PLANNING YOUR MONTH
The early bird gets organized
Start 2 days before the beginning of the next month . If youâre scrambling to organize everything you have to do for that month the day the month starts, youâre already behind.
PICK A LOCATION
It can be your planner, your bullet journal, or your bedroom/ dorm room wall. But pick a location where you will use your monthly plan, and see it often so that youâre acclimated with it.
COPIES???
What if the only monthly plan you made suffers severe water damage? Then youâre screwed for an entire month. I i m p l o r e you to please PLEASE make a copy of your plan. Everybody makes mistakes. Everybody has those days. Donât let that DAY ruin your MONTH.
Start with your academics
Starting with academics not only keeps your priorities in line with where they should be, but it permits you to get all your ducks in a row for your classes. Find out when they are, if you donât have the same courses every day, so you know what to be prepared for on which day
Follow up with assessments
Academics and assessments go hand in hand. Now that you know what day everything is for this month, and when you will be having your classes, find out what assignments you have in those classes. Knowing your assignments in advance allows for more preparation, and more consequent success
Prioritize those assessments!
If one assessment is your final grade for a mandatory course, and one assessment is a vocabulary quiz, the final grade assessment needs to be prioritized over the vocabulary quiz. Make sure you are highlighting the more important assessments, so you know their value!
Do the same with homework!!!
Homework is often seen as less important that assessments, but you still need to get it done. If you know in advance what assignments you will have, put those in!
Got projects?
Projects are the bane of every individualâs existence because you think you have all the time in the world to get it done, and then they due date sneaks up on you like the plague. Not only should you WRITE IN THAT DUE DATE but separate the tasks that you have to do for that assignment and assign it to yourself as homework.
Make your appointments!
Figure out what appointments you have that entire month, and preferably before the month starts. That way, you can ensure there are no conflicts and go in with ease.
Extracurricular obligations!
Find out what obligations you have for your extracurriculars before they sneak up on you. No one wants to be out of compliance for an extracurricular, but you donât want it to conflict with your life either.
Fit in some F U N.
Donât make your monthly plan just boring this, and plain old that. Incorporate some hang-out sessions with friends, or a personal day (maybe two). Everyone needs that R & R.
DO IT AGAIN
Repeat it the next month. Soon, youâll be in a habit of planning. I promise, this will make your life s o m u c h e a s i e r.

studying tips *âËシďžâ§*シďž*âËシďžâ§*シďž*
alright. so you donât want to study?? well the heard truth is that youâre going to have to if you want to do well in school. if iâm not feeling up to it, i like to remember why iâm doing it. we have the privilege of learning, so use it to your advantage. iâm working hard for my future. that school you want to get into? that dream job?also, treat every class youâre studying for as if itâs your absolute favorite class. youâre not always going to like the class youâre in or the teacher who teaches it. but it doesnât matter, because youâre going to have to do well in it to achieve your goals!! try to actually enjoy what youâre learning. go on studyblr and find people who are learning the same subject. use outside resources to help you learn.
get out the essentials. this includes all of the papers you need to review and your laptop. put away all distractions and get a glass of water next to you to stay hydrated.Â
plan ahead. as soon as your teacher announces there is going to be a test, break down the topics you need to review and schedule time to study these in your calendar. this way, you wonât have to think twice about what you need to do later and save time.Â
donât cram. seriously. make sure to start studying well before the day of the test. you donât have to study for hours a day, because thatâs a lot more than we can handle. thirty minutes a day doesnât seem like very much but when you do this for a week, it adds up to a lot! this is a lot more effective than cramming in four hours in the middle of the night before. (you will thank yourself later).Â
donât just passively read over the textbook. this isnât very efficient and wonât help you remember the information as easily. try reading aloud is a lot more effective! you can explain the content to yourself or to a friend. this way, youâll be able to see if you actually understand it. if you canât explain it, then go back and review your notes. also, practice practice practice! flashcards/quizlet are your best friend for vocabulary. do practice problems or redo past assignments.
ask questions when youâre unclear about something to your teachers or friends! itâs the worst walking into an exam without understanding the major concepts you need to know. this may not be offered to everyone, but at my school, my teachers hold after school hours for students to work and ask questions. take advantage of it when teachers are open to helping you!
study on the go! whether youâre on transportation or waiting for a class, take out your notes or flashcards and read over them! you can make recordings of yourself reading these notes to listen whenever!! this will save you valuable time for when you get home.Â
take breaks in your study sessions. every 30-40 minutes, i recommend relaxing for about ten minutes (donât spend too long on breaks or else you might not get back to studying). you can put on a face mask, read a book, go outside for a walk, stretch, or whatever you like! this gives your brain a break to process the information youâve just reviewed! but if you feel that you donât need one, donât force yourself to stop.Â
reward yourself! give yourself a little treat when you finish studying to motivate yourself!Â
remember that learning is hard! it may seem overwhelming, but if you try your best and have patience, things will get easier. the time you put in now will be worth it, even if it doesnât seem as thought youâre making progress. these good grades will culminate into a really good gpa!! however, donât focus all of your energy and time into studying. this will drive you straight into a burnout. Itâs important to have balance, to make time to do some self care and socialize.Â
As mad as I am and was I have to view it like this... Would I forgive so soon? Probably not, from Carnitaâs vantage point But God does amazing things to a heart that wants to be Christ like. I hope and pray I donât have to go through this but if it was to happen I would hope one day I could forgive because I was forgiven. https://www.instagram.com/p/B3KH5e7AFWjLEZiclijdOBjbQK6_yo_nhjaUNQ0/?igshid=13i9p3guq1swc

I â¤ď¸ this! This is what itâs all about. My favorite thing about being an Educator is to sit and listen to students. When they feel comfortable to come to me and at times we sit and laugh. This is what I got with my time with God this morning. Thought Iâd share. We often forget who put us on when we get on top or forget the people that was there for us when we had nothing. What to keep in your bag: University edition
Alright, sit down youngin's and let me tell you what to keep in your bag for university (and why). First things first, get a backpack that's going to hold up. Your bag is going to get abused and you don't want to have to replace it in the middle of the semester.
Reusable water bottle/coffee cup: firstly, it's good for the environment. Secondly, you might get discounts for having it.
Pencils, pens, writing utensils: basically, get a pencil case. Fill it. Never trust a single pencil or pen. I once had to write half a calculus exam in bright pink pilot frixon because my mechanical pencil died. Trust nothing.
Mini stapler: put it in the pencil case. You'll need it, or someone else will need it and you don't really want to have to hunt around the library for one.
Washi/normal tape: have you ever tried making a poster without tape? Keep spare tape with you, the library might charge for it.
Notebook: listen, maybe you're going to take notes on your laptop. That's great unless you forget to plug it in the night before and it dies in the middle of your lecture. Have a back up.
Laptop: you only need to bring this if you're actually going to use it. Don't bring it just in case, we both know whatever you want to do can probably be done on your phone. That thing takes up precious backpack space, and this isn't highschool where you get to put things in a locker.
Wireless mouse: Excel on a laptop scroll pad. Not the worst, but it's not fun either. Bring a mouse. (Only if you're bringing your laptop though)
Earbuds: the bus sucks without them. Mine only break on midterm days
Lab coat/manual/safety glasses: if you're in science, you have labs. You don't want to be the kid who can't get into their lab because they forgot their coat/glasses. You also don't want to be the kid who doesn't know what they're doing because they don't have a manual.
Planner: listen, I don't care how you do this. I have an ongoing to-do list with dates for every course on Google docs, as well as a physical planner. Do whatever works for you, but keep track somehow.
Hand sanitizer: Germs. Germs everywhere. Everyone is sick. You don't want to be sick (writing a physics midterm with strep throat isn't fun guys). Sanitize yourself.
A small hand moisturizer: so you've sanitized your hands 5 times a day for a week and now your hands are dry. Have a small moisturizer with you. I find LUSH samples are really good for this.
Kleenex: you got sick (s a n i t i z e). It's cold. Your nose is running. It's awful. Have Kleenex.
Tylonel/Ibuprofen/antihistamine: headaches, cramps, sore throat, allergies. We both know you're probably going to that lecture anyway. Have the drugs that will help you.
Tea bags: this may sound funny, but campus coffee shops will probably let you have free hot water and milk. This is cheaper than buying tea everytime you want some.
Lunch/snacks: campus food is expensive, need I say more?
Sweater/hoodie/cardigan/jacket: I know it's a summer course, but you know what's freezing? The lecture hall. The lecture hall is freezing.
Gloves: winter. Snow. Rain. Cold. Gloves. Especially if you're bussing.
Plastic bag: line the inside of your big backpack pocket with a plastic bag. It might look funny, but it'll protect your stuff from puddles and spills
Tampons/pads: uterus bearing humans make sure you are equipped at all times.
Those are the main things. Don't bring textbooks unless you're for sure going to use them because those are heavy. I'm not listing things like your keys and wallet here because I hope you have both of those.
Good luck,
@anothercupofstudying
