I found a ghost town while driving though the midwest. I spent the day wading through dead grass and exploring the vacant homes.  A rusty water tower lay on the outskirts of the town and the yards were littered with old cars.

 New life took over the town.  Birds had built nests in many of the homes and there was a dead lamb in one.  As it grew dark it began to rain.  I picked the house with the cleanest bed and slept inside as I listened to rain drip through holes in the ceiling and patter on the roof.  I woke up early to the sounds of raccoons near me on the stairs.

Something you may not know about... Baudelaire and Photography

In 1859 the French Poet Charles Baudelaire launched a passionate attack on photography, claiming it had ideas above its station. Photography should 'return to its true duty, which is to be the servant of the sciences and the arts - but the very humble servant, like printing or shorthand, which have neither created nor supplemented literature.'

The stone lay innocuously on the linoleum floor. The human female with the camera thought nothing of the offending object, but Sherlock suspected otherwise. The stone was important. In what regard was yet to be discovered. Perhaps a small ‘hunting’ exercise was in order to fully assess the situation.

"What are you doing?" the human female questioned, cooing fondly as though to a small child. "Silly puss, it’s just a little stone."

Sherlock paused, regarding the human with a pitying glance, wearily meowing, “I have heard your reasons and regard them as unconvincing and inadequate.” When the human appeared unresponsive, Sherlock continued with her investigation, making a mental note to have the human trained in the importance of suspicious objects at a later date.

- From the award-winning documentary, "Playing For Change: Peace Through Music", comes the first of many "songs around the world" being released independently. Featured is a cover of the Ben E. King classic by musicians around the world adding their part to the song as it travelled the globe. -

Inspiring and talented musicians take up their instruments to add to this wonderful version of Stand By Me.

This is the Virtual Choir, brainchild of Eric Whitacre. The video features 2052 performances of 'Sleep' from 1752 singers in 58 countries, individually recorded and uploaded to YouTube between September 2010 and January 2011.

It's a truly inspiring performance!
