I've been doing my homework at this starbucks these past few weeks. Most of every night I'm here, a sweet old couple comes in an hour or two before closing to drink their caffeine night cap. I may be mistaken, but I am sure I've only seen this smile a couple times. but That's not obviously not why I called them a sweet couple though.

When they come in, the old man gets to work arranging the comfy couches. He arranges them in a way where their seating arrangement is more intimate so they can hear each other over the girls to my left who are talking about the latest hot gossip at work. His wife waits for her husband to finish arranging and he helps her settle into the seat.

This may be a little gesture that this man has done for years throughout their years of marriage, but I find it beautiful. This couple just has this normal routine when they come in here. They never seem mad nor do they seem extremely happy, but they sit here. talking and content with each other. They sit and talk. It's such a simple action, but sometimes we forget to take the time to just do that. Who knows what they're talking about. Maybe they're talking about their day or their kids or the spoiled milk they accidentally drank earlier. Each day we get busier and busier and forget the small things. Sometimes we just need that. Simple. Sweet.
