“A ruler without no rules, eh?” Beth mused, nodding and looking about pointedly, “Well, I agree wit’ ya there, it sure is chaos out ‘ere, what with nobody knowin’ which way ta go an’ all that. An’ since we’re bein’ perfectly frank, I did like it better wit’ King Benjamin on da throne, him bein’ okay with the people in Auradon Prep bein’ in Auradon Prep, y’know? I don’t much like bein’ kicked outta someplace I just moved into.”
“Ben may not have been perfect,” Jane said, crossing her arms, “But if Uma knew what she was doing we wouldn’t have,” she gestured around to the empty street, “All of this. I mean is she even going to open the school? And who is going to run it without my mom? And what about all the VKs? At least at school they had a place to live, clothes, and three square meals a day. Without that where will they be? Homeless?”
Beth tried her best not to wince at the mention of homelessness, but the she couldn’t help but stiffen a bit, “Right, she sure mismanaged dis one!” A forced laugh, trying not to dwell on the thought that maybe the VKs preferred their new queen, “Well...” she admitted, looking around pointedly, “I don see any o’ da villain kids out ‘ere. Most of all o’ dem are in da castle celebratin’.”
