And if you're of those tweeps, there's a good chance you're a fan of the Housewives. I've definitely been a reality TV fanatic for awhile. Before Housewives, I religiously watched shows like The Real World and The Hills. Although I always watched these shows with a skeptical eye on the "reality" of it, these cast members are still real people, and I have always been interested how they move forward with their lives when the spotlight of TV on them isn't as bright. Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag ("Speidi") of The Hills, for example: Speidi went from appearing on TV and magazines on a weekly basis, to being banned by E! news, to being fired from The Hills, to losing millions of dollars. Not to say things can't be worse; Heidi and Spencer still seem to be happily married and can rely on each other for support--but who else can they rely on? The same is what I asked in regards to Jill Zarin. She seems to have a dependable family support system in her husband, daughter, sister, mother, etc., but can any of them truly understand how she felt from being revered to reviled to ignored by the media spotlight? That's not to say a lack of support and understanding should excuse all of her behavior. Basically, this e-book is just a factual exploration of what happened during and after Jill's time on Housewives. You can form your opinions (as always) on whether you agree with her reactions to the fame ride. As the title may imply, I wrote this piece as a chapter of part of a larger book proposal last year. The book wasn't making any headway, so I decided to release this chapter for free to my fellow Housewives fans. And maybe if you like it enough and want to read more about Jill's fellow reality TV peers, we/a book publisher can make that happen :) I wanted to shoutout sites like the late Lynn Hudson's "LynnNChicago" blog and TerryAley.com for their comprehensive coverage on Jill Zarin, which I know lead many of us to further our Housewives addiction. These sites also advanced my interest in coverage as a reality TV blogger for Reality TV Magazine and a regular reader of sites like Reality Tea, StoopidHousewives, AllAboutTRH, and many others.
