"We're directly entering the tigerâs den. Expect heavily fortified defenses."
Station Chief Kate Laswell walked out of the briefing room, besides Captain Price and three other soldiers, after unveiling the news of a new player in the game. The mission was to infiltrate the base of a terrorist organization. The stakes were raised as a formidable adversary entered the picture, utilizing complex security systems and highly encrypted databases.
The databases contained intel of coordinates and maps of underground tunnels that were being constructed to smuggle weapons.
âWeâre relying on a wildcard here.â Laswell handed him a paper out of the file in her hand. Priceâs eyebrows furrowed as he stared at the paper in his hand, flipping it around to check the other side, his surprise doubling.
âItâs empty.â
âGum is the name. Thatâs all you need to know.â Laswell replied.

The directive to collaborate with a nameless, faceless, ID-less and presence-less hacker elevated the tension within the force.
Not that the faceless aspect is unfamiliar to them.
Gathering around the helicopter, Priceâs tone reflected the gravity of the situation. âListen up. The plan is far from straightforward. The place is riddled with traps. This is why you need to follow their commands. If Laswell has eyes in the sky, this person has eyes on the moon.â
âYou follow their lead, no deviations. That's an order. Trust them like your life depends on it because, quite frankly, it does. Clear?" Price emphasized, his words echoing with the weight of command, gaining hesitant nods from everyone.
As the team absorbed the weight of the situation, price took a breath before calling out to the unknown ally for a comms check.
âGum, how copy?â
âLoud and clear.â
Almost immediately, a modulated voice echoed through their earpieces, catching them off guard. The thick voice emanated as distinctly male, slightly tinged with a robotic undertone, the effect of a voice changer.
The team exchanged glances of wariness.
Soap and Ghost specifically side-eyed each other.
Risotto comforting you during a panic attack
Just something i needed and couldnât find around here so I thought yknow what, iâll do it myself
You were just back from a mission Risotto sent you to, and it was nothing like what you expected. It was supposed to go smoothly just like every other mission, but you kind of.. fucked up. No, you fucked up big time. The target ran away and saw your damn face. You just put yourself and the entire team in danger and you had no idea how to explain this to your capo. You had no idea how to fix the damage you just created. You never made mistakes, your job was always perfect and Risotto always relied on you and trusted you immensely, yet you just had to break that trust with your stupidity.
Your hands were shaking as you placed them on the doorknob of Risottoâs office, feeling your breath shorten the longer you stand there, thinking of every possible scenario that could happen.
Then to your surprise the door opened. Your heart fell to the ground when you looked up and saw Risottoâs menacing eyes on you. He raised an eyebrow at you and you moved your gaze to the ground unable to keep eye contact.
â(Y/N), do you wanna keep standing there?â
You were suffocating. it was getting harder and harder to breathe, your hands were shaking even more, and Risotto knew everything just from looking at the condition you were in.
â(Y/N), get in.â
Fuck. Is he gonna kill you? Are you done for? Are you getting kicked out of the only thing keeping you alive and going?
You put your head in your hands and absolutely lost it. It would be better if you just ran away right now forever and never shown your face again to your capo or teammates. The shame, guilt and agony you felt destroyed you in every way possible.
âCalm down, (Y/N). And tell me everything.â
You shook your head.
âThen how are we gonna be able to fix this?â
âFixâ sounds easy, but it really isnât. If this wasnât hard to fix you wouldnât be standing here breaking down in the arms of your capo.
Wait what? He was holding you?
âLook at me.â
You felt his hands on yours. He removed them from your face and you had to look into his piercing eyes.
âSpeak.â
Now that sounded like a threat.
âI let him go..â You finally stuttered those words between sniffs.
You could see the disappointment in Risottoâs eyes. God, you hated that look. You hated disappointing. You always wanted things to go as planned and just live another day on earth with no worries. You fucking hated being a burden on others.
He let out a sigh. âIs that it?â
âWhat do you mean is that it?!-â
âCalm down.â
âHOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO CALM DOWN? I COULDNâT DO IT! I FUCKING COULDNâT! NOW WEâRE GONNA..! I.. IâM..! Iâm so sorry..â
That was it for you, you completely lost it at this point. You wanted to fucking disappear, and risottoâs weird gaze on you wasnât helping not one bit. You canât believe youâre showing all your weaknesses to your capo, someone youâve always admired and wanted to show what youâre capable of.
Suddenly you heard the other membersâ voices coming from the front door. Shit, theyâve already arrived. You held your breath and decided to make a run for it but just before that Risotto grabbed your arm and pulled you inside his office, quickly shutting the door. The room was dim so you couldnât see Risotto clearly but you could definitely feel his hands on your shoulders. He just gently held you there and whispered things in your ear that you didnât expect from him at all.
âYouâve tried your best, I know. You always put so much effort in the missions I give you. Itâs my fault in for sending you alone. Iâll go after him and make sure to fix everything. Donât let this affect you that much, Itâs not worth it. Just calm down.â He paused for second. â..for me.â
And everything in the world seemed alright at that moment.
