Feeling oddly sentimental tonight, as I realized I adopted Tillie (pictured) three months ago today!

This Chicago Dude is Luis, and I wouldn't have her if it wasn't for him, true story. After finding out the dog we came to Chicago Animal Care and Control's shelter to see already had an adoption pending, we passed by her cage once or twice. Lou pointed her out right away: "What about this one?" I scoffed. "Part beagle? Nooooo." We walked a few other dogs, none really clicking too much, and passed her ("Kiki," according to her card) again on our way out. "Just do it," I think Lou said, or something to that effect. Out in the yard, 15 minutes later, it was over. I -- and Lou and Sarah, a CACC volunteer -- knew this was my girl.

Now, Tillie wiggles so hard every time she sees Lou that you would think "her butt was going to fall off," as he says.

So, then, Tillie and I needed a ride home from the shelter a few days later. This Chicago Dude, Sean, immediately volunteered and made Tillie feel so safe and comfortable in the car and in her new home.

Tillie is my absolute best bud, and I wouldn't have her without these Chicago dudes.
