There you have it... a review on my Virtual Reality experience What works, what doesn’t and what i learned in this blog.
I played a few games that gave me a pretty good idea on what not do do and what is great. The games were from best experience to worst, Pistol whip, Beats Saber, Face your Fears, as well as Darth vader’s starwars, and Journey of the gods.
The main issue with the bottom 2 games was the movement. Journey of the gods allowed the player (me) to move the joystick to be able to make the character walk from one point to another. The effect of having the character walking but not me made me very nauseous. some other games like star wars, you had the teleportation area which was not as bad. however, climbing the ladder going up and down is nauseating as well. Other games, the player did not have to move, which made it easier to focus on the game and not getting sick.
The most important point is that games give the option to go through a tutorial to figure out how to play the game. This is a very important aspect of VR gaming since the controls are different for every single game.
In general, we have to make sure that moving around stays very steady and does not get the user sick.
