can i yell about graphic designer!mingyu for a second? like i’m so glad their management uses and encourages his creativity as another way to promote the group, and just that he’s able to express himself and grow as a visually creative artist beyond just being himself a visual. like those stickers they handed out pre-debut in 17 Project to promote themseves? he did that. 17′s iconic logo (which is vastly superior in style and iconographic impact to their old one)? HE DID THAT! NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT! bongbong? he HAND-CRAFTED bongbong!! that’s his agender child, y’all! (and a brilliant and adorable marketing tool for social media to show what they’re doing and where they are without revealing new comeback styles, too.) i would bet that the wonwoo doll and its outfit and glasses for the aju nice promotions were his idea too. he designed the cover for the new album!!! HE DESIGNED THE ALBUM COVER!! (imo it’s the best cover yet too, simple yet visually interesting - a single hand ((probably his)) spilling the 13 rings onto a surface - extremely symbolic and executed with great artistry and sense of negative space).

like for all the rightful hype 17 get for being a self-producing, self-choreographing group, a lot of people don’t realize that a ton of their visual creativity and direction comes from within, too, through mingyu. along with all the many hats he wears (hair stylist - which is also a form of design, actor, singer, rapper, model, chef, hard-carry, etc, etc), i feel like his sense of design and visual creativity is the part of his career that will last the longest and be the most important. like i 1000% believe not only that he and minghao will start their own clothing line/fashion house, but that he’ll be the main designer and it will be a huge success. god, i admire him for SO MUCH besides his perfect face.
