To many people wait until things are lined up, fully organised, or mapped out before they move. These are mostly just excuses that stop us from taking actions. If you want know who you are or what you should be doing? Don’t Ask... ACT. Just begin and you are almost half way there! Action will always delineate and define you, provide the guidance you need and free you. #livefull #livinglife #personalgrowthhacking #choosestogrow #choosingtogrow #personaldevelopment

Sadly very true #choosestogrow www.choosestogrow.com
Why and now do we keep growing?
The first thing to understand is that humans have a deep seated need for growth, whether it represents itself as dissatisfaction, obsession, problem solving, ambition, or inspiration. It has been a key instinct in the evolution of mankind and still is a major contributor to how we feel and act. You can take it further and realize that it is actually a law of nature: Anything that is alive is always seeking more growth otherwise it is dying.
If we accept this, then it can change our approach to things in a manner that is focused on growth and not on “dying”. By having an attitude that we see everything as growth we actively change how we interact with what life generates, and our perceptive of where we should be focusing our energy.
The next thing is that we need to be self-aware of where we are and where in our life we should be focusing our attention. Life can be broken down to six different areas: Family & home, Financial & Career, Mental & educational, Physical & health, Social & cultural, and Spiritual & ethical. If we score each area out of 10, I would be extremely surprised that anyone has a 10/10 score in all areas of life. If you score each area, you now can see where you should be focusing on your growth. This enables goals to be set, plans to be hatched, and balance to be achieved via directed growth.
This concept was originated by Paul Meyers, the founder of Success Motivation Institute (SMI), as the “Wheel of Life” and has been adapted by many since. If you are interested, you can actually use the “Wheel of Life” if you visit their site. http://www.success-motivation.com/
So true ... one of the best ways to stay self aware is via meditation.
Do you have leadership qualities?
If you look at the great leaders of our time it is more than the expertise, brilliance, assertiveness and/or finances that made people want to flock to them. The attraction to their leadership style, which is very much akin to the traits of a servant leader (Robert Greenleaf: Servant Leadership)and their ability to influence others, are based on the following:
1. Empathy
People who serve others, especially leaders, are non-judgmental and respectful of others’ challenges and circumstances. They not only have an understanding of how obstacles can be overcome but find a way to help others get through roadblocks as if it was their own personal experience. There is a deep need for those who serve others to be the person that is called upon in the time of need.
This establishes trust that this person will not betray a trust but focus on helpful advice. Solid leadership is exhibited by those who have empathy as it translates to a natural influence over others.
2. Reality
People who help others have to be in touch with reality. They cannot be hung up on themselves carrying a false ego that makes them unlikable or unreachable. When anyone is focused on helping others, it is not about themselves; it is about the person(s) they are serving.
The world is full of frauds: Those who serve have to be real with themselves and those they are serving. The resulting unequivocal relaxed atmosphere allows people to be genuine and transparent in a safe environment created. Leaders who operate in this fashion, as servants, create a trusted environment that others feel comfortable with along with their vision and strategy.
3. Humility
Humility is interesting. It will cause people to roll up their sleeves, get dirty, stay up all night, work on the weekend and do whatever it takes to complete the job to their satisfaction.
Servant leaders puts the needs of the organization over the needs of themselves. Leaders who can remain humble and focused on the outcome of the organization and team will risk themselves to uplift the group for success. The people who follow this leadership regime are proven to be trustworthy and reliable.
4. Focus
Focus is key in making sure others are taken care of. There can’t be distractions that keep the leader away from serving the individual to the fullest needs. Leaders will often be in the midst of the positive and negative discussions regarding those they serve, however they need to weed out the noise and focus on the task. Great leaders ignores the noise and can not distracted from the purpose.
5. Detail-Oriented
People with servant mindsets are usually mini project managers and normally understand what it takes to accomplish anything assigned to them. This translates well into leadership because they understand what tasks need to happen and the right people capable of handling them. Further these people know when oversight is needed and when it is not. Be careful with this one as good leadership also forces accurate reasoning as to when to scale back and delegate to others.
6. Work Ethic
Whatever it takes! No sleeping, eating, extracurricular activities, phone conversations, Internet browsing or company picnics/gatherings is an accepted mantra in the servant leader’s perspective. The respect for the result is more important than any other accolade. The servant leader that cannot be outworked is the leader who will not be outworked but will still have high expectations to outperform themselves. They thrive off the competition with themselves to be better in every aspect. Leadership is often viewed as dependent upon hard work and hard-working individuals are highly respected and hence by default, it causes others to work hard as well.
7. Self-Discipline
There will be downtime and free time. The servant leader knows how to balance that correctly so as to get ahead of the needs of those being served. Self-discipline increases the foresight of anticipation which counteracts issues that can be the result of last-minute, potentially chaotic decision-making. Great leaders seem to understand the difference between right and wrong, good and bad, and will implement the self-discipline required to balance the different sides to effectively ensure there are minimal crises.
Leadership is a byproduct of serving others; it’s the intangible value you create in others who don’t even realise they are being led. So to answer your question, leadership is in your future if you can obtain these seven transferable skills. Each of these skills is obtainable if you don’t already have them, and I personally use tools daily to assist with them. If you are helping or serving someone right now, this is just the start from the bottom to soon be on top!
All about growth... what a great song!!! Great lyrics
