I added a wasp in the first version because im scared of wasps and i just kinda wanted it there for a little teehee factor. Hc wasps didnt die out in the flood because they’re stupid stupidheads and they just had to live. Because life was just too good without them

This was also a fun way for me to play with expressions. You notice eyebrow creases in like 3/4 of the doodles and that because eyebrow wrinkles are the easiest for me to draw so far😭 its like a cheat for emphasizing expressions.. but im also getting more into the mouth ones like a lil dimple or chin/cheek crease. Like aloha’s drawing.

you are foolish to expect no rant from ME MUAHUAHUA!!! below is a short headcanon for how the coroika universe fits into the canon/game universe also slash/ my version of the canon game universe
ok because (even though i havent read that far nor seen alot of content past splatoon 2 coroika) i know they interact with pretty much everyone. Like they’re in octo expansion, the NSS, everywhere. And i know like.. well obviously that dosent fit in game canon very well and since i have my own ocs in the roles of the agents (which goggles and so on and so forth take typically and i do NOT want goggles as captain hell no) i thought like.. what if they’re like actors? Thats a fun idea. So they are actually meeting with these organizations and doing shenanigans so people just assume its all fiction cause “well it happened in coroika it cant be real, the New Squidbeak Splatoon is just some funny fiction organization from Coroika!!” and then they’re actually real so its like.. reverse psychology i think. I mean some stuff would have to be staged because tartar probably was long dead by the time the volume released, but still.
Also because im pretty sure goggles (and the rest of the cast from that point on) should be in their twenties right now if we’re counting in game time the same as real time, which is too old for the bs goggles pulls sooooo it makes sense for him to be some kind of actor like.. “hey, thats my schtick. I cant stop now, its iconic!” Deep sigh and inhale of cigarette.
More on the age discrepancies.. so according to my brief google search which is probably incorrect but oh well, Vol. 1 of coroika released in 2017 on dec 12. Thats about 8.3 years ago. So if goggles was 14 then he should be 22-23. Way too old, he can drink now. But if goggles was 14 in 2015 when splatoon 1 released, he would be 16 in volume one and 24-25 now. #lethimquit
Tldr what if coroika was a reality tv show or something like that in the splatoon universe that’d be fun.
I dont know why im on a roll with making idols/actors just depressed behind the screen. I guess its that time of year its angst o clock.

i love frye so i had to draw her miserable. I think its so funny, almost every frye drawing i see shes all happy and joyous goblin yay!! And she is, majority of the time if not all the time ingame. But i think loosing 22 of 26 of splatfests has gotta hurt. Like imagine thinking throughout your life, and especially your debut: “man, people are gonna love me!” .. 💔 its ok frye i love you if you have no fans im dead

These are not the full drawing, i initially intended to do a fullbody and paste it into different environments and shade based off that (i was gonna do looping in the rooms) and then i realized.. 1 have nowhere to animate it (at least with sound), and 2- i do NOT know how to draw someone running!!!!! So this is gonna end up more like a sprite

If i have motivation ill do 2 outfit versions, one with her early outfit (before annaki yellow cuff came out, so it was annaki blue cuff or something) and her expirament fit:3 i need help on designing that outfit lolz.. i want it to be somewhere in between rivals/octo expanse uniforms (splat 1 and 2, excluding 3. Headcanon when callie was hypnotized she helped design the rival outfits for 3 because girl they are fire) but also kind of similar to side order.. but i want them to have their own vibe too. Like she was an experiment, she hadnt even been allowed to serve as a rival yet so her outfit would be probably bare bones, sterile white.. but im not too sure what else

im having a good time thinking about her lore since i let myself be a little more honest with her and just straight up say she was deeply insecure, lonely, desperate, and when given a relationship codependent. I dont want to sterilize her because im afraid people wont like her or something. Like if anything it just makes her more human and if i should have an easy time doing that with any oc it should be my basically sona😭

I mean Sqeebo literally woke up in a world that she wasnt familiar with, without memories, with a migraine by herself (save for buddy.. salmonid friend!!), in the middle of the desert- being shoved into an environment she didnt speak one of the main languages of completely by herself with nobody to lean on; no family, no friends, nobody. She tried desperately to fit in, to put on a good show or effort at school to get people to like her. Whatever role she was supposed to fill, or that she thought she was supposed to, she tried- she tried to act like she thought they wanted her to, but she only ended up looking odd around other people and becoming more isolated than she was originally. In the end she lost her dignity and she was still just as much of a shadow as she was originally, still forced to be an observer yearning desperately to be seen. This is where cruise’s rivalry with Sqeebo comes in, as her relationship to him- although negative at the time, it was something. Someone who saw her, even if he disliked her. He saw her, he cared enough to dislike her. He was the only person she had.
If you couldn’t tell, especially when they first fall in love shes extremely dependent on him because of all the things mentioned above. She feels like she has noone, nobody sees her and shes noones first choice except his. He’s the only person that loves her, that sees her, thats there. That’s comforted her, that hasn’t left her, that sees her.
cruise being a relatively normal guy is like “uh heyyy babe!! I love you but i have a life tho” and they end up getting into a massive argument one day because shes upset that he’s going to visit his family for the weekend. Shes not mad or like “grr i cant believe you!!” She knows its a selfish thought and she knows she should let him and that its wrong to be upset but shes just sad and cant help but be emotional and mopey at the idea. And cruise is just honestly annoyed at it at this point because she gets upset every time he has to go and he just wants to live his life. So he looses his temper and they arguees and he leaves and she criesss… but this argument is good dont worry!!!! Well at least for her cuz she starts to actually really put EXTRAA effort into trying to make new friends and connections and she does it and now her and cruise are very healthy:) and they both make up and he apologizes for loosing his temper on her but he reaffirms that boundary of “i love you but i have a life outside of you and you need to know that” and she apologizes for being overly dependent on him to the point that its harming him and they hug and she cries but its ok she cries at every emotion its normal. It is relief

I need to give miss okeah over here some more drawing attention.. she has plenty of lore but not many drawings 😭 I think once i create a fullbody ref for her it’ll help that alot, cause unfortunately i dont have the ability i have with Sqeebo of just lazer printing what I wanted her to look like with my mind onto ibispaint in like 8 hours.. i have to learn how to draw muscular better. Im learning but i wanna be better!!!! I crave progress! I crave success!! Feed me!!!!
I think i have maybe 6 drawings of her up and half of them are outdated (by outdated being over a few years old and just not a good reference anymore) which is a total disservice because shes maybe my second favorite oc to write lore for atm (the first being Ty, who im planning to draw next. Except im not so much writing his lore but fully fleshing him out because he’s fun to work with)
But seriously i love andra I need to give her more art because thats pretty much the only way I end up talking about my ocs, and it also brings me joy to see my gooblings.
right now she mains tri stringer because shes tired of being on the frontlines like she was during her service, but i just feel like the tri stringer looks a little out of place with her so i wonder what a better weapon would be.. i kinda think that a splatling would fit more but the problem is that Mav is a splatling main (and sloshing machine but mainly naut and some hydra) and i dont wanna have an overlap in main weapons in 2 characters that are very closely intertwined.. like it would be different if these 2 didnt know eachother at all, but since they’re quite literally dating i dont wanna give her the same exact main as her boyfriend, cause it’d def be hydra.
Although she dosent play much turf war she does do many salmon runs (part of her job oooooo..) I made up a role for her as a job, that being a rescue worker under grizz.co, so she does get to pick her weapon because you want your first responder to have the weapon they’re best at, yknow? Her team also coming eventually maybe!!! She has 3 teammates and i have a design (at least a bust shot) for all of them in my head, kind of like cruise’s bandmates except ive actually drawn cruise’s bandmates together, and ive drawn maybe 1-2 of andras teammates..

ive just given up and decided since i always draw his curly thingy to the side its just like that😭 braided straight up, and at the looser end is styled to cover one of his eyes just for a “mysterious” look. (He thinks it looks cool) (he’s not wrong)
