I have no opinion one theory or the other, and I admit I only surface-read this one, but if it interests people, here you go! :)

Mun, have you unlocked remaining operatives in the game? I mean, people probably already asked everything they wanted from the present ones, and there is also no activity here, so people are presumed that this blog is dead I guess

Unfortunately, it pretty much is : I have no inspiration for it anymore, and I don’t believe that more characters would change this. ^^’ I feel bad for the people just finding the blog, but uh... Yeah, it’s essentially dead right now. And unless we see Chimera Squad in the next Xcom game, I doubt it will regain traction. I wish I could keep it alive longer buuuut... I prefer to leave it here before tending to the blog stops being fun and just becomes work and stress. :)

(One day during a downpour a strange event occurs. An officer sitting at the frontdesk of Chmera Squad HQ sees as some metallic liquid leaks under the door. After a few seconds the liquid forms a puddle made of mercury-like drops and begins to stand up. After another few seconds it takes form of a tall, thin, caucasian male, dressed in pitch black greatcoat, suit and sunglasses. The creature walk over to the officer and says: C. E. Chen sends me. She told me You can provide me with... purpose.)

The officer looked at the whole display, frowning with distrust... Still, she leaned into her radio. “Godmother, we have an... unexpected guest with new abilities, at the front desk. Could you please come out there?” A few short minutes later, Godmother power-walked her way to the entrance, in full gear, King the automaton following her closely with its own shotgun. She looked the man up and down, assessing him quickly, unsure of what to expect... “Hello, I am Godmother, Chimera squad’s strike leader. Who are you?”

Apologies in advance to the team if this is a sensitive topic, did the elders ever experiment with non human genetic hybrids?

Shelter : “Hmm, I believe a good part of their invading forces was already sort of modified. Vipers were twisted into thin men, if you remember, before they had access to humans to make the hybrids. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had this habit of showing up to a planet, getting new DNA, toyed with it to better their army then left for a new one. Clearly they had experience...

But if you mean, like, animal mixes and chimeras? I have no idea...”

Yes, just inactive here due to lack of asks... and motivation. ^^’ And also real life things going on. There’s a lot of stuff that needs doing, so yeah... It pulls me away from the blog. But I appreciate the concern! :) I’m fine, though. I hope you, and everybody else is, too!

A Codex was a rare sight in the world these days, most confined to psionic rehab having to deal with the sudden and violent disconnect from the Psionic Network and the Elder's dominance. But today one Codex with an atypical projection, namely a male figure in black and blue instead of female in orange and gold, was walking past a coffee shop when they spotted Blueblood. "Oh! That Face, that.. badge are you... THE Blueblood!?" An excited tone!

Blueblood looked up from his coffee, surprised, taking in the stranger. “... yes, I am Blue blood, from Chimera squad, yes?” He said, a question in his tone to check if he was indeed who this codex was looking for... A male codex! Now that was rare. “What can I do for you?” He asked with a soft, professional smile, warmer than one might think.

“Sure.” The man nodded, inviting his codex guest to follow. “This way. Good luck, Whisper!” “Thanks! Uh, we have snacks in the- ah, but.. codex.... Hmm...” The coordinator mumbled, embarrassed, as they walked off. “That’s actually a good point. Is there anything you can eat, that you would enjoy as a hospitality snack?” Blueblood asked, walking along with C0dy towards the assembly to go meet Verge.

A video message to Director Kelly, from the desk of CEO Ingrid Persson. The CEO herself was sitting at her desk, smiling into the camera. "Director, I am sorry for taking your time. I am sure you have a lot of work. But as one of the business leaders of City 31, I feel it is necessary to support Reclamation in these difficult times. At the convenience of your brave officers, I'd like to visit them, and see if there are ways that Burger Palace can meet its civic duties."

Kelly sighed, looking at the video. “….Well, at least it’s good to know that we’re the winning side, if Miss Persson herself is trying to play nice with us… Oh well, I guess it’s worth a shot.”She started her own recording for a video response.“CEO Persson, it is a pleasure to hear from you directly. As you know, our priority is to keep city 31 from descending into anarchy ; my team might work with yours to designs ways to lower the tensions through your business, keeping the city stable, and profitable. Attached to this message are the coordinates of my operator in city 31, Whisper. Feel free to contact him at your earliest convinience, and he should be able to set up an actual meeting on site. We appreciate your patronage, and your help in this fight towards equality and coexistence.”

A few minutes later Whisper receives a phone call coming from the office of Ingrid Persson. a male voice speaks,” Hello, I am Martinez, Ingrid Persson’s personal Secretary. Now, Miss Persson is currently in a board meeting; however, she is interested in arranging a meeting with Whisper, and she wants it as soon as possible Would 4:00 PM next Monday be available?

Whisper hoped his double-take and initial stammering weren’t audible on the line. “Ah- Do you mean Ingrid Persson, the CEO of Burger Palace? That’s a surprise. But, yes, a meeting should be possible! Next monday at 4? Sure. Uh… One question, though : Where would this meeting be? and I would like to warn in advance that I might be pulled away to oversee any operation suddenly coming up. And… I have no real way to predict if something is going to be happening or not. Otherwise, I would definitely warn in advance.” Bureaucracy was always nerve-wracking for Whisper, but he tried to appear somewhat professional. Why did someone like Persson want to meet him personaly?

“Oh! I see!” He said, putting 2 and 2 together. This was a promotion campaign... Interesting! “Well, we would happily welcome Miss Persson to our temporary HQ, but I feel the need to warn in advance : this is a temporary location. It has been chosen for it’s position in town, and not for the glamourous paintjob... So the place is... less than photogenic, to say the least. I do hope she won’t mind? Will you also be present?”

Not gonna lie, I’m running out of steam here. =u= For a lot of different reasons. I have no real ask anymore for the characters, no idea of scenarios to draw with them, no time to play more to get the missing teammates, no energy to draw... Essentially, my motivation is dwindling. It’s not necessarely a bad thing, I’m gonna have some real life adulting to do for the forseeable future, so I might not have the time/energy/motivation to get back to it at all. That would have been a quick but sweet ride back into the world of Xcom, kind of at the image of the game itself.

So... yeah. We’ll see what the future holds. But considering I am at the point where seeing I have an ask gives me a slight shot of anxiety instead of excitement for what my followers have thought of today... I think we’re on the end here. But it’s fine. :) I’m not the center of the world, the rest of you guys can still do your stuff if you still feel the pull. :)

To the Squad: Have there been cases of Aliens coming to Earth after the Elders left? You know like aliens wanting to have a new life on Earth? Like Alien Immigrants? (Not trying to offend anyone here :-\

(Returning to metal storm). To be fair metal storm weapons are kind underpowered, I mean, yes 180 40MM grenades fired from 36 barrels at a 500k RPM are dangerous to lightly armored or unarmored targets, but it is useless against heavily armored targets [but you dont drive around in a tank either]. But mad scientist in me always wanted to see a sinister child of metal storm and railgun

The gifts of candies in verge’s locker had stopped after a while, oddly enough a short while after him and hideo’s conversation. What he found instead was a letter. ‘Hello verge, I hope you’re well, I caught wind of your opinion of these gifts, and wanted to apologize for any discomfort it may have caused. I’d like to be more direct, and offer a chance to maybe meet if you’d like?’ What follows was a time, after hours, and signed with a little heart.

He had resigned himself to have a silent admirer once more, when the card came. He read it quietly, a bit of interest moving him. Ah, not so silent an admirer, then... That was more effort than most to get closer. Although the idea to meet possibly a stranger on his own did not sit right with him... At least the place was near the temporary HQ. Maybe he could ask Blueblood for some backup, of the whole squad he was the most likely to be able to hold his tongue about who Verge might meet over there.

He set out to find the ex-cop, curiosity about his fan growing steadily through the day.

“Of course. Thank you for not letting this be a simple crush.” He smiled, and very gently took the medic’s hand in his, letting them rest there. “I look forward to our date. And hopefully if we get along outside of work, to many more dates afterwards.” He added softly. He didn’t seem in a hurry to go, simply sitting there in peace next to Hideo, holding his hand comfortably. He didn’t need more... for now.

Nothing on it is exactly secret, most of it you can find in other places if you dig a bit, but some of it is classified or for police use only, and it would be best to not, you know... pull it out of it’s intended location.” Blueblood said, looking over at the upcoming building. “As for ground rules-” Suddenly, in a screech of tires, the armored van drifted into the street and tore down the avenue, Blueblood waving at the tainted windows as it passed by at full speed. “- generally try not to be in the way of the van. But it shouldn’t be a problem now. People might be busy for a few minutes, I hope you don’t mind waiting a little to meet our coordinator, Whisper? I can see about introducing you to Verge, he’s working in the assembly line at the moment, and Cherub is in a recruitment drive... ah, he said he had a date with Grele a bit later though. I guess we’ll just have to do with Verge for now!”

He watches the Van go with great curiosity before turning back to Blueblood. “I think that’s fine by me... all of you at once might be overwhelming and.. did you say.. Grele? Like the viper prince?” He ‘blinks’ at that, more his optics flicking to mimic the expression since he didn’t have a face proper. “And Verge is the... the Sectoid on your team right? I wonder if i know him from before... I knew a few Sectoids assigned to make use of the data I combed for the elders...” A small shrug.... which also saw his hair rise off his shoulders... he physically could not hide his sudden nervousness. “Well uh.. Lead the way! I’m right behind you.”

“Yes, about that.” The man turned to him, looking serious. “Even if you do recognize him, please do not bring it up. Verge is trying his best to make up for what he had to do, and like many he isn’t proud of his role in the Elders’ plans. It hit him especially hard, and he is still working through it, so please, don’t bring up anything about that around him, if you can help it? He would be very civil in responding to it, but it does shake him every time, still...” He explained as they approached the entrance. Inside of the open hangar, techniciens were running around everywhere getting things ready, and whisper was consulting with someone over data scans of the location the team had been deployed to. “Whisper! We have a guest. This is C0dy, he’s going to be with me.” Blueblood called, before gesturing for the coordinator to focus back on his work. “Focus on the op, it can wait for after.” “Alright, uh- Hello, C0dy, welcome to Chimera Squad HQ! We’re about to be busy for a while here, so uh- make yourself at home?” Whisper still said, taking a second to greet the codex.
