THE PARALLELS BETWEEN HARRY really wanting to try to heal Voldemort's soul after wanting to kill him for so long but also having to (now or later) reconcile the fact that he destroyed a bunch of those pieces, and therefore had a hand in ensuring this goal of his could never be achieved AND VOLDEMORT wanting something sweet and glorious with Harry after so much time wanting him dead, but having to live with the consequences of his actions and previous attitudes to him, NEITHER getting what they want, BOTH suffering because it's just out of reach AND IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF THEM.

Do you headcanon that Voldy has read up about BDSM dynamics in his research spree? I love that Harry has been taking things pretty in stride so far despite how intense his meetings with Voldy are, and I'm glad the poor guy hasn't 'dropped' (to use the colloquial bdsm term) too hard yet! (He doesn't have the time to, he's got a world to save after all!) Reading your chapters gives me so much inspiration for writing my fics with this sort of dynamic! You nail it! Bless you for writing so well.

mmmm not bdsm specifically, as I’d assume all that terminology is strictly muggle? Hm, that’s an interesting question, really. I always wonder where and how much muggle/magical culture overlaps in certain areas. In any case, his researching spree was much more heavily focused on the spellwork side of things, and anything he looked into above and beyond that is 🤐

Voldemort-NG is who Voldemort-Hauntingly wanted to be. In terms of handling Harry mostly, but all other things, too. Am I wrong? I kind of got that impression..

I wouldn’t say he wants to BE him lol but yeah he’d kill for his circumstances. NG is kind of the opposite of hauntingly in that way

first of all, i just wanted to say how much i love your work. you’re genuinely one of my favourite authors in the fandom.

i was curious whether you’ve ever thought about writing an f/f fanfiction one day?

i’ve always felt like the harry potter fandom has surprisingly little f/f content compared to everything else, and for some reason i could really see you writing something like Bellamione. i think your writing style and your interest in darker, more complicated character dynamics would suit it incredibly well.

this definitely isn’t meant to pressure you into writing anything. i know writing takes a huge amount of time and you already have plenty of projects going on. i’m genuinely just interested in your thoughts on it.

I’m definitely not opposed to writing f/f (though I believe there’s a lot of reasons why it’s generally less popular than m/m), and if I did bellamione would probably be what I’d go for. I don’t ever see myself gaping that though, because yeah, I already have a lot of WIPs. Maybe I’d dabble in writing a oneshot sometime though!

During Ruination, how would Harry react if he had still gotten injured and bled but not bad enough that he passed out? What would be his immediate reaction to what happened? In the same vein, how would Voldemort handle the situation? I have a feeling that Voldemort might just panic and leave Harry there, or he'd jump to threatening Harry to keep quiet. I just don't think he'd do well without having time to process what he did and that is certainly not going to make Harry very charitable in return. But I'm curious what you think would happen

oh man. Well Voldemort definitely wouldn’t just leave him there. Harry would certainly have some sort of emotional episode, and Voldemort would probably stun him or something to postpone dealing with it. And he’d heal him immediately ofc.

Why does Voldemort feel bad about raping Harry when he's never felt bad about torturing him?

sometimes I’m unsure if I should answer these questions because it feels like I’m explaining the story in a way that ruins the experience of reading it… well anyway. If you’re referring to the literal torture at the beginning of the story, it’s because his feelings towards Harry have shifted quite drastically since then. He does, in fact, regret many of the choices he made then, when all he wanted was to see Harry dead.

Hi Pen! What's your opinion on Drarry and Dramione? Which one do you think makes more sense?

oh goodness. Honestly, it’s a hard question to answer, because we get the books from Harry’s perspective. So we have such great fodder for drarry, particularly the part in the sixth book where I believe a chapter opens with something along the lines of ‘Harry was becoming obsessed with Draco Malfoy.” Not to mention all the canon moments of Draco being the one to be obsessed with Harry, wanting to be his bestie and seemingly stalking him and his friends on every annual Hogwarts train ride. There’s a lot going for drarry in canon that’s pretty obvious.

however, there’s some compelling dramione stuff at play, too. I personally jumped on the dramione train the moment hermione slapped Draco in the face in front of his mates and was about to slap him a second time, and would have if Harry and Ron hadn’t stopped her, and Draco did NOTHING in retaliation. That, followed up with Draco being slack-jawed by her at the Yule ball the next year, makes for some pretty compelling dramione stories.

so I guess my opinion is that both can work really well, and I think Draco is a bisexual chameleon who can be shipped with just about anyone

The only reason I want a Happy Ending™ to NG is that your writing makes me cry too much and I know my heart wouldn't be able to handle it

Hi! Any plans for Percy to make another appearance in NG? I really liked how you wrote him into the trial scene! I think his own climb up the political career ladder, maintaining his position even after V won, is just fascinating. Would love to write a Percy POV of his own experiences during NG someday!
