no need to feel bad because i absolutely LOVE THEM!! and i'm beyond grateful that i discovered them through you cuz otherwise, i wouldn't have known about Shellac and Rapeman as well—ESPECIALLY RAPEMAN IT'S ONE OF MY FAVSSSS. it's so so so so goood. you have no idea how much change these bands brought to my life so thank you very much😭<333

it was my turn on the aux and of course, i had to play Big Black. my dad heard the onslaught of buzzing noises and feedback and said, "why does it sound ugly?"

i just chuckled and said that it's noise rock. deep down, i'm overwhelmed with joy, because he's right! it does sound ugly—not 'ugly' ugly, but pretty ugly. so ugly that it's pretty damn good, and my ears can't get enough of it.

funny, considering how repulsed i was upon listening to them for the very first time—look at me now, willing to get tinnitus from whatever the hell this is. if you went back in time, aka 3 months ago, and told me that i'd end up loving this, former me would've thought that you've gone insane
