Application for Netherlands - Accepted! :)

Being a game designer I’m around a computer most of the time. At a guess, once or twice a day at least, for several hours at a time. English - Yes. English is my first (and only) language. Character info: Blog URL - http://whatadutch.tumblr.com/ Character country and name - Netherlands (Tim Hendrix) Age - 33 Occupation - Drug dealer Character ships - None right now, but I’m sure that’ll develop as I RP more. Personality - Tim is a quiet individual. He mostly keeps to himself and hasn’t had a chance to connect with many others. Due to his occupation he is used to dealing with intimidating and tough people, who aren’t really good friend material, and as such Tim doesn’t have many people he holds dear. He also puts on a tough persona, and tends to appear more threatening when dealing with strangers, as he has learned that by intimidating others they are less of a threat to him. That being said, he is a gentle giant, standing over 6 feet tall, he is intimidating and scary to those around him, but is kind at heart. He hasn’t been able to show such kindness in his line of work, so he has had to keep that part of him buried. However, now that he is in a new city and is able to start fresh, making proper friends, he will attempt to slowly, bit-by-bit, let out that kind nature he has inside of him.

RP sample -  The brisk air blew past Tim’s face, the breeze rolling over his skin and leaving behind a prickly chill. He pulled up his blue and white striped scarf to cover his mouth and buried his hands deep in his pockets, hiding them from the cold air. The people he passed on the street as he made his way through town walked around him, providing as much distance as possible after seeing how tall he was, and with his spiked up hair on top of that. The blond knew he looked tough, but this wouldn’t do. He could never hope to make friends like this. His green eyes gazed down to a young girl standing beside him at the traffic lights as they waited to cross. She looked up at him and their eyes met. For a moment he hesitated, considering whether he should pull down his scarf and smile at her or keep to himself. He slowly removed his right glove-clad hand from his pocket and reached up toward his scarf, but before he could reveal a smile to the girl, her mother took her hand, and walked away quickly from Tim. He sighed, and turned back toward the lights, continuing to wait. Hopefully this city would provide him with more opportunities to make friends. Extras -  I was here before RPing as Australia, but unfortunately had to leave due to personal reasons. Thankfully those reasons have passed for good and I am back! I am more than happy to RP as both Netherlands and Australia, but I figured I’d start out with one character to get back into the swing of things first. I don’t have a whole lot of experience RPing, as the only experience I’ve had is a private RP with a friend of mine (who is also in this site) and my previous experience on the site. However that being said, I cannot wait to get back into it.

Anything with with chemistry really though. Briefly describe your character’s personality (Do they have a dominant personality? Do they prefer quiet places? How are they when put under stress? Etc, elaborate. Add all the information you can think of off the top of your head. Answer more than these three questions. They are examples.)- Alistair is very much a dominant person, if someone is loud in a room- he has to be louder. He is very much the strict brother but due to his army career, he is also the one that gets into the most trouble. Normally because he doesn’t know when to shut up. He does enjoy his own company however, and often seeks solace in quiet places with his thoughts. Stress levels are always high, and the Scot is also known for having an extremely short temper.

Paragraph rp sample- (in third person, At least two paragraphs)-

Loud. That was the first thought that entered his mind. Loud. Too loud. Gunshots. Shrapnel. I need to move. His limbs were heavy. People were screaming. I need to move. He could hear someone crying near by. Why couldn’t he help? Why was everything so dark? His heart was beating out of his chest, and he couldn’t breathe. His lungs strained as they fought for air, he could feel his hands ghosting over his throat, trying to claw some air out of somewhere. But his hands were still by his sides. Why couldn’t he move?! 

Alistair shot up, his lungs screaming as he finally took breath. Choking and coughing as he became more aware of his surroundings. He was disorientated, and a thin film of cold sweat covered his body. He was shivering. He was in his room. Gus was the one crying at the door. Alistair sat there for a few moments, struggling to get his breath back and tell himself it was just a dream, and he wasn’t back there. 

By the time he managed to get out of bed and open the door, Gus was frantic, and when the small dog ran into the room, he almost knocked Alistair off balance as he was crouched down to greet him.

“Sorry about thae, wasnee expecting another so soon.” The dogs presence was calming, another body to match his breathing too, and a warmth to travel through his fingers as he moved them through his fur. Alistair looked around the room, his eyes resting on his packed bags in the corner. He was moving back with the family for a short while. His superior thought it would be best if he was in a stress free residence for the next few months while he recovered. He was right in a way, but Alistair also thought he was a fucking moron. He was fine, and there was no need to take him out of work. But orders were orders he supposed. Nothing he could do about it now. Extras- (heacanons, character notes)- 

- despite being grumpy and short tempered, Alistair has all the time in the world for children. He adores his younger siblings, and will do anything for them.

- he owns like 17 kilts

- Alistair has a secret love for acoustic songs and wishes to be ed sheeran, but has no musical ability. He can hold a pretty good tune, but he would most likely break any instrument given to him.

-Alistair’s injuries are mostly on his back, which he is very self conscious about, and always keeps his back covered if he has company.

-Alistair does actually suffer from panic attacks from his injuries, they have gotten better, but he hates loud noises, they terrify him.

- Alistair has a Scottish Terrier puppy called Wee Gus (he was given the idea after receiving his leave slip, the dog could help with his panic attacks)

They are examples.)- He is as stubborn as a mule and has a shorter temper then a teenager. Get on his good side, and he may even offer something as a friend. (or to be nice as he claims) Lovino is a hard stern boss and isn’t easy on his workers, sometimes he feel distrust to cooking the food when it comes to special orders. Highly competitive that almost seems childish, but is an extremely hard worker none the less. Lovino has a hard time showing his true feelings to the point of jumbling out curses and insults. Despite this, he isn’t an ignorant person- just needs his emotions in check. To the ladies he is extremely gentle and well mannered, but to the men it’s dead near opposite. “Are the seasons fresh?” “Yes.” “And the dough is soft but thick?” “Yes.”  Lovino paced up and down his cooks ready to inspect this new workers. He in his loose red collared shirt top two buttons unbuttoned, black sleeve blazer, and matching black pants and shoes would make one assume this Italian was part of the mafia.Not at all, he was a pretty clean Italian and gentlemanly- “Do you call this a clean uniform!! When I expect my cooks clean cut, I mean it!” -most of the time.“B-But, it’s not lie they won’t see us in the kitchen.” “I still expect you to have a clean uniform! Can not have any reason for when inspections are made! If you do not have it clean do not return at all!” The chef gulped and nodded remembering to ALWAYS keep clean. Lovino Vargas, chef for eight years, restaurant owner for six years. He knew the tricks, the laws, the restrictions, and most of all- what the customer wants.

Character ships-Anything as long as they show chemistry and if it’s a romantic ship, talk to me out of character first because otherwise Antonio will just awkwardly skirt around their affections or flirt without the thought of actually starting a relationship.

Briefly describe your character’s personality-

Antonio is a pretty complex character, but he isn’t just a dimwitted person the fandom has a habit of portraying him as. He’s the type of person that would rather put up with someone hating him than confronting them about it, and he doesn’t really like to start major fights over something small. He has issues with going to bed before 10, but he has no problem waking up early most of the time. He tends to take control of situations that no one else would, say during a neighborhood search, and he’d instruct people on what to do and where to go. Antonio isn’t really all that serious of a person the majority of the time, but when the circumstances call for it, he can sober up fairly quickly. When he listens to people, he doesn’t necessarily give them advice or talk about his own past, he just listens and tries to be there for them or comment on how he thinks things went for them.

Paragraph rp sample-

Curly, brown bangs fell in front of Antonio’s face while he leaned over his desk, the light from his lamp casting an odd shadow of his form on the wall. It was 11 at night and he knew he should sleep soon, he had class in nine hours. The problem is that if he fell asleep now, he’d have to wake up earlier than usual to finish his homework. On any other day that probably wouldn’t really be something he’d have to look out for, but tomorrow he had to work directly after class and then get to his apartment in time for his mother’s call.

Maybe when he made more money he’d be able to pay for a new phone, but until then he was stuck with the landline and giving people timeframes to call. He could always get Virgin Mobile, those are only $35 a month with some deals, but the phones were an entirely different story and ranged in the hundreds. Antonio was always taught to be frugal with his money, and spending even over $50 in one sitting made his stomach turn, so he could never really wrap his mind around getting one of those.

Cutting back to the homework, Antonio shook his head and pushed his seat away from his desk, turning back towards his bed. Honestly, he couldn’t focus anymore and trying to do his homework or study the way he has been right now would only hurt him in the long run. He removed his shirt and pants before crawling into bed, wrapping himself into a blanket burrito for the ultimate comfort.

Extras-

When Antonio gets upset or irritated, you can tell by the way he holds himself. He crosses his arms or he tucks one of them behind his back, usually followed by his smile tightening and no longer crinkling his eyes.

Antonio is still attending college, his major being Culinary Arts and his two minors are Philosophy and Environment Studies.

He either wants to grow up to be a teacher or some type of chef, though if he could teach Culinary Arts at a school, he’d probably be the happiest person alive.

Antonio used to have really bad ADHD, though he’s learned coping methods during the years and it’s milder now. He still has to take Adderall on a daily basis though.

Blog URL-  Character country and name- Wang Jia Long / Hong Kong Age- 20 Occupation- college student Character ships- hongice + anything else that potentially comes along as long as there’s chemistry.  Briefly describe your character’s personality- Jia Long seems like a silent, brooding type when you first meet him, but can actually be quite sassy and quick-witted. Outwardly he isn’t the warmest or friendliest at all, because he tends to put people at a distance due to a difficult past, but he definitely has a warm spot for his elder brother (i talked about this w/ maddy). He’s a modern young man who is always keeping up with the latest trends, and can usually be found with one earbud right in his ear, blasting music.

Paragraph rp sample-

Jia’s plane had just touched down when it began to snow. That was one thing he knew he definitely wouldn’t like about living in this city– the weather. Snow in general was, in his opinion, totally shitty. It rarely ever snowed at home in China, where he had lived his first twenty years of life, so now that he was living in America he just… had to put up with it? Frankly, it just plain sucked.

“This really blows,” he said to himself as he retrieved his luggage, exiting the airport shortly after.

He took a bus from the airport to a small station downtown. The pulled up to the station and all of the passengers, including himself slowly exited, disappearing into the miniature blizzard. Jia, however, stayed at the station, as he had nowhere yet to go. No one even knew that he was there yet, and with all of the luggage he’d brought along, there was no chance in hell he was walking around by himself in a city he didn’t even know, and especially not since it was snowing.

In the small enclosed, heated area at the bus station, the young man sat with all of his luggage sitting by his side. He pulled his phone out, quickly dialed a number, and waited for an answer on the other line.

Once she’s your friend she can be very friendly and caring to people. She keeps to herself at time and keeps a smile on not showing the bad things in her life. At times she is a bad liar but can change subjects very well when things feel awkward or tense. Meg feels maple syrup and pancakes can make anyone feel better or bring smiles back to the faces. She loves cute things from animals to holiday decorations, she loves Spring, Winter, and Fall more than Summer.

One more year, just one more and she can get her bachelors degree! The doors shut and the engine hissed into motion. “Please, wait!” She begged running in her heels near killing her already sore feet chasing the bus down.

Alfred is the type of guy everyone is friends with. He is an extreme people person, and is very social and kind even if you’re a meanie to him. Ever since he was a kid the adventure in him grew and grew. His main goal was to fly and he managed to accomplish that by getting into piloting. Alfred is outgoing and is never one to shy away from a challenge… even though some of his ideas can be ridiculous and unethical. Sometimes he manages to save the day like a hero, and other times he can become the bad guy when he does not mean to. When under pressure he tends to get panicky and is bad at staying calm and collected. Hiding his emotions was never a big thing for him, and most of the time he can be read like an open book. Alfred is a kid trapped in an adult’s body and all he ever wants is to have fun and be happy. His heart is on his sleeve, and he trusts everyone no matter what. Outgoing is an essential character trait to this unique and boisterous American.

Small paragraph rp sample- (in third person)-

Looking out at the skyline he held his breath and turned on the speaker to the rest of the aircraft. “This is your captain speaking… we will be reaching Vergessen Falls a little bit ahead of time. The weather is a nice sixty two and partly cloudy. We will be descending shortly.” He turned it off and adjusted his sunglasses looking out at the sky.

It was exciting to finally get to come back and enjoy Vergessen. He hadn’t lived there since two or three years ago. He managed to get a job at the airport in the city and now all he had to do was settle into his new apartment he had bought.

After the plane had landed he stood wishing the passengers a good evening and all until a little girl with big eyes tugged his pant leg. “Here you go~” She handed him a flower and the American smiled bending down.

“I love the flower… almost as pretty as you. How about you take good care of these sunglasses for me, alright kiddo?” He raised one eyebrow taking his sunglasses off of his face. The girl looked so surprised but nodded excitedly and hugged Alfred before skipping off of the plane. “At least I have a backup pair.” He told a flight attendant and put the flower in his chest pocket. That made his day ten times- no one hundred times better.

- Loves to travel, but can be a bit idiotic and offensive to people sometimes

~~~MOD POST, PLEASE READ~~~

hey all, mod keeks here.

i'm gonna be completely blunt- activity in this group is atrocious. now, i understand why... people have school and work and such. even still, the chat is always quiet save for a few people here and there, and the dash is a ghost town. even on the weekends, at that. it really sucks.

my stance right now is that, if activity does not improve drastically soon, then it may be time to disband the group. of course i can't make that decision on my own- i'd like the other mods to weigh in, as well as anyone else. i love this group, i love you all dearly as people and roleplayers... and i really don't want to have to shut down the group... but there's no point in keeping it up if it's going to be like this.

Halloween

Hey guys!

With Halloween right around the corner, the group is considering having an event of sorts. Last year we had a maqurade ball and it went wonderfully! However this year things are a bit slow since everyone has jobs and school. So within the next few days let us know if you want something to happen and send in some ideas and we will try and make it happen!
