go my attempt at replicating splatoon art style (conglomerate of all 3 cause i couldnt decide which one i wanted to copy more)(took alot of inspo from splat1 because i have the artbook and i like the way the tentacles are rendered better there)

Not 100% accurate def on the tentacle rendering i took a few liberties but i needed the shineeee i could not go without it!! And im not good enough for splatoon 1 art level tentacle rendering so this will do. Also not really getting the nose to eye ratio yet but thats probably also because sqeebo has a different eye shape from standard octo in drawings so it may be a tad harder to understand off that menunknow

Hiiiihowdyhowdy!!! Ok so um first dude, mr meticulous afro., his name is Charles and he’s a longstanding oc of mine:) well he’s not that long standing but he’s existed for maybe 2-3 yrs so lol. I drew him once when i first developed him but i dont think i ever uploaded the doodle.. anyway i havent drawn him (outside of my personal sketches) since. HE FINALLY GETS MORE DIGITAL ART!! HOORAH!! I love him he’s great. He loves cooking and wants to open his own restaurant one day:) he’s also british and his family line is so rich they literally bought their way out of the reprocussions of The Great Turf War so for all intents and purposes he is basically an inkling. No octoling trauma here!!

I planned to draw his cousin Edmond and gf Sophie but i cant get ed’s design right.. Edmond takes lots of inspo from characters like Rarity except he is not generous just equally dramatic and just as much fashionable. Ill probably draw Sophie next while i think about it.. HEY IF YOU READ THIS UM HOW DO YOU DESIGN FASHIONABLE CHARACTERS? I want him to wear a lil feather boa or something as dramatic of a statement because i need him to look like he will disintegrate if dirt gets on his loafers

I didnt feel like doing the bodies twice so yea its the same base just ignore that this is the first time ive ever drawn them.. it was hard nailing down the vibe for roe especially haha. They’re boyfriends❤️

If it wasnt obvious i wanted these guys to be like big influenced by whatever i think a skater dude may be. These guys are specifically TROPICAL brand skater dudes and they hang out at a pier all day:) ollie works in a smoothie shop and uh i dont know what roe does. I designed Ollie’s hair/tentacles off of an orange because its his favorite fruit and he works at a smoothie shop, and wants to take it over some day. I based the colors of roe’s tentacles off different roe colors.. Black being the main becuz of like caviar and all that stuff, and then oranges and yellows for other fish roe. Id give him a circular hair silhouette like Ollie but i felt it’d be too repetitive..

talking about repetitive, all of these goobs have circle eyebrows!! I uh dont know what to do about that💔i mean im the artist i can change it obvs but man it fits well on all 3.. Charles is the longest standing oc so i dont wanna take his brows from him but ollie has a very round thing goin on and roe needs something to actually look like an egg😭

Roe’s design is subject to change because im paranoid that i accidentally like copied too much subconsciously from character designs i absolutely adore soooo er yah. I would say ollie’s is too because he takes alot from a former oc, but man i liked that oc design.. but then it got the cheese touch so i have to make a new one

Also id you notice these drawings are not as polished as like my usual work (well if you notice ummmm)same reason for copying body and shoes, im just trying to get the main idea down rn. Characters like Sqeebo, Cruise, and Mav have had fixed designs for years at this point, so its alot easier to perfect and polish alter cause i already have an idea for them in my mind. Since i dont draw Charles often (and edmond like, never) (sophie to an extent too) he’s in a sort of limbo where yea i do know his general design but not all the ins and outs. Ollie and Roe are completely new so its just trying to figure them out stage

Im still figuring him out he’s existed for no more than a week and a half. His name is ollie!!! Also thus is not the other pair of ocs i mentioned before.. anyway do yall like him can you tell what i was trying to hint at in his design lol

Some things will probably be changed but this is my first time drawing him ever so its more of a “figure it out” doodle than anything. He also looks a lil too young rn since he’s abt 18 in canon so ill change proportions later

I could probably give them all individual icon art but their refsheets are drawn well enough to do as their pfps😭 well i could do the other ocs but im.. kind of struggling with colors rn I STARTED just struggling to make it look nice💔💔💔 im majority finished actually all the base is down its just a matter of colors.
