My mom is South Korean, and I’ve been living here with her for the past three years.
As some of you know, things are intense in South Korea right now. President Yoon declared martial law, but it was successfully overturned by the opposition party and citizens. This Saturday, the National Assembly will vote on his impeachment. To pass, over 200 votes are needed, but the opposition party and independent MPs together only account for 192. At least 8 MPs from the ruling party must support the motion. To build pressure, a massive protest will take place to demand accountability tomorrow. If the impeachment fails, there’s a real possibility of a second martial law being declared. We hope to safeguard democracy and human rights, and that no harm comes to peaceful protesters. Please pray for us.
