❄ Winter Fashione, ❄
my girl Petra and her chickies
I have always wanted to own chickens but I am horribly afraid of bugs. Is there a powdered bug mix for chickens at all?
hi! 🤔 I’m a little confused but chickens main diet is grain, so all you would have to buy is sacks of chicken feed, no bugs necessary! They will catch and eat bugs on their own sometimes :)
(if i’m reading this wrong pls tell me i’m a sleepy gorl)
hi how are you guys

Chicken post today!
I’ve been a bit silent as of late as I’ve been having to deal with a lot of real life carry-on. I’ve had a significant bill pop out of nowhere and my flock was also afflicted by a really bad contagious sickness who’s only remedy is culling. I’ve never had to do that myself before and my brains not coping hugely well.
But enough sad! Have babies!! I had one lonely little wyanadotte hatch all by its lonesome under Miriam’s fat butt.
Onwards, mother! To battle!
Knowing I couldn’t leave it all alone I’ve managed to acquire some more chocolate Orpingtons and oh my god they are all just way too cute.
They’re so teeny tiny and itty bitty! By chance they all hatched the same day; making them a grand total of two days old today.
And my first little round of babies ever, Ace and Anne, are all grown up and fabulous- Anne is laying eggs and Ace is beginning to crow. He sounds like a very confused turkey.
He’s got a gorgeous big fat head now, with a big fat comb that flaps disturbingly in the wind. Anne is growing her signature double lace pattern really nicely, she’s far more fabulous than her brother.
The same friend who provided me with the orps has very generously gifted me a pair of unrelated Rosecombs, they’re young and ugly at the moment but they’ll grow up to be absolutely stunning birds. They’re teeny tiny ugly teenagers for now and are already smaller than the four week old babies.
And finally,
Barbara.
