I had the chance to see Axel’s play Une vie sur mesure and to talk to him after his show. I had such an incredible time and I can’t stop thinking about it since then, so this is the reason why I’m doing a little recap. Be aware that I can’t remember what Axel said exactly but I’m trying to write as accurate as possible (and also that English isn’t my native language so there will be grammatical mistakes I’m sorry!)
• His play is really, really amazing, it’s the story of a young autistic boy who has a passion for drums. It’s funny, joyful and emotional at the same time. Besides is amazing acting skills, Axel also plays drums live.
• He said that he was happy about the fact that all of his characters from all of his projects have a message to deliver.
• When he came near us and we told him that we watch Skam and he was surprised and I told him he should expect that but he answers that he didn’t want to assume anything. Then a girl offers him a gift and he gave her a hug, and he started to hug everyone after her and I told him I didn’t have anything to offer him and he was like “it doesn’t matter!”
• We started taking pictures and he was always the one getting closer to fans ♥
• Axel told us that NRK has to agree for other seasons for Skam France and I looked at him with fingers crossed and he did the same.
• He told us that all the team for Skam was really on board with this project, for example for the first kiss scene, all the technicians agreed to not being paid for the extra hours on set.
• He explained the running scene, he told us it was a dream coming true for him to have a whole road to himself. A van was supposed to be driven next to him (with four people in it and a camera attached with a rubber band) but at first Axel was running too fast for the vehicle (we stan an athletic man!) He also told us that the person who was supposed to inform him about the car driving towards him forgot to do so, he was really startled but he kept running anyway, he thinks that they choose that take for the episode. I joked with him about the fact that he didn’t have a stuntman, and he answer something like “of course not, Skam France have a very small budget…”
• He said that all the cast discover the episodes like us, they haven’t seen any footages before, so one time, he was on a set for another project and he got a notification for a clip, so he went to the bathroom, hiding from everyone, to watch it!
• At the last screening when he was watching the episode it didn’t felt like it was him but really Lucas who was running after Elliot. He also told us that Maxence and him were crying and David told them to be quiet because they were crying louder than the fans behind (!!!)
• Axel told us that Instagram is really scary sometimes and he likes the fact that only 1000 people will see his post if he deletes it.
• He told us Maxence has a small apartment and it’s now full of fans’ gifts.
• He will do a TV show in France with Colline (it’s called Fort Boyard, famous people play games to give money to charity), he is scared because there is often challenges with snaks and he doesn’t like them (including Maxence’ snake).
• Axel went off in all social medias during three months to prepare Skam.
• I asked him about the pictures and videos posted by Skam for Instagram stories and he told us that at the beginning it was awful pictures and he didn’t know that they will post it before seeing it so he was like “but guys, not this one!”
• Axel kept joking about the end of Skam like “it’s lame, Elliot die at the end!”
• He told us that at screenings in Paris with 500 people it was scary for him and Maxence and that he prefers to talk with us in a small group (like we were).
• Finally, here’s some nice facts about Axel: he always looks you in the eyes while talking to you, he is a very easy-going person, and he seems to enjoy talking about Skam as much as we do ♥
