I get it!” Aladdin gasped, repeating the move the way she had taught him. He watched as she continued with another move, which seemed easy enough. He tried to follow along again, quickly tripping over his own feet. 

“I’m going to practice lots.” he said, pausing a moment to get up. “Then I’ll do even better!”

“Dangerous, huh? No worries, though! If humans can get through ‘em, I should be able to too, uh-huh. At least, with some proper preparin’.” She’s still expecting a Mystery Dungeon-esque place with a boss at the end. Probably some obstacles and traps, too.  “D’you know what I should expect, goin’ in? Are there books n’ stuff on these dungeons?”

“Yes, prepare well, make sure to bring something to protect yourself with. Are you strong?” Aladdin asked curiously. “You should expect monsters, they may not be very friendly, since most aren’t after all.. just be wary of them. They might even look cute at first. You may run into plenty of doorways, and they may lead to your death, a dead end or they may lead you to the treasure room. There will definitely be traps and obstacles.” 

“As for books... I don’t think I’ve run into one yet about dungeons, since most people don’t get out of them alive. Sinbad’s books tell tales about his adventures and the dungeons he’s captured. I don’t know if many others have written about it other then that they’re mysterious buildings or death traps.”

“It’s when the old year draws to a close and a new begins. And surly you don’t think Sin would let any excuse to have a festival pass him by, do you?”

“Oh wow, is that really what it is? That’s neat!” Aladdin responded happily. He gave the next statement a tiny bit of thought. “You’re right, he’d definitely be having a festival. This is exciting! There will be so much food and ladies! Are you excited too Ja’far?”

Kougyoku couldn’t help but blush a little and she felt happiness bubble up inside her. It was nice to know that someone else would’ve done the same for her, “That would’ve been nice.”

“Of course!” She said gleefully, “Just follow my lead! It’s quite simple.”

“Sure!” Aladdin yelped excitedly, trying his best to stay focused on what she was doing so he could follow along. He tried pretty hard, but wasn’t quite getting it yet. 

“Like this right?”

A nod followed to his surprised expression, or was it more shocked? One thing for sure this tiny guy was a funny guy.

“Yes and we don’t loose our ability to be the fastest under water. We can just choose if we walk or swim.” 

for a moment she was thinking, then she nodded to his words as she felt that she really had shocked him. “Yes, getting a mermaid isn’t easy… So they set a high price on us. But in the end we would just have the same life as a fish in a fishtank.. Just something to look at and with an exploding collar around our neck.” she huffed, then shook her head before she smiled at him again. 

“Sorry for babbling so much.”

“Why would someone want to buy a mermaid in the first place? That’s terrible! Something like that shouldn’t even be happening at all.” Aladdin gasped, enraged and shocked by what he had just learned. “It saddens me to think that people would do something like that... and to just keep you in a tank the rest of your life, it’s not fair at all.”

It was horrible enough that people even sold slaves, now he learned that mermaids too were being sold as well.. He could only imagine how many other species in this world were being sold as slaves or as some sort of living trophy, and it definitely made his heart sink.

“N-no, please you don’t need to apologize! Thank you for telling me about this.”

“Thank you Aladdin, it means a lot.” She smiled warmly, “He was my only friend as well. I grew up alone in the palace and pretty much isolated from everyone. Judal-chan was the only one who would sneak in and play with me.”

“If you want, I can show you some moves before the festival and more afterwards?”

“I would’ve done the same as Judal if I would’ve been there. No one deserves to be by themselves for so long. I don’t know what I would’ve done if I didn’t have Ugo with me back then.” 

“Yeah that sounds great! Then maybe I could try out some moves at the festival, right? It’d be fun to join in on all the dancing.” Aladdin couldn’t wait, in fact, he began to jump up and down excitedly.
